Study From Azhar 9 Sura 70 By Edip Chastity Worry Edip Wanted Rashad To Change Rich Believe

Speaker 1 (0:05) Audhu Billahi min al-shaytan al-rajim. (0:07) We seek refuge in God from Satan, whose end is nearing, insha'Allah. (0:17) Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Rahim. (0:19) In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. (0:23) Tonight we start with surah 70, and maybe beyond, depending on our teacher, Adib Youssef. (0:34) Take it away. (0:45) Surah 26 prohibits reading Quran in Arabic for non-Arabic people. (0:50) Surah 26. (0:52) You didn't know that? (0:58) Alhamdulillah. (0:59) He knows everything, that's why. (1:04) Surah 26, remember this. (1:06) It says, do not prohibit the reading of Quran in the language other than what the people understand. (1:15) Because it says, in fact it says, no it doesn't say that. (1:22) I was going to say it sounds Chinese to them. (1:24) It sounds like a different, God says they will not be blamed if they don't believe, if you read it to them in a different language. (1:33) Ok, back to Adib. Speaker 2 (1:34) A questioner may question the inevitable rhetoric, or that the believers none can stop it, from God, Possessor of the highest height. (1:50) The angels, with their reports, climb to Him in a day that equals fifty thousand years. (1:56) This question has always been questioned to every messenger, about the last day, about the end of the world. (2:21) Always people have been ridiculed this day. (2:25) But in the future, when we be close to the end of the world, for example, about two hundred or two hundred fifty years later, this question will be very widespread and everybody will ask this question. (2:46) And Muslims, millions or billions of Muslims will discuss this subject with these believers. (2:53) And all verses about the end of the world will become a real fact, and the believers will know the end of the world, and the unbelievers will ridicule this, will mock at them, and will create a great dispute between believers and unbelievers. (3:24) But we now also discuss this matter. (3:30) And when we say the end of the world will be in that time, unbelievers, all unbelievers will ridicule us. (3:40) They will ask, when? (3:43) Here, God, our God, gives us the relativity of the time. (3:54) He says a day, heaven, divine day, is equal to fifty thousand years, your years. (4:13) In other words, we see that it may be one thousand years. (4:19) These two different scales show us that time is not absolute. (4:26) It is relative there, it is relative. (4:31) For example, I think everything is relative to us. (4:35) For example, heat is relative to our heat. (4:45) We have thirty-seven Celsius degree. (4:49) If the weather is more than this, it is heat to us. (4:56) But if less than this, it is cold to us, the weather. (5:00) For example, the density of our meat, what do you say, flesh, the density of our flesh, it has a density. (5:19) And if we touch something that has more density, we say it is hard, solid. (5:26) And if less than it, we say it is soft. (5:31) And we compare, we compute, we get information about our environment by our possessions, standards. (5:47) And also, our standard is our life. (5:51) We live about seventy years in this world. (5:55) Our scale is these seventy years. (6:00) A fly, the standard of a fly is three months, about three months. (6:04) Three months of a fly is equal to fifty years. Speaker 1 (6:13) How old are dogs, Ligia? (6:16) The oldest one is how old? (6:19) In human life is? (6:24) Okay, so this is what it means. (6:27) Okay, so the dogs escape, right? Speaker 2 (6:32) And here, in the first part, there is a word that has two or four meanings, two or three meanings, word ruam. (6:46) It has been translated as report, reports, revelation. (6:53) In Quran, we can find these words used for revelation or for Gabriel, for Gabriel, an angel. (7:05) It has both two meanings. (7:08) And here, Rashad has translated it as with daily reports. (7:21) Do you have any questions about these four verses? Speaker 1 (7:27) May I? (7:29) I think we should point out here that Gabriel is the only, this is his only job, and he is the only one who does the job of carrying revelations from God to the world. (7:39) Any new information, or new revelations, something that was never known before, comes from God to this world through Gabriel. (7:49) So this is why one of his names is the spirit, or the revelation. (7:58) Because when God says, I blew into Adam from my spirit, it's a word. (8:03) Jesus called the word a word from God, because he was created by a word, be, a word from God, be as he was. (8:13) The same with Adam, and Gabriel brought that word to Mary, if you remember. (8:20) So, here the angels go to the first universe, carrying reports about things happening here, as well. (8:32) And they were given the relative speed. (8:36) Just like Lydia said, the dog is ten years, but in human terms, it would be sixty years. (8:42) We're told here that if you travel a distance in one day, in fifty thousand years, the angels will cut it in one day. (8:53) In Carl Sagan's last novel, he concluded that the speed of light is very slow. (9:01) It really is, because nothing would be done in the universe if things were happening at the speed of light. (9:07) Our favorite example here is the Prophet Muhammad's ascension to the first universe. (9:13) If he were traveling at the speed of light, he would still be in one hundredth of the Milky Way galaxy. (9:19) He would still be going on his way. (9:22) Of course, that did not happen. (9:23) He went and came at the same light. (9:26) God took him up to the same light. Speaker 5 (9:29) There is a famous equation about the relativity of light. Speaker 2 (9:34) And according to this equation, when you exceed the speed of light, there is no time. (9:42) The time becomes zero. Speaker 1 (9:44) So, this is the theory of relativity. (9:46) Why does it work? (9:49) If you travel at the speed of light, time disappears. (9:54) If you travel faster than the speed of light, you can go into the negative. (10:00) It may be wrong. (10:02) No, it's not wrong. (10:05) Let me explain it very quickly. (10:09) Our picture travels at the speed of light. (10:12) If you turn the light on, I will see it at the speed of light. (10:17) So, the person, Mahmoud, will see this later than me, for this fraction of a second. (10:22) So, once I turn this light on, I will see it first than Mahmoud will see it. (10:26) Because it's traveling at the speed of light. (10:28) Our picture is traveling at the speed of light. (10:31) If the sun is turned off for a second, we will see this after eight minutes. (10:38) Because it will take eight minutes for the light. (10:41) So, the picture of anything travels at the speed of light. (10:45) So, let's say Adeeb scratches his ear and then sneezes. (10:51) Scratches his ear and then sneezes. (10:54) Now, somebody has taken a picture from a mile away. (10:57) Let's say somebody can take a picture from a mile away. (11:01) When he scratches his ear, after a fraction of a second, the camera will see that and take a picture. (11:08) Because his picture is traveling at the speed of light. (11:11) So, at the speed of light from here to there, it will take a certain amount of time. (11:16) And then after that, he will sneeze. (11:18) So, let's say I am here and I'm going to travel with this picture at the speed of light. (11:24) So, if he's scratching his ear and I'm traveling with that picture at the speed of light, it will always see him frozen in that position. (11:31) Does this make sense? (11:33) Because I'm traveling with him at the speed of light. (11:35) That picture will be still. (11:37) So, now... (11:39) Oh, let's say he sneezed before he scratched his ear. (11:41) So, but if I go faster now at the speed of light, I will see his picture when he sneezed before that. (11:51) Did I confuse everybody? (11:54) So, I'm traveling with him as he was scratching his ear. (11:57) So, but if I travel faster than the speed of light, I will see his picture when he sneezed, which was a few seconds before he scratched his ear. (12:04) So, I go in the past. (12:07) But I'm going faster than the speed of light. (12:10) If I go even faster than that, I would see him put his glasses on, which is something that happened before he scratched his ear. (12:17) So, let's say even if I walked in the room as he was scratching his ear, and then I take off with his picture at the speed of light, I would see what happened in the past before I came into the room. (12:29) This is how I'm trying to simplify it. (12:31) I probably complicated it. (12:37) But this is what, if you go at the speed of light, time will stand still. (12:41) I will always see him holding his, if I travel at the speed of light, time stands still. (12:48) Yes, if I go faster, I will see what he did before I came into the room. (12:53) He sneezed, he put his glasses on, whatever happened before. (12:58) Okay, confuse us more. Speaker 2 (13:07) One thousand four hundred years, light years far away from us. (13:14) Let's think a star. (13:15) There are many stars that are farther away. (13:19) From that star, let's think that there is a civilization, or we went there, but just now we are there. (13:26) And we are taking the photo of this earth with a very sophisticated telescope, and we could get the picture of people, persons. (13:40) And we could take the picture of Muhammad and the bottle of water from that star. Speaker 5 (13:49) It is possible, but impossible. (13:51) Yes, but most persons are traveling in space now. (13:53) Yes, because it will reach that star only now. (13:59) Yes, only now. Speaker 1 (14:00) Things that were happening 1400 years ago are reaching objects in heaven that are 1400 light years away. (14:09) It's true. (14:10) Also, if that star explodes right now, we will not see it for 1400 years. Speaker 5 (14:14) Yes. Speaker 1 (14:15) Because that's how long it will take for the speed of light to come here. (14:20) The speed of light is very slow. (14:23) And what we saw here in verse 4, that the angels travel, what we spend 50,000 years traveling at our maximum speed, which is the speed of light, the angels will do it in one day. (14:42) And by the way, that's not a fixed relationship, because it can be different. (14:48) It depends on where you are in the universe. (14:51) For example, you go to the moon, your day will be 14 of our days. (14:55) This is something we can do now, we can go to the moon. (14:58) And you're going to have 14 of our days in continuous day, light. (15:03) And then 14 nights, 14 days that equal one night on the moon. (15:07) If you go to Jupiter, you're going to have 365 days of light. (15:11) The day equals one of our years. (15:15) And even on Earth, if you go to Alaska, you're going to have six months a day. (15:18) No, but this is different. (15:20) So it depends on where you are in the universe, but our day is different compared to their day. Speaker 2 (15:30) Back to Elie. (15:33) Verse 5. (15:35) Therefore you shall resort to a gracious patience. (15:39) You must be patient, a gracious patience. (15:43) For they see it far away, while we see it very close. (15:49) The day will come when the sky will be like molten rocks. (15:54) It will be like lava. (15:56) The mountains will be like fluffy wool. (16:00) No friend will care about his close friend. (16:06) When they see them, the guilty will wish he could give his own children as ransom to spare him the retribution of that day. (16:16) Also his spouse and his brother. (16:21) Even his whole tribe that raised him. (16:24) Even all the people on Earth, if it would save him. (16:32) Here, we see the horror of that day, that people will give up from everything that he likes, he loves. (16:47) But that day there is no ransom. (17:01) And also it describes the selfishness of these believers. (17:07) They are selfish and they will want to change everything to give. Speaker 1 (17:17) They probably gave up God and this world for the sake of their spouse or parents or children or whatever. (17:25) But under their judgment they want to give up those people. Speaker 2 (17:29) The love of these believers, when they love something, their love is because of their selfishness. (17:37) They love, for example, their children because they have benefits. (17:47) They do not love anything, they don't expect benefits. (17:52) For example, they do not do anything secretly, good things. (18:00) Because they are in fact selfish. (18:03) But apparently you may not see it. (18:06) Any people who do not believe in hereafter, they are selfish. (18:17) Verse 1, 15. (18:20) No, it is a flame, eager to burn. (18:27) It calls on those who turned away, those who pardoned and counted. (18:34) Indeed, the human being is anxious. (18:40) Verse 17 tells us that hell will call, will invite people. (18:52) In Quran we find that Allah personalized the suffering. (19:03) Understand? (19:06) For example, in chapter 41, 21, verse 21, we see that God makes everything speak up. (19:16) He makes everything speak up. (19:18) For example, in 41, 11, we see earth and heaven speak. (19:23) In 23, chapter 23, 62, the record speaks. (19:29) And chapter 50, verse 30, hell speaks. (19:33) And chapter 27, 82, computer speaks. (19:41) God makes everything speak up. (19:44) But what is speaking in our language? (19:46) You may understand speaking is only by words. (19:52) But Quran explains the word speaking. (19:56) The word speak. (19:59) In 3, 41, we see gestures, symbols also. (20:05) It is a way, another way for speaking. (20:09) Allah says for Zakariya, your sign is not to speak with anybody for three days, except gestures, by symbols you can speak. (20:23) Exceptions show us that symbols or anything that symbol gestures are also a way of speaking. (20:35) Signals. (20:35) Signals, yes. (20:41) Verse 18, those who parted and counted, is one of the important characters of this universe. (20:51) They parted the earth, the roots, and they are so, they are very careful about the substances of this world. (21:10) And also we can see this character in chapter 74, verse 12, 15. (21:21) And verse 19 is very interesting. (21:24) Indeed the human being is anxious. (21:30) In Arabic we say, it has been created as anxious. (21:38) The word is, has been created. (21:42) I searched about this because Allah says in chapter 95, verse 45, We have created the human being in the best manner. (22:03) Allah, and in another verse, please open chapter 32, verse 7, He perfected everything He created. (22:24) He perfected everything He created. (22:26) Allah's creation is perfect. (22:27) But here we see that human being has been created anxious. (22:36) Apparently we may see a contradiction between those verses. (22:44) But if we carefully research on the word khalaqa, we see in Quran, when God says about our creation, when mentioned about our creation, He says, khalaqna linsana, khalaqna, we created. (23:02) And Allah when mentioned about His creation, He says always we created best, in best manner. (23:11) But here it is khuliqa, has been created. (23:15) Not we created. (23:18) How do you say in English, khuliqa, unknown. (23:22) The subject is unknown here. (23:26) Passive tense. (23:27) Passive, yes. (23:28) Passive tense. (23:29) For example, we can see the passive tense in chapter 4, verse 28. (23:35) It describes the weakness of human being, khuliqa linsana. (23:40) You can see that, and also the human being has been created hasty, chapter 21, 38. (23:51) And when Allah describes the weakness and anxiousness and hastiness of the human being, He always describes this as khuliqa, not khalaqna. (24:04) It shows us with our free will, we change our creation. Speaker 1 (24:11) Where is Martha? (24:12) Is Martha here? (24:13) Yes. (24:14) Okay, what is the grammatical, what is the term, linguistic term for something that was created? (24:21) Instead of, I created. (24:23) Yes. (24:25) Okay, so passive is right. (24:27) I wasn't sure. (24:28) No, but the human being can make himself worried, as you will see in the next verses. (24:45) In other words, the human being is made something, it's made by the human, not by God. Speaker 2 (25:00) Yeah, right. (25:01) We can see in Quran, fatabarakallahu ahsanul khaliqeen. (25:06) Allah is the best of the creators, the best creator of creators. (25:13) Ahsanul khaliqeen. (25:14) There are many creators. Speaker 1 (25:17) You can create, in other words, we can create our own misery, our own happiness. (25:25) When God instructs, they follow God's laws, they carry out God's laws. (25:31) Yaqal khalaq wa iftih, and also they create life. (25:34) This is just to bypass this linguistic. (25:52) Dark grey car with the lights on. (25:56) Small, dark, red. Speaker 4 (25:57) Give the microphone next time, not now. Speaker 1 (26:24) Emily will find out. Speaker 2 (26:31) Okay, go on. (26:33) Yes, verse 20. (26:36) If touched by adversity, despondent. (26:41) If blessed by wealth, stingy. (26:44) What kind of car is it? (26:49) Except for the worshippers, to always observe their contact prayers. (26:54) Part of their money is set aside for the poor. (27:04) They believe in the Day of Judgment. (27:07) They reverence their Lord's requital. (27:12) Their Lord's requital is not taken for granted. (27:16) They keep their chastity. (27:23) They have relations only with their spouses or what is legally theirs. (27:28) Anyone who transgresses and the believers keep their word, they are trustworthy. (27:41) And it ends with the same clause, statement. (27:48) They constantly observe their contact prayers, salat, on time. (27:53) It's like saying... (27:58) There are some qualifications, some behaviors of Muslims. (28:07) First, they observe their contact prayers. (28:12) We see this statement also in 23, verse 2. (28:19) And there are many common verses between here and... (28:43) Part of their money is set aside. (28:47) The word by word translation, they have a part in their money. (28:56) A part there is known. (28:58) Known by people. (28:59) They show us that charity, the amount of Zakat is known by people. (29:08) Specified. (29:08) Specified. (29:10) Haqq al ma'loom. (29:13) 24. (29:14) Part of their money is set aside. (29:18) The amount of the charity is known by people. Speaker 1 (29:35) Specified. (29:37) Ma'loom. Speaker 2 (29:44) And there are parallel verses here between chapter 23. (29:51) For example, you see the parallel verse in 23, chapter 23, verse 4. (29:58) It says, it specifies Zakat. (30:13) Verse 30, only with their spouses, or what is legally theirs, is about captives of war. (30:27) No. (30:29) No, it is not. (30:30) It is not? (30:32) In chapter 4, verse 25, Allah gives us permission to marry with captives of war. Speaker 1 (30:50) Hadith inherited some of the old stuff, where they have wars with captives. (30:56) What is legally theirs covers all the methods of marriage. (31:03) There is no marriage. (31:06) But a man and a woman will live together forever and have their children, and the society will know that these belong to each other. (31:14) So the Quran covers all the situations. (31:17) There are common law marriages in this. Speaker 2 (31:42) Is there any question about this? Speaker 1 (31:45) I have a few comments. (31:52) 4.25 talks about slaves. (31:55) 4.25 talks about slaves. (31:56) Yes, slaves. (32:05) Okay, this is very important to note that the people who do not, the worshippers who do not observe the contact prayers are anxious. (32:19) Anxious. (32:21) I really want a stronger word than anxious. (32:24) In Arabic, halouha is worried. (32:26) Always worried. (32:28) Nervous and anxious and worried. (32:29) Always worried. (32:31) A human, huh? (32:33) Yeah? (32:33) Jittery and worried. (32:36) Worried, depressed, anxiety and worry. (32:42) If touched by adversity, they become despondent. (32:46) And when blessed with wealth, they are stingy, okay? (32:48) Now, you can ask yourself this question. (32:52) Do you worry? (32:55) 2. (32:56) Do you become despondent when something bad happens to you? (33:00) 3. (33:01) Are you stingy when you have money? (33:04) If you have these three traits, then you do not belong with the worshippers. (33:14) I remember my father's teacher had a debate with some of the mullahs, and he trapped him into this. (33:20) He said, do you worry a lot? (33:24) He said, yeah, we're humans, we worry. (33:27) He said, if something bad happens to you, do you become upset? (33:31) He said, yeah, we're human beings, we do that. (33:33) And then he said, so I said, well, then you don't belong with the worshippers who observe the Salat prayer. (33:40) Because in verse 22, it says, المصلیین إلا except those who observe the Salat prayer. (33:49) So, the lesson is that if you do observe your contact prayers, this will cool you down. (33:53) You will not worry, you will have nothing to worry about. (33:56) No fear, no worry. (34:00) And you will not be despondent when adversity happens. (34:05) You will remember what the Quran says, that you may dislike something which is good for you. (34:09) You may not get the job that you want, but God knows it is not good for you, and you accept that. (34:15) So, you will not be despondent, you will not be miserable, because you didn't make it in the job interview. (34:23) So, then we have a bunch of traits of the believers. (34:28) They always observe their contact prayers, verse 23. (34:32) 24, a specific portion, 2.5% of their net income, is set aside for the poor and the needy, 25. (34:40) 26, they believe in the Day of Judgment. (34:44) These are all traits of the believers. (34:46) 27, they reverence the Lord's requital. (34:51) They worry about it, in other words, they don't want it. (34:54) They know how bad it is. (34:56) Just making God angry. (34:59) God doesn't get angry, by the way, but, I mean, violating His commandments. (35:04) 28, the Lord's requital is not taken for granted. (35:12) In other words, when you look at this, you will be severe against yourself. (35:18) You will not be lax. (35:22) You will judge yourself according to these criteria, and make sure that you will be strict with yourself. (35:37) Number 29, they keep their chastity. (35:40) So, I mean, you look at this verse 29, and you keep your chastity. (35:45) You will not be lax, or careless. (35:53) Keeping the chastity is something that is unusual in this country, because the society evolved so much in the last... (36:06) Maybe I should get you the piece of paper that Phil handed me. (36:11) Just one second. (36:22) It's for all those born before 1945, which probably includes you only. (36:30) And... (36:34) Okay. (36:35) But here it says, we were certainly not before the difference between the sexes was discovered. (36:43) But we were surely before the sex changed. (36:46) We made do with what we had. (36:49) And we were the last generation that was so dumb as to think you needed a husband to have a baby. (36:55) No wonder we are so confused, and there is such a generation gap. (37:00) But we survived, okay. (37:08) I think there are some other points here along the line that we were the last generation that was so dumb as to think you needed a husband to have a baby. (37:17) So, in other words, what happened in the last few decades is really very harmful to the people. (37:26) And we see what happened with AIDS, the spread of venereal diseases, lesbian mothers. (37:37) Things that those born before 1945 never heard of these things. (37:44) But verse 29, the believers do not take it lightly. (37:49) 29. (37:51) I'm writing an appendix on chastity and virginity for our children. (37:59) Our children better be different from the other children. (38:03) It is your responsibility to teach your children for their own good that they must be virgin on their wedding night. (38:12) And I'm talking about boys and girls. (38:16) And I'm going to show in the appendix how the happiness of your children depends on that. (38:21) The price is just too high if they don't follow this verse, this very short verse, 29. (38:31) They keep their chastity. (38:34) The price is really too high. (38:37) Now, even from the physiological and the physical point of view, the boys and the girls, when they mature first and they are ready for... (38:47) They're not ready. (38:50) I mean, physiologically, they may have their menstruation, or the boys may change. (38:59) But physiologically and anatomically, they are not really ready for sex. (39:03) But in this country, they delve into sex without being ready, and they hurt themselves. (39:10) And they pay the price when they grow up. (39:12) This is from the purely physical and physiological point of view. (39:17) But from the practical point of view, God sees to it that those who violate this... (39:24) Our boys and girls must be taught not to violate this. (39:29) That they must keep their chastity. (39:30) Because when they do that, they pay from their happiness. (39:35) They will not have a happy marriage. (39:37) They will not have a happy life. (39:40) And mind you, it is not easy. (39:42) You must teach them that it is not easy to keep your chastity, especially in a society like this. (39:49) Joe Soberin is a reporter with the Los Angeles Times, and he had a wonderful commentary only yesterday, or the day before. (39:57) He says, these boys, they go out and they have sex as if there are no consequences. (40:04) But the consequences are abortions, dangerous things that happen to... (40:08) And the children who have... (40:10) These boys have no intention of raising them, or supporting them. (40:15) They create a lot of misery. (40:16) That was Joe Soberin's commentary, and he is not a Muslim. (40:20) But here we are reading the Quran, and God knows what is good for us. (40:23) And he is telling us that the believers must keep their chastity. (40:34) You know, all of you are young, and you have children who are growing. (40:39) And I want to repeat, and emphasize, and re-emphasize that it is your responsibility. (40:44) If you just do your part, God will do the other part. (40:48) You cannot just leave them to the world out there. (40:52) You have to do your part by teaching them what the Quran is saying, what God is saying. (40:57) Because if you really love them, you want them to be happy when they grow up. (41:02) And one source of misery will be to break these laws. (41:06) They are not physiologically ready. (41:09) They will be breaking God's law, and the price is too high. (41:16) And if you... (41:17) I know you do want them to be happy. (41:21) So, I am going to write this appendix in detail. (41:25) And you can use it, use me, to give them these instructions. (41:31) It is very difficult to be a father or a mother, and you talk to children about sex. (41:38) It is kind of awkward. (41:40) But if you use the Quran, tell them this is what God says. (41:43) Here is the appendix, read it. (41:45) And God will help you, and will protect them. (41:51) And they emphasize to them that it is not easy. (41:53) You must exert, tell them they have to exert a lot of control. (41:57) Because the temptation is so great out there. (42:02) And you are helping them this way when you tell them it is not easy. (42:05) But you must exert for your own happiness and your own good. (42:07) You must exert a lot of control, you must resist. (42:11) You know they have a big thing saying say no to drugs. (42:14) But you never see it say no to sex. (42:17) Even though it is disastrous. (42:18) Is there? (42:26) Subhanallah. (42:33) Yes, this is a shock. (42:47) Because this, I think it was Valentine's Day at the university, and they distribute free condoms. (42:52) It is like telling them go have sex, you know. (42:55) They don't realize what they are doing and how much unhappiness they are causing to these kids. (43:01) But this is good news. (43:03) Now God is forcing, God says in surah 51, verse 53, that God will show them his signs in the horizons and within themselves until they realize that this is the truth. (43:13) This was good for us. (43:15) There is a big campaign in the country against alcohol. (43:18) They don't do it because God said so. (43:20) But they are forced by the disasters, the social disasters, and the broken families, and the depression that is caused by alcohol, the hangovers and headaches, diseases. (43:34) Now the book, there is a book in the market, new book, that is called You Are What You Drink. (43:39) I mentioned it before. (43:40) And it lists unbelievable disastrous health problems from alcohol. (43:46) Because it dissolves your brain. (43:49) I mean, I am talking about cancer, blood pressure, heart disease. (43:53) Established, scientifically established. (43:56) Liver disease, of course, it was known a long time ago. (43:59) And the same is happening with violating this verse 29. (44:05) They keep their chastity. (44:06) The same thing is happening. (44:08) There are unheard of diseases coming out. (44:15) AIDS is one of them. (44:17) Uncurable. (44:20) You are telling me that now the females have a disease that is similar to AIDS. (44:26) I heard about it a couple of weeks ago. (44:27) Are you going to tell us more? (44:36) Young girls who are sexually active. (44:39) They are not physiologically ready. (44:43) It takes maybe ten years after the voice in the boy changes and the menstruation of the girl, maybe ten years to really be ready to be pregnant and to be in a marriage relationship. (44:57) So God knows, God created us and knows what is good for us. (45:04) If you think I spent too much time on this, it is deliberate. (45:08) Because you have a lot of responsibility. (45:10) There are lots of beautiful, wonderful kids running around here. (45:12) And they must be protected. (45:14) Like I said, don't worry. (45:16) You just do your part. (45:19) And you must know that your children are in God's hand. (45:22) You can't be with them every time. (45:24) But God chaperones your children. (45:26) You are a person. (45:27) You are a person of God. (45:29) And you must have that confidence. (45:31) You must know that God is with your children wherever they go. (45:35) If they are riding a bicycle in the middle of the street or they are out with other people subjected to all the temptations of this society, don't worry. (45:45) Drugs or sex or accidents. (45:47) Your children are in God's hand. (45:49) And you must have that confidence. (45:53) And being the oldest of you, I raised two kids. (45:56) I know that. (45:56) I know and speak from experience. (45:59) They have seen how much God's protection is marvelous. (46:03) And they have seen how you just do your part and God will do His part in the most magnificent ways. (46:12) I don't have relations with anybody else. (46:13) In fact, this is repeated in birth theory. (46:16) They have relations only with their spouses or what is legally theirs. (46:24) So there's a lot at stake. (46:28) It is just not worth it violating these laws. (46:31) These are very harsh. (46:34) The punishment is very harsh. (46:36) It seems out of proportion. (46:37) If you want to test it, go ahead. (46:44) If you want to abide by God's law, then you attain a lot of happiness and you avoid lots of problems. (46:51) Okay, any questions? Speaker 8 (46:59) Yes. Speaker 1 (47:14) Right. (47:15) They're being selfish. (47:16) Like the fellow who donated a million dollars to the cancer center but it had to be announced over the microphone in the stadium. (47:23) This is showing off and he's doing it for selfish reasons. (47:28) Maybe, maybe. (47:28) I mean, he has to be a believer in God to give things secretly. (47:33) But the criterion is whether the person is cutting a portion of his money and giving it to the poor or not. (47:39) The minimum is 2.5%. If the person is giving away at least 2.5% of his or her money to the poor, then they're all right. (47:50) Farhad. (48:09) Yes. (48:10) This is birth theory? (48:20) Yes. (48:21) All is very important. (48:22) Yes. (48:26) The Quran is so accurate that you have to pay attention to what Farhad is just saying. (48:30) Or, or, or, and. (48:32) There's a verse that says you shall observe Hajj and Umrah. (48:36) And they have translated it, maybe even in the old translation, or Umrah. (48:41) But we're supposed to observe in pilgrimage. (48:43) There are two things that must be observed. (48:45) Hajj and Umrah. (48:46) They must be done. (48:47) So this is a similar... (48:49) The difference is just a dash. (48:53) Where or how? (48:55) That's the difference. (48:56) You really have to pay attention to these things. Speaker 5 (48:59) Have spouses, you don't? (49:02) Right. Speaker 1 (49:04) See, because you either got married or you either got together without the benefit of marriage. (49:10) I don't want to tell you that joke again. (49:12) The guy in Africa who wanted to know the secret of happy marriage. (49:17) What is marriage? (49:19) So there are places in the world where there is no marriage. (49:25) Yeah, legally means... (49:29) There may be societies where when the people reach the age of 21, they're actually engaged at the time of birth. (49:38) In some of those societies. (49:40) They had a boy in the family and said, this will be for my daughter. (49:44) This is the tribe chief or something. (49:46) Because the daughter is not born yet, maybe. (49:49) But these are political connections. (49:53) So when they reach 21, they shift the boy and the girl into their new house and they become husband and wife forever. (50:00) She's legally his and he's legally hers. (50:02) But there was no marriage ceremony or no such thing as marriage. (50:07) So the Quran must cover all situations. (50:11) They legally belong to each other. (50:13) In this country, common law marriages are legal as far as God is concerned. (50:17) There are two people who decided to live together forever and raise a family. (50:23) The intention is for them to be together forever. (50:27) They don't go through the state and the papers and the priest or the justice of the peace or anything. (50:32) But they live together forever. (50:34) And that's legal as far as God is concerned. (51:38) By the way, I must clarify that when I talk about problems in marriage, there are all those problems in marriage. (51:44) But who keep their chastity until their marriage, they will have the regular problems of bickering over the budget and what to be spent where and which house to pick out and which room should be the living room and which room should be... (52:01) These are normal problems. (52:03) I talk about serious problems, like the price. (52:42) Now this is inheritance of the things that the wife possess. (52:48) It's not inheriting the person. (52:52) I think I clarified this in the New. (52:56) You shall not inherit your wife's forcibly means you cannot force her to write a will giving you everything. (53:06) But arranged marriages are done all over the world. (53:09) A lot of them are very simple. (53:22) When this is prohibited in the Quran, marriage against anybody's will is prohibited in the Quran. (53:31) If a man inherits the wife in the sense that you're saying, and she's happy and he's happy and they get married, fine. (53:37) The widows can get married. (53:45) There's a Jewish tradition about the brother marrying his brother's widow. (53:53) There's nothing wrong with it if everybody's happy. (54:02) Yeah, but no, this is against the Quran. (54:12) Yes. (54:20) Actually, in this society, you find everything here in this society. (54:28) Any other questions? (54:48) It's only okay if they decide that they are together forever and that they will raise a family, the children and everything, as a couple forever. (54:58) The intention must be forever. (54:59) They will break up next month or next year. (55:01) But if their intention was they're getting together forever, then it's okay. (55:06) It is not okay to get together with the intention that if things don't work out, goodbye. (55:37) Like I said, if the intention was that they live together forever, then it's perfectly all right. (55:51) Some people get married and one or both have the intention of not being together forever. (55:57) That's prostitution. (56:05) Back to Adib and birth number. Speaker 2 (56:12) Their testimony and other men also, they stand firm in their place of God. (56:48) They stand firm and they are 34. (57:02) They consistently observe their protected prayers on time. (57:08) Meanwhile, I want to tell you the verse, chapter 29, 45. (57:35) You shall recite what is revealed to you. (57:39) Observe the Salah prayers. (57:41) For Salah protects from falling in sin and evil. (57:56) This summer, I was preparing a book about the mistakes. (58:04) It was about 40 verses. (58:12) I gave the original for the copy to be copied on film. (58:24) The person gave it back. (58:26) I found that he missed two verses. (58:33) He forgot to copy two verses. (58:36) And only one verse is by mistake. (58:41) He had taken it copied. (58:42) The verse was this verse. (58:44) Verse 29, 45. (58:47) And I told him that you must take these two verses that you have forgotten. (58:53) And not this. (58:57) Wrong, because I wanted verse 39, chapter 45. (59:02) Suppose that I wanted chapter 29. (59:09) And I corrected it. (59:14) Later, I received it. (59:18) But I found that also he had mistake on this verse. (59:23) Instead of 39, 45, he made the same mistake in 29, 45. (59:31) It was very interesting because that time, a few times I delayed my Salah. (59:38) And I was not good that time about my prayer. (59:42) And Allah reminded me about Salah. (59:48) Because God is fully aware of everything you observe your Salah. (1:00:01) Just go on. (1:00:02) 35. (1:00:05) He couldn't understand. (1:00:37) 24, chapter 25. (1:01:02) 35. (1:01:02) They have deserved a position of honor in Paradise. (1:01:08) What is keeping those to the right and to the left, they flee. (1:01:15) How can any of them expect to enter? (1:01:20) Never. (1:01:21) We created them and they know from what. (1:01:33) Verse 40. (1:01:33) I solemnly swear by the Lord of the East and the West. (1:01:39) We are able, O God, I solemnly swear by the Lord of the East and the West. (1:02:04) We are able to substitute better people in your place. (1:02:09) We can never be defeated. (1:02:15) God swears by Himself. (1:02:23) Lord of the East and the West. (1:02:27) Position of stars. (1:02:29) Position of moon and sun. (1:02:36) Allah governs all. (1:02:45) Allah says, Position of the stars. (1:02:57) Here, swearing is personal. (1:03:01) I with I. (1:03:02) But the second verse, we see we. (1:03:06) To substitute better people in your place. (1:03:09) We can never be defeated. (1:03:29) Therefore, let them blunder and play until they need it. (1:03:36) The day they come out of the graves in a hurry, as if herded to the sacrificial altars, with their eyes subdued. Speaker 1 (1:03:57) Thank you very much. (1:03:58) Good job. (1:04:01) Are there any questions on the whole surah or anything? (1:04:34) The Quran consistently talks about marriage and making it official and everything, yes. (1:04:39) But I'm talking about generally in this country, people who never saw the Quran, never came across the Quran. (1:04:52) Marriage is a very organized institution according to the Quran, because God tells exactly who we can marry and who we cannot marry. (1:05:01) It's an elaborate and divine institution that is very organized, yes. (1:05:08) I'm glad you point this out. Speaker 3 (1:05:10) That would be against the Quran. Speaker 1 (1:05:43) That would be going against the Quran. (1:05:44) The true believer is the hardest working person and the best producer in his job or her job, wherever they go. (1:05:53) And they enjoy every minute of it. (1:05:57) Believers are very hard workers and the most honest workers. (1:06:03) They are the best producers. (1:06:06) And they enjoy every second of it. (1:06:09) They are not lazy. (1:06:10) God doesn't want the lazies. (1:06:13) He wants people on the ball. (1:06:23) Our teacher next Friday is Abimey. (1:06:26) And she's going to take the next 19 surahs, from surah 70 to surah 89. (1:06:34) From surah 71 to surah 89. Speaker 7 (1:06:41) Yes, Robert. Speaker 1 (1:06:53) Very good. (1:06:54) Surah 16 says the rich believer is better than the poor believer. (1:06:59) And they wanted me to change this for possible misunderstandings. (1:07:04) But I did not because God meant that. (1:07:07) It says the rich believer and the poor believer. (1:07:09) Both are believers. (1:07:11) Both are equally believing. (1:07:13) But one of them is able to do things, is able to give to charity, and able to further the cause of God and spread the word of God and do things that will make a difference. (1:07:27) So this is a motivation. (1:07:38) Without being frustrated, yes. (1:07:44) Because of that principle. (1:07:50) You want to do things. (1:07:51) You want to buy a million dollar ad in the Wall Street Journal to say to the people, worship God alone. (1:07:58) And you cannot do that unless you better your own circumstances. (1:08:38) Just buy a copy of the new translation. (1:08:46) That's it. (1:08:47) It's going to be mathematically sharp. Speaker 5 (1:08:50) Confirmation. Speaker 1 (1:08:58) Yes. (1:08:59) There are authorized printings. (1:09:02) And they are the closest. (1:09:06) They have three mistakes in the authorized versions of the Quran printed in Saudi Arabia or Egypt. (1:09:15) Avoid the ones printed in Iran. (1:09:19) They misspelled them and messed them up. (1:09:26) That's possible. (1:09:27) But I know that they simplified, quote-unquote, the Quranic Arabic and they wrote it in the modern. (1:09:36) Also in Turkish? (1:09:36) Yes, misspelled. (1:09:39) So the first Quran ever in history that is the way God wanted it will be printed from here, come out of here in the next few weeks. (1:09:53) Farhan. (1:10:21) Well, I have good news for you. (1:10:23) There is a Farsi translation being done now from my translation. (1:10:32) We are authorized Farsi translation. (1:10:34) It's done by Behrooz Mufidi Shirazi. (1:10:47) He's doing this. (1:10:50) Martha, did you say something? (1:10:52) You're not reading your Muslim perspective, you're Mushrif. (1:11:12) You're not reading your Muslim perspective. (1:11:25) Perfect answer to the question in detail. (1:11:27) Go read it now. (1:11:31) Any other questions while Martha's reading the answer to her question? Speaker 6 (1:11:37) Read it. Speaker 1 (1:11:38) Can you what? (1:11:42) What did she say now? (1:12:01) It takes a minute, but it answers your question perfectly. (1:12:04) The answer is yes. (1:12:06) The Prophet Muhammad was given specific instructions. (1:12:09) Every time Gabriel released Quran from Muhammad's soul to Muhammad's memory, he gave him instructions as to where these three or four verses belong. (1:12:18) And he wrote down those verses and he put the instructions next to them. (1:12:23) So when he died, he left the complete Quran, but not in the order that God wanted for the world. (1:12:30) He left the Quran with instructions on the side as to which surah goes after what surah and which verse goes after which verse. (1:12:42) Exactly. (1:12:43) They followed the instructions. (1:12:44) They put the Quran together, but then Satan tricked them into adding two verses. (1:12:49) And that was during Othman's time. (1:12:52) And this triggered the war between Ali and his family and the Umayyads. (1:13:05) Right. (1:13:07) There were 50 years of bitter war, but unfortunately the Umayyads won. (1:13:12) So we got their version. (1:13:13) We didn't get the version of the believers. (1:13:28) He was an angel. (1:13:35) No, he didn't see him as an angel. (1:13:39) Gabriel comes and takes and becomes part of Muhammad's body and releases. (1:13:47) Gabriel built a connection between Muhammad's soul and Muhammad's physical body. (1:13:53) He didn't need to see him. (1:13:57) No, not like that. (1:13:59) In the possession, you lose your identity completely. (1:14:05) If you are possessed by an angel or a demon or whatever, naghma disappears and the other entity takes over completely, and you have no consciousness at all. (1:14:15) But Muhammad is fully conscious. (1:14:17) He just had these words come to him and he would write down the verses. (1:14:22) It comes to his memory. (1:14:23) Just like you are remembering something. (1:14:24) You remember that you took a final exam three days ago, and the questions were this, this, and this, and you can write them down. (1:14:31) So this is how he received it. (1:14:39) Okay, well, whatever your dearest wish is, turn to God and ask him for it. (1:14:45) The best wish being to stay on the right path. (1:14:48) Al-Fatiha. (1:14:49) Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Rahim. (1:14:51) Alhamdulillahi rabbil alameen. (1:14:55) Maliki yawm al-deen. (1:14:57) Iyaka na'abudu wa iyaka nastaeen. (1:15:00) Idina al-sirata al-mustaqeem. (1:15:02) Sirata al-lazeena an'amteen. (1:15:07) By all means, look at that miracle on the wall and thank God, because there is no doubt that we are the luckiest people on the face of the earth. (1:15:16) Alhamdulillah. (1:15:17) Congratulations.
