3) Quran Study: Surah 10:79-92, 23 (1/19/90, 1/26/90)
Pharoah died a believer but didn't develop his soul so he became a loser, the pharaoh of Moses was Merneptah not Ramesses II, feed the soul not just the body, God heals - not some pills.
Speaker 3 (0:00) Let's go to the other station this morning. (0:04) Salaamu alaikum. Speaker 8 (0:05) Salaamu alaikum. Speaker 3 (0:10) You take it and spread it out all over the place. (0:17) 218, perhaps 218. (0:21) How about 228? (0:22) Let's make it a complete set. (0:24) You open the panel. Speaker 1 (0:31) Who's this man? (0:34) He reads. (0:36) He's a member of the Fajr Quranic study group. (0:41) Look. (0:43) He laughs. Speaker 3 (0:45) And he just sits there and reads, eh? (0:47) Yes. (0:48) He asks questions sometimes. Speaker 9 (0:53) Like where's my record? Speaker 3 (0:54) I don't know why I'm laughing. (0:57) I think the person who would answer him is Emily. (1:00) She understands his language. Speaker 1 (1:01) Yes, she speaks Kettish. (1:03) You speak Kettish. (1:05) You know, Ismail lowered his volume, his voice, yesterday. (1:08) But still, Behrouz woke up and came here to say, What's happening? (1:14) Five minutes after Ismail arrived, Behrouz came. Speaker 3 (1:17) There was somebody in there, but I thought it was him. (1:19) I thought maybe he was just tired about something. Speaker 1 (1:21) And that was when you were in their apartment, right? Speaker 3 (1:23) You know? (1:27) Well, you see, I shouted from the other end, and then you got the message on your recorder. Speaker 1 (1:32) You know, in Iran, the first commandment is that you must be in a state of grief. Speaker 3 (1:36) Yes, I know. Speaker 1 (1:37) Continuously. (1:38) And Behrouz is recording our meeting. (1:40) So far, there's nothing but laughing. (1:44) About the cat. Speaker 3 (1:46) What do they do when they meet each other? Speaker 8 (1:48) Ah, it's nice to see you! (1:54) Oh, great! Speaker 3 (1:57) Yeah, he didn't hear about the Ayatollah. (1:59) What did the Ayatollah say? (2:02) Oh, yeah. Speaker 1 (2:02) They seem very serious. (2:06) Khomeini is always serious in public, and the people, but when he goes to his room, what does he do? Speaker 3 (2:12) He breaks out. (2:14) He used to sit up there, and then back there, and do like that. (2:18) And then after that, he goes to his room. (2:21) Because he kept telling me, come over, come over, and I say, well, you know, I'm too busy. Speaker 1 (2:26) The only reason he came is because I told him, suppose you have a heart attack and die right now, who's going to take care of the office? (2:32) He said, yeah, you're right. (2:33) I said, okay, consider yourself dead, and then he's coming here. Speaker 3 (2:38) In fact, that's what I told Karl. (2:40) I told him, if anybody asks, say he kicked the button. (2:42) He died. (2:44) I don't know when he's coming back. Speaker 1 (2:51) The truth prevails. (2:54) Pharaoh said, bring to me every experienced magician. (2:59) When the magicians came, Moses said to them, throw whatever you're going to throw. (3:04) When they threw, Moses said, what you have just produced is magic. (3:09) God will nullify it. (3:11) God does not support the transgressors' work. (3:14) God establishes the truth with his words, despite the criminals. (3:18) The only ones who believed with Moses were a few of his people, in spite of fearing the tyranny of Pharaoh and his elders. (3:26) Surely, Pharaoh was much too arrogant on earth, a real tyrant. (3:30) Moses said, oh, my people, if you have really believed in God, then put your trust in him, if you are Muslims. (3:37) They said, we trust in God, our Lord. (3:41) Save us from the persecution of these unjust people. (3:44) Deliver us, with your mercy, from the disbelieving people. (3:48) We inspired Moses and his brother, maintain your homes in Egypt for the time being. (3:54) Turn your homes into sanctuaries and observe the contact prayers, Salat, give good news to the believers. (4:03) Moses said, our Lord, you have given Pharaoh and his elders luxuries and wealth in this world. (4:09) Our Lord, the Saudis only use them to repulse others from your path. (4:14) Our Lord, wipe out their wealth and harden their hearts to prevent them from believing until they see the painful retribution. (4:24) By the way, Muhammad bin Ja'far did some investigation on Eric, and he found a telephone number that he had in his briefcase. (4:32) It was the Saudi embassy in Paris. (4:35) Just like we suspected. (4:37) I should have called Ehsan. (4:38) I will. (4:42) He just sent me a letter. (4:43) Very nice. (4:45) Will he be very nice to a person who kicked him out in that way? (4:51) So he is a spy. (4:53) 89. (4:54) Oh, he missed a million dollars. (4:58) All the signs were that that he was a spy. (5:02) He always complained about his business is bad, he is running out of money, he is very poor. (5:07) He sleeps in a small room with a tiny bed, and things like that. (5:11) Then he grabbed his purse and fled. (5:13) He must have been a coward. (5:17) That counted. Speaker 5 (5:18) Well, at first glance, he had a small room. Speaker 1 (5:21) Yes, because Saudis know only first glance. (5:24) Too much money. (5:28) 89. (5:31) God said, Your prayer has been answered, O Moses and Aaron. (5:37) This means your is directed to two people. (5:40) To be steadfast, and do not follow the way of those who do not know. (5:44) We delivered the children of Israel across the sea. (5:48) Pharaoh and his troops pursued them aggressively and sinfully. (5:52) When drowning became a reality for him, he said, I believe that there is no God except the one in whom the children of Israel have believed. (6:01) I am a Muslim. (6:02) Too late, for you have rebelled in the past. (6:06) You have been wicked. (6:07) Today, we will preserve your body to set you up as a lesson for future generations. (6:15) Yet, many people are totally heedless of our signs. (6:21) Some important lessons we learn from here, first of all, imagine yourself, yourself, you, running away and somebody is running after you. (6:30) And then you hit the shore of the ocean. (6:35) But God is with you. (6:36) So what will happen? (6:39) God will send a helicopter or something. (6:43) This is what happened to the children of Israel. (6:45) The army of Pharaoh is following them and they hit the Red Sea. (6:52) God delivered them across the Red Sea. (6:55) It shows you God's power. (6:57) Some smart Alec Egyptian geologist explained that this is possible geologically because the rocks will move this way and this way and the water will pass and you'll have you'll have you'll have dry land between the waters. (7:15) But he forgot a minor detail. (7:18) Why did this happen to the Muslims? Speaker 3 (7:19) At that specific instant. (7:22) Right. (7:25) And it might take years for the rocks to do what he's talking about. Speaker 5 (7:29) In the meantime... (7:31) And nothing will ever happen again. (7:33) Right. (7:34) Why only at that moment? (7:36) Perfect timing, yes. Speaker 1 (7:38) Even that is great. Speaker 6 (7:40) I guess he used to listen to the God channel all the time. Speaker 1 (7:44) Really. (7:45) So this tells you and me that if we are believers we must trust in God that there is no obstacle or problem. (7:55) Surah 72 Those who believe in the Lord shall feel no injustice and no suffering. (8:08) None. (8:09) We read before yesterday, the day before how God told Moses' mother, if you are afraid, throw him in the river. Speaker 3 (8:16) Yeah, I know. (8:19) It takes put yourself in that position where you are told you have faith and you are told to throw your baby in the river. (8:32) Subhanallah. (8:34) But Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says that He strengthened her heart. (8:38) Of course later. (8:39) Of course He did also. (8:41) For me, I would say hold it. (8:46) Anybody else up there? (8:53) I hope this never happens to me. (8:55) If you say things like that, you get tested. (8:58) You already gave yourself a test. (9:00) Huh? Speaker 1 (9:01) You already gave yourself a test. (9:02) Yes. (9:03) I have to repent. (9:06) No, you already did it. (9:08) And you flunked. (9:10) You said if it were me, I have taught all the folks here not to even answer a question like that. Speaker 3 (9:16) I know, I know. (9:20) That's why I'm How do we take this back? (9:26) If you repent, it's an answer. Speaker 5 (9:29) The angels will hear you. (9:30) Take it seriously. Speaker 1 (9:37) Christians, they try to mimic God's voice like they did in Abraham and tell you to go to the highest building in Vancouver and jump. Speaker 3 (9:44) Yeah, but if He says that, I'll tell Him no. (9:50) But He's telling you God is saying that. (9:52) I can still tell Him no. Speaker 1 (9:55) God will not order me to do... (9:58) Exactly. (9:58) Because of the law, God says, God does not advocate God does not advocate things like that. Speaker 4 (10:09) Get away you, Satan you. Speaker 1 (10:16) Of course. (10:19) He was a believer. (10:21) Yes, definitely. Speaker 3 (10:25) Allah didn't just tell her to dump him. (10:29) He said, You're memorizing the Quran? (10:41) Wallah, I'm not memorizing it. (10:42) That's what I'm saying. (10:45) That's what I'm saying. Speaker 1 (10:49) I take back what I said. (10:52) She got a lot. (10:54) I should have recorded you before and after. (10:58) Even his Arabic was broken. (11:01) It's recorded. (11:02) Yes. (11:04) That's right. (11:06) The second great lesson that we learned from here is that Pharaoh died a believer. (11:13) He really was a believer. (11:15) But, he didn't have time to develop his soul. (11:18) This is why 91 says, too late. (11:22) This is very important. (11:25) And this is consistent in the Quran. (11:27) It says on the Day of Judgment, it will not benefit any believing soul its belief if it did not gain from its belief by developing the soul. (11:41) In a soul that did not believe and earned from the belief this growth and development which is the five prayers, fasting Ramadan, fasting Ramadan, commemorating God most of the day, etc. (11:55) If he would have died, right? (12:00) Yes. (12:04) No. (12:07) Of course he was supposed to die a believer. (12:09) No, but he really believed. (12:12) He really believed. Speaker 3 (12:12) With this kind of evidence, who wouldn't believe? Speaker 1 (12:16) I mean, he is dying. (12:19) Even Basul would. (12:20) Yes, but it's too late. (12:23) In fact, this is what they all say at the time of death. (12:26) They sent me back. (12:28) But this is after the angels beat him up and he discovered he was wrong. (12:33) However, Pharaoh said it before. (12:36) Yes, before the angels brought him. (12:41) When drowning became imminent And the third big lesson is in 92. (12:51) It tells us about God's miracle of preserving Pharaoh's body. (12:54) Have you seen his body? (12:55) Did he go to the mummy's room? Speaker 3 (12:57) Yes. (13:00) Bloody awful. (13:03) Why? (13:06) I'd much rather disappear than look like that. Speaker 1 (13:08) Oh, I see. (13:09) But I mean the room itself. (13:12) You enjoyed visiting it? Speaker 3 (13:13) Well, I checked out. Speaker 1 (13:16) How old were you? (13:17) No, I took part in it. (13:19) I bet you enjoyed it. Speaker 3 (13:22) Well, you know, because there is an aura of death and what's the word I'm looking for? (13:30) In that room. (13:33) You're happy to be out of it. Speaker 1 (13:35) Not to us. (13:36) We enjoyed it. (13:37) Definitely loved it. (13:39) No, no. (13:40) Sammy got a kick out of it. (13:43) Yeah, I would imagine. Speaker 3 (13:44) How does it look like? Speaker 1 (13:46) How does the body look like? (13:48) Dried up bodies. (13:50) They uncovered the faces of some of them. (13:53) You can see the teeth and the hair. (13:56) It's just dried up. (13:58) It's like a freeze-dried human body. (14:01) And with the skin and all that? (14:02) The skin is there, but it's all dried up. Speaker 3 (14:04) It's like leather. Speaker 1 (14:09) Don't be afraid. (14:11) Are you sure? (14:14) Yes, because they had salt in them. (14:18) Ramses? (14:19) Not Ramses. Speaker 3 (14:23) Because everybody identifies this fellow as Ramses. (14:28) Ramses the second. (14:29) It's not Ramses. (14:31) I saw Ramses. (14:33) I didn't see anybody else. (14:35) He's the one. (14:36) At least that's the one I know. (14:39) They took him to Paris because he was rotting. (14:42) He was ill. (14:43) He was rotting. Speaker 7 (14:44) He was taken to a German camp. Speaker 3 (14:48) When they took him there, when he arrived, they fired the 21-gun salute. (14:56) Because he is a king after all. Speaker 11 (14:58) How interesting. Speaker 3 (14:59) There was a military guard of honor and they fired the 21-gun salute. (15:07) He was a very important king. (15:10) He was a king. (15:11) That's right. Speaker 1 (15:14) He was rotting. (15:15) Did you hear the joke about his statue getting fired because he's standing up? Speaker 3 (15:20) He's been standing up for what? (15:21) 4,000 years or something like that? Speaker 1 (15:23) No, but in Cairo he's standing up. (15:26) In the middle of the railway station. (15:30) Yeah, and he's peeing on the people. (15:31) This is what Sammy used to say. (15:32) He has a fountain of water coming out of it. (15:37) Sammy was only three years old. (15:39) He said, Ramses is going wee-wee. Speaker 3 (15:42) And on all these people. (15:45) And on these people. Speaker 1 (15:47) Every time, he never failed. (15:49) Every time he passed by, he said, Ramses is going wee-wee. (15:53) Because that's what he used to say when going to the bathroom. (15:58) I want to go wee-wee. (15:59) Ramses is going wee-wee. (16:02) The joke is that he told the prime minister, I'm getting tired of the sad Zalunas sitting down on camels and a horse. (16:11) I'm getting tired. (16:13) So get me a horse or something. (16:15) So the prime minister thought it was a very serious matter. (16:18) So he went and talked to the president, Mubarak. (16:21) And Mubarak said, I have to talk to him personally. (16:24) So here comes the prime minister with Hosni Mubarak. (16:26) And Ramses said, I said, I said, a horse, not a donkey. Speaker 8 (16:38) Coming back with a donkey. Speaker 1 (16:43) In Arabic, it's much funnier. (16:46) It's equally funny. (16:48) In English, too. (16:51) So then, before we close here, I have to let the people who work go to work. Speaker 11 (16:59) 92. (17:04) It's a good excuse to go later. Speaker 1 (17:06) So 92 says, today, we will preserve your body to set you up as a lesson for future generations. (17:13) The footnote 92 says, excuse me, God endowed the Egyptians with the exclusive knowledge of mummification. (17:24) Today, Pharaoh's mummified body is on display at the Pharaoh Museum. (17:29) This is really profound. (17:32) Only in that era, that period of time, that they were mummifying the bodies. (17:37) And look what God is saying. (17:38) The Arabs had no idea about this. (17:41) The Arabs? (17:42) They still have no idea about this. (17:44) But it says, today, we will preserve your body. (17:49) Your body. (17:52) God is saying, we're going to preserve your body to be a lesson for future generations. (17:59) Oh, yes, yes. (18:01) OK. (18:01) Tell her to have a bon voyage. (18:04) Is this your stuff? (18:06) Yes, I'll be back. (18:07) You're taking your wife to the airport, right? (18:09) Oh, you're making breakfast. (18:12) OK, hurry up. (18:13) Thank you, Behrouz. (18:15) Good evening. (18:19) Good evening. (18:21) OK. (18:22) I'll open this door for you. (18:24) I will open that door for you. (18:30) OK. (18:31) Ask us any questions you want. (18:35) If God said, OK, Tyson, you don't want to wear it. Speaker 4 (18:41) Sure, I'm slow, but you should have some patience. (18:48) After all, I don't want you to have the easiest mission. Speaker 5 (19:00) OK, come here. (19:03) OK. Speaker 11 (19:08) Oh, it's not... Speaker 4 (19:11) No, it's coming from the left. (19:14) It's trying to overlap. (19:16) OK. Speaker 7 (19:20) You have to switch the control on. Speaker 9 (19:23) Yeah, you're inviting it. Speaker 7 (19:26) OK. Speaker 8 (19:27) He's looking at that like, hmm, not for me. Speaker 5 (19:31) Goodbye. (19:32) Can you come back now? (19:35) OK, little cat. (19:37) Little cat. Speaker 1 (19:41) He's investigating for us. (19:43) Investigating for them. (19:47) Sure, I'm slow, but you should have some patience. Speaker 11 (19:49) Laugh. Speaker 1 (19:52) You don't have lap computers. (19:54) He's ahead of his age. (19:56) He's a lap cat. Speaker 9 (19:58) It's a command that I give my dogs. (20:00) Yeah? (20:03) When Dinky picks something up, and I tell her to laugh, and she gets up on my leg, and she says she didn't see. Speaker 1 (20:10) What happens if Chinton grows to 300 pounds? Speaker 9 (20:13) I hope I really won't. (20:16) I think she's done her growing unless I make her fat. (20:19) Rachel, I think she's grown. Speaker 1 (20:23) In the name of God, most gracious, most merciful. (20:31) Successful indeed are the believers who are reverent during their contact prayers, and they avoid vain talk, and they give their obligatory charity, zakat, and they maintain their chastity. (20:46) Only with their spouses are those who are rightfully theirs, as in common marriages, do they have sexual relations. (20:55) They are not blamed. (20:57) Those who transgress these limits are the sinful ones. (21:00) When it comes to deposits entrusted to them, they are trustworthy, and they honor their agreements. (21:08) And they observe their contact prayers regularly. (21:13) See how important the prayers are? (21:15) I've repeated it twice. (21:17) In the beginning about reverence and the prayer, and here it is regularity of the prayers. Speaker 4 (21:25) The latest miracle of their contact prayers is 17, 17, 17, 17, 17, 17, 15. (21:32) So if you miss one, it's going to be 17, 17, 16, 17, 17, 15, 15. (21:41) Not much, but it might be. Speaker 11 (21:42) Wow. Speaker 9 (21:45) How many do you need to miss if you miss one so you can make it up? Speaker 1 (21:49) We need to do research on that. (21:51) I'm just kidding. Speaker 5 (21:53) Actually, it's a very interesting question. (21:56) If you miss Maghrib, it will be 14. (22:00) If you miss any other one, the fourth will be 13, and if you miss the fifth, it will be 15. (22:08) But it's not 16. (22:10) Never 16. (22:12) 13. Speaker 1 (22:14) But Hadith joined us and he forgot one rakat. (22:17) It would have been 16. (22:18) I reminded him. (22:22) Were you here? Speaker 5 (22:23) No. (22:26) Who was he? Speaker 1 (22:30) Hadith joined us after one rakat, but he forgot that. (22:34) So if we all forgot, it would have been 16. Speaker 4 (22:38) So 16 is possible. Speaker 5 (22:40) It is possible. (22:42) It's really amazing. Speaker 1 (22:48) It's also simple. (22:49) Simple mathematically. (22:52) I mean, this is now covering every aspect of the prayer. (22:56) The number of rakats, the number of sujoods, the number of kashafat. (23:05) Number 9, and they observe the contact prayer, number 10, such are the inheritors. (23:12) They will inherit paradise wherein they abide forever. (23:17) And then there is a report with accurate embryology. (23:22) Well, this is what Behrouz was asking about yesterday. (23:27) We created a human being from a special kind of mud. (23:32) This is the initial creation. (23:36) Subsequently, we reproduced him from a tiny drop that is placed into a well-protected repository. (23:45) Then we developed the drop into a hanging embryo. (23:49) And developed the hanging embryo into a bite-sized fetus. (23:54) Maybe bite-sized is not a good word. Speaker 4 (24:00) Was it you? (24:01) Bite. (24:04) I think that's a good translation. (24:10) The fanatic Muslims say it looks like something you did. (24:16) Something you did. (24:19) Completely small. Speaker 7 (24:22) Tiny. Speaker 5 (24:24) Tiny fetus. (24:28) Yeah. Speaker 11 (24:29) Small. Speaker 5 (24:30) Small fetus. (24:32) Tiny fetus. (24:34) What stage is that? (24:36) The first 14 days the egg is still in shape. (24:41) This is like two months. (24:46) Two months. (24:47) Two months is when the care lot has the shape. (24:53) But you cannot tell which animal it is. (24:56) All the animals are the same. (24:58) Is that so? (24:59) All the animals are the same. Speaker 1 (25:06) Anyway, into a bite-sized fetus. (25:08) Then we created the bite-sized fetus into bones. (25:12) Then covered the bones with flesh. (25:14) Then produced a new creature. (25:16) Most blessed was God the rest of the years. (25:20) It's one of the amazing things. (25:25) We witnessed it. (25:27) We've all been through it. (25:29) Remember? (25:35) I love your reaction to my questions. (25:41) Such supportive sister. (25:45) Like yesterday. (25:47) Seems like yesterday. Speaker 5 (25:54) When we were born, that's when I signed the soul. (25:59) The soul was dead from the well of souls. (26:03) It comes to you. (26:05) How come I don't remember that stage? Speaker 1 (26:10) That's not the only time you don't remember. (26:12) Remember when you were a year and a half and your mom scrapped you? Speaker 5 (26:16) No, that's what I mean. Speaker 1 (26:18) The first two years, probably three years. (26:20) Yeah, because there's a capacity of memory in your brain. Speaker 7 (26:25) You need to add memory cards. Speaker 1 (26:33) If you want to remember everything. Speaker 5 (26:38) Some hardware. (26:39) The soul needs some other tools. (26:43) Like the brain. Speaker 1 (26:44) Yes, but the soul uses this physical body to grow. (26:48) This wild horse. (26:49) But as you do more important things, other things are pushed away out of your memory. (26:56) But actually, they never go away. (26:58) You know the subconscious? (26:59) It goes into storage. (27:04) Like the tapes that Lisa carries back and forth. Speaker 4 (27:07) It's her storage. (27:09) Memory. Speaker 1 (27:16) But you know, really, we are just one cell. (27:18) Each one of us is one cell. Speaker 4 (27:21) And differentiated, divided, differentiated into the different kidneys and livers, one cell. (27:33) Nose, eyes. (27:34) Look at the eye, how the eye is made. (27:41) Some sleepy eyes. (27:43) Some brighter eyes. Speaker 1 (27:46) It's a ball with a liquid inside that is precisely precious, precisely. Speaker 4 (27:52) If there is a big ball, the eyes are bugged out. Speaker 1 (27:59) Like Barbara Bush. (28:03) I mean, slightly. (28:05) If it's slightly less, it's a problem. (28:16) It's caused by the thyroid. (28:17) That's why. Speaker 7 (28:23) Do you remember the video? (28:25) Do you remember the day of resurrection? Speaker 1 (28:31) It's all there. (28:31) Fast forward and rewind to the right place. (28:34) As you get more things in there, other things are pushed down. Speaker 4 (28:40) Everything is there. (28:41) Actually, it's out there in the atmosphere. (28:45) Every voice, every picture. Speaker 7 (28:48) And the angels that are recording. (28:56) I've always thought of the angels as being external to my body. (29:02) But now I realize it's not because my heart hurts. (29:05) All those things happen by the will of God. Speaker 4 (29:13) It's a mechanism. (29:15) It's not an engine. (29:17) There's no engine to it. (29:19) It's a mechanism. (29:21) There's a gas. Speaker 1 (29:24) If your heart starts, there's an engine. (29:29) Yes, as a matter of fact, when our cars break down, when the mechanism fails, then God provides another mechanism. Speaker 4 (29:37) But there is a mechanism when you start the words and fuel, pump, pump, fuel into the pistons and the spark. Speaker 1 (29:50) There's something. (29:52) So this is the way our body works. Speaker 7 (29:58) I don't know. (30:02) I was trying to make the connection between the recording angels and the... Speaker 4 (30:09) This is simplifying it. Speaker 1 (30:12) A dramatization. (30:18) The heart is an incredible pump. Speaker 4 (30:21) If you have the heart pump itself, which is still, you know, recently, and if you shut away, nothing bad will happen. Speaker 1 (30:38) This is their function. (30:39) They're happy about it. Speaker 4 (30:42) But if you take the heart by itself, you can have it work in front of you. (30:46) In fact, the heart does plant flowers for you to do that. Speaker 1 (30:52) Ten, fifteen college students came here and they gave a spok to them from Pima College and he explained to them the miracle that there's a message from God to the world and gave them all the details they wanted about an hour and a half wanted them to ask questions and he thought that we'll have a Quranic study tonight so if you have any questions you can come and discuss the matter further. (31:39) But they never showed up. (31:40) Not one. (31:41) Not one of them showed up. (31:43) We have high school kids and he presents the miracle to them giving details but there's no response. (31:51) And we're just wondering what is wrong with the people. (31:54) Here's a message from God, proven to be from God. (31:58) It tells us who we are, why we are here, where we're going and how to attain perfect happiness now and forever. (32:08) But they're just like, they're under hypnosis. (32:11) Nothing moves them. (32:14) And we're just wondering. (32:16) It's a kind of amazing phenomenon. (32:18) So we're working on simplifying this and working on ways and means of perfecting the message and how to present it to the people to motivate them. (32:32) Make them realize that there is a message from God. (32:35) The first physical evidence in history. (32:39) And all the benefits that follow from this. (32:44) So I'm going to share with you these simple but powerful facts. (32:50) They're very simple to understand, simple to present and simple to appreciate. (32:55) And hopefully this will perfect the message somehow. (32:58) So what I'm going to talk with you today is just the word God in the Quran. (33:06) It's a very simple matter. (33:10) There's a scripture from God. (33:11) The most important word in it is the word God. (33:15) And we're going to look just at that. (33:18) Which is only one millionth of the total miracle. (33:23) Okay, number one the occurrence of the word God in the whole book. (33:32) All of you know this. (33:33) 2, 6, 9, 8. (33:37) 19 times 142. (33:42) Okay. (33:43) Then you take every verse in the Quran wherever you see the word God. (33:51) This is very simple as you see. (33:54) And add the numbers of these verses. (34:05) All the verses in the Quran that have the word God in them, just add the numbers. (34:11) They give you 1, 1, 8, 1, 2, 3. (34:18) 19 times 6, 1, 2, 7. (34:24) You know this alone really, this alone tells us that this book is from God. (34:29) It is not human made. (34:30) Who designed this? (34:33) And I have gone through lengths to show you how we college graduates are unable to keep track of these. (34:44) I mean the message is already here. (34:45) It's already written down. (34:46) It's in front of us. (34:48) But we're having a heck of a time keeping track of the words and the sentences. (34:55) And we keep screening mistakes. (34:59) It's very simple. (35:00) Sometimes we just reverse 3, 2, make it 23 when we count or when we add. (35:06) But this alone proves that the book is from God. (35:16) Okay, next. (35:21) This is a new discovery by Mahmoud Abid. (35:26) Now that we see there is 19 as a common denominator. (35:31) He looked at all the verses in the Quran that are numbered 19 or multiples of 19. (35:38) And counted the word God in them. (35:40) Very simple process. (35:44) These are the 19 multiples verses. (35:52) So he looks at surah al-baqarah number 2 looks at verse number 19 and counts the number of the word God in it. (36:00) Then goes to verse number 38, number 57 and so on. (36:03) And he did this in the whole Quran. (36:05) The word God in those verses 133. (36:20) Nobody in the whole world knows except the believers know this. (36:24) This is a new discovery. (36:26) It's been already faxed to India, Canada and some other places. (36:30) As soon as these things come up we have a fax machine now. (36:34) Everything is faxed around the world. (36:38) But anyway so now we carry this miracle one step further. (36:44) And it shows the more intricacy of the miracle. (36:49) It should convince anybody that we have a book from God. (36:54) But the word God is very important so it doesn't stop here. (37:00) The next item the sum of all the occurrences of the word God in the verses whose numbers are not multiples of 19 it follows. (37:15) 19 not multiples verses and it only follows from that it's 117 990 This is a mathematical property says Ali. (37:36) Even though it is a mathematical property I was oblivious to it for a while and I said yeah since the verses that are multiples of 19 have multiples of 19 numbers with God then it follows you just subtract this from this and you have that. (37:51) But it still is an important fact for us to remember. (37:56) Even though it is a mathematical property. (37:59) It doesn't stop here. (38:02) The surahs whose number of verses is divisible by 19 this also is a new discovery by Mahmoud Ali. (38:08) The surahs whose number of verses is divisible by 19 that is any surah that has 19 verses or 38 verses. (38:16) There are only these two kinds. (38:18) There are surahs number 47 which has 38 verses surah 82 which has 19 verses, surah 87 19 verses, and surah 96 consists of 19 verses. (38:29) The word God occurs in these surahs 27 times one time, one time, and one time respectively. (38:37) By adding these surah numbers plus the occurrences of the word God the total is 342. (38:44) So surahs plus occurrences 342 19 times 18 These are all the surahs in the Quran that consist of a number of verses that is divisible by 19. (39:09) And again we are counting the word God in them. (39:15) The next item I think I have to erase number 1 here. (39:27) It's just the word God. (39:32) Number 6 Ok The first set of Quranic initials is as you know ALM in chapter 2 begins with ALM The last initial is in chapter 68 It's a natural division in the Quran Let's call this the initial section from surah 2 to surah 68 and count the word God in it. (39:57) Sure enough it's a matter of 19 initial section from the first initial surah to the last initial surah. (40:07) The number of the word God is 2641 139 Now these are physical facts It is nobody's opinion Nobody can say in my opinion the number of occurrences of the word God in the initial section of the Quran is 2641 2641 Nobody can say that. (40:42) It's a physical fact (40:43) Just like the sun rises from the east (40:46) Nobody can argue about it (40:48) Maybe the Arabs (40:58) It follows since the total in the whole Quran (41:00) is a matter of 19, it follows that (41:03) outside the initial section (41:05) the number of occurrences of the word (41:07) God is 57 (41:08) 19 times 3 (41:11) Not only that, you take those 57 (41:13) occurrences outside (41:14) the initial section, add the surahs and verses (41:17) the total (41:18) Yes, it's a matter of 19 (41:28) And now we have (41:30) interlocking the word (41:31) God with the last two sentences (41:33) in surah 9. (41:35) As you know they are fake. (41:40) The idol worshippers who are trying to honor the Prophet Muhammad in the same way as the Christians try to honor Jesus, they made up those two verses So, surah 9 is either 129 verses as we inherited from the fabricators or now we know it is 127 Which one is it? (42:12) The word God gives us a clue (42:16) Because (42:17) if you take all the surahs (42:21) whose number of verses (42:22) ends with the digit 9 (42:27) Just look at the whole Quran (42:29) and take all the surahs (42:32) where the (42:33) number of verses ends with this digit (42:35) 9, and count the word (42:37) God in them (42:39) without surah 9 (42:41) Let us assume that (42:43) the right number is 127 (42:44) You can include it if you want (42:46) But if you include surah 9 (42:49) in this group (42:52) the number of the word (42:53) God is not divisible (42:54) Which tells us this is the wrong number of verses (42:57) If you put 127 (42:59) it is (43:02) divisible (43:03) Let me (43:04) It is stronger than that (43:08) The surahs (43:09) that end with the digit 9 (43:11) are surahs number 10, 15 (43:14) 29, 43 (43:15) 44, 48, 52, 57 (43:17) 81, 82, 87, 96 (43:19) and 104 (43:21) They consist (43:23) of 109 verses (43:25) 99 verses (43:26) 69, 89, 59, 29 (43:29) 49, 29, 29 (43:31) 19, 19, 19 and 9 (43:32) So you can see that all of them (43:34) have a number of verses that ends (43:37) with the digit 9 (43:37) When you count the word God in these (43:40) you have 190 (43:46) 19 times 10 (43:48) Now look at the Quran (43:50) and take all the surahs in the Quran (43:53) whose number of verses (43:55) ends with the digit 7 (43:57) including surah 9 (43:59) And these are surahs numbers (44:04) Surah number 1 is 7 verses (44:05) as you know (44:06) 1, 9 which is 127 (44:10) 25, 26 (44:11) 45, 86 and 107 (44:14) The number of verses (44:15) are 7, 127, 77 (44:17) 227, 37 (44:19) 17 and 107 (44:22) You count the word (44:23) God in them (44:25) and you get (44:30) 209 (44:32) This is 19 times 10 (44:36) This is 19 times 11 (44:39) So the word (44:40) God (44:42) just like the mathematical (44:44) code God (44:46) protects the Quran from any distortion (44:50) The word God by itself does that (44:52) Because it tells you (44:54) that surah 9 consists of 127 (44:56) verses, not 129 (44:58) Because if you take (45:00) what we inherited from the (45:01) fabricators (45:04) this phenomenon will disappear (45:07) Yes (45:08) Both of them will disappear (45:13) The number of verses in the word God (45:15) from the beginning of the Quran to the end of surah 9 (45:23) From (45:24) the first verse of surah 1 (45:27) to the last verse (45:28) of surah 9 which is 127 (45:31) that the (45:32) occurrences of the word God (45:34) is 1, 2, (45:36) 7, 3 (45:38) This is very unusual (45:44) because this is not true of every surah (45:46) in the Quran (45:48) But God saw to it (45:49) that at the end of surah (45:52) verse 127 in surah 9 (45:54) the total occurrences of the word (45:56) God is a multiple 19 (45:58) Not only that but it's also 127 (46:02) Yes (46:02) 1, 2, 7, 3 (46:05) So (46:07) If we take the 129 (46:09) verses that we inherited (46:11) from the falsifiers, we will have (46:13) 1, 2, 7, 4 (46:15) Not a multiple 19 (46:21) Finally (46:24) There is only one word God (46:27) in the last two verses (46:28) Yes (46:34) The last item here (46:36) add the number of surah 9 (46:38) Oh yeah (46:39) Let's add the number of surah 9 (46:42) Let's try this (46:49) Plus (46:51) The correct number of (46:53) verses, 127 (46:56) Plus the number (46:57) of occurrences of the word God (47:00) 168 (47:01) The total is 304 (47:06) 19 times 16 (47:08) This is just the word God (47:12) And there are of course (47:15) many other crucial words like the word (47:16) Rasool (47:18) The word Quran (47:20) The word One (47:21) It just goes on and on (47:23) But this is the word God (47:25) And when I simplify it (47:27) Did you just discover that? Speaker 6 (47:31) Yeah What else will you have miracles Ok Abdullah Mashallah There are 85 chapters that have the word God in it And if you take chapter number No, no, no, don't add that Chapter number And the last verse that God occurs in each chapter Is that the same one we have in the appendix? Speaker 1 (48:07) Or different? Speaker 6 (48:09) Chapter (48:09) For example, chapter 1 (48:11) The last verse that God occurs (48:13) is number 2 (48:14) So 1 plus 2 is 3 (48:17) If you take chapter 9 (48:19) The last verse (48:20) is 127, not 129 (48:23) You have 9 plus 127 (48:25) And therefore all 85 chapters (48:27) Yes (48:28) I think the result is 9101 (48:33) I'm not sure Speaker 1 (48:35) Yes, 9101 is divisible (48:40) Ok, I'm going to repeat (48:41) Just in case you missed it (48:44) The word God occurs (48:46) This is a good one (48:47) Beautiful (48:49) The word God occurs in 85 surahs (48:51) in the Quran (48:53) You take the number of the surah (48:56) and add it to the number of the last (48:58) verse where you see the word God in that surah (49:00) For example, in surah al-fatiha (49:02) Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Rahim (49:04) Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Rahim (49:05) Alhamdulillah Rabbil Alameen is number 2 (49:07) So add 1 plus 2 is 3 (49:09) for surah 1 (49:11) You do this in every surah of the 85 surahs (49:14) where the word God occurs (49:16) The number of the surah plus the last (49:18) verse where you see the word God (49:19) And this of course has to do (49:22) with surah 9 (49:24) When you come to surah 9 (49:25) you add 127 and not 129 (49:28) And you do this (49:29) with all 85 surahs (49:31) add up, the total is 9101 (49:33) which is a multiple of 19 (49:37) Tubu ilallah (49:51) Alhamdulillah (49:53) We praise God (49:54) Wa ash'hadu alla ilaha ilallah wahdahu la sharika lah (50:03) Last week (50:06) Muftasham (50:06) gave us an excellent report (50:12) Let me (50:13) come back to this (50:14) I just almost forgot this new discovery (50:16) that came to us in the mail from Turkey (50:19) And it has to do with (50:21) verse 381 Speaker 4 (50:24) This Speaker 1 (50:25) happens quite often (50:27) in the Quran (50:27) where you have a statement in the Quran (50:31) and the (50:32) opponents will come up with (50:34) something (50:36) contradictory to it (50:37) But then God puts the answer (50:40) to their claims (50:42) somewhere else in the Quran (50:45) For example, verse (50:46) 381 talks about (50:48) the message of the covenant (50:50) It says that after all the prophets (50:53) and this is any translation (50:54) will tell you that (50:55) After all the prophets have come to this world (50:58) and delivered their scriptures and the messages (51:00) a messenger will come to unify (51:02) purify, consolidate (51:04) these messages into one (51:06) This is verse 381 (51:09) When you show this (51:10) to the idol worshippers (51:12) they say that one is Muhammad (51:15) That messenger of the covenant (51:17) is Muhammad (51:18) Even though the verse (51:19) is very clear that it is not Muhammad (51:21) because it begins by (51:23) saying God made a (51:25) covenant with the prophets (51:28) We all recognize (51:29) the prophet Muhammad as a prophet, even they do (51:32) He was the last (51:33) prophet, therefore he must be (51:37) included in that statement, because God (51:39) did not say he made a covenant with (51:40) the previous prophets, or the prophets (51:43) before you, that's why (51:45) he made a covenant with the prophets (51:48) So (51:48) the answer to this claim is in 33 (51:50) 7 (51:53) Where God says (51:54) I made the covenant with the prophets (51:57) including you (51:58) Muhammad (52:00) So this is at the other end of the Quran (52:04) So it shuts him up (52:05) Now the discovery (52:07) No it doesn't Speaker 3 (52:08) Oh I'm sorry, not to shut him up Speaker 1 (52:11) but such of that particular (52:13) item (52:17) The (52:17) deep strength (52:18) in Turkey counted the verses from (52:20) 381 to the answer (52:22) to their claim 33 7 (52:24) and found that the number of verses is a multiple (52:26) of 19 (52:28) 3192 (52:30) Yes, the basmalat are verses (52:33) The basmalat (52:34) are unnumbered verses as we (52:36) know from this miracle of (52:38) the wall (52:40) where we did not count them (52:41) and the whole number (52:43) is a multiple of 19 (52:45) and when our brother Ali Fadili suggested (52:47) that we put zero for every basmalat (52:49) in the Quran, we thought this whole (52:51) thing would collapse, we shouldn't have thought that (52:53) but we put the zeros (52:55) there and sure enough it still (52:57) was a multiple of 19 (53:01) We are the luckiest (53:03) people on earth, there is no question (53:05) about it, anyway (53:09) with your help, all of us together (53:12) Fadili? (53:13) Only we know we are lucky We know we are lucky? Speaker 10 (53:16) Only we know that we are lucky Speaker 1 (53:17) Yes, that's what counts (53:22) Anyone who believes will discover that too (53:24) because they will join (53:26) the luckiest (53:29) I mean to be born at this (53:30) particular time, in this particular place (53:32) and all the circumstances that brought us (53:34) together, when you reflect on (53:36) your circumstances, you can see how (53:38) God directed you to this (53:40) particular situation, obviously (53:42) because you deserve it there (53:46) Ok, Mahdasham gave us an excellent khutba (53:48) last week and he talked about (53:49) the responsibility (53:51) which goes with the extreme (53:54) great fortune that God bestowed upon (53:56) us, his blessings and grace (53:59) comes the (53:59) responsibility (54:01) what is our responsibility (54:04) towards us (54:06) our souls (54:07) the real persons (54:09) because God (54:10) spreads it out to us, he tells us exactly what to do (54:14) so (54:16) I want to add to what Mahdasham said (54:18) is that we now (54:20) recognize that the human being (54:22) consists of the soul, that's the (54:24) real person (54:26) and the body (54:31) when a baby is born, the soul (54:34) is assigned to that (54:36) to that body (54:40) and the first thing that (54:41) as soon as shakira pulls the baby (54:43) out, the baby cries and she gives him (54:45) a spank, do you spank the babies (54:47) when you deliver them? (54:49) no? (54:50) do they cry anyway? (54:52) they always cry sometimes they don't cry? (54:58) they all cry I see, it helps them breathe I think they cry because they get trapped, but really I'm curious, all of them, 100% of them cry or do you get sometimes a baby that's still under anesthesia or something? Speaker 3 (55:15) no, if there is a problem, they don't cry oh, I see, so but also, if the baby comes, and the baby doesn't cry uh oh, there is another thing, wouldn't you cry if you came to this place? Speaker 8 (55:29) yes, but don't try to cry I'm sorry so what do we do what do we do for the body? Speaker 1 (55:45) let's say, what are our responsibilities to the body? (55:50) we go to school we study and take exams just ask Farhad how he likes that today, it's a big big premium and how many years we go to school? (56:08) so many years we go to college is college fun, Beth? (56:20) all the tests and the studying, how hard it is then you go to grad school oh no I used to get mad at people who tell me school is fun you know, how I say, you want to take my place? (56:39) ok, then (56:40) after that, we work (56:45) every morning (56:46) we set the alarm (56:49) we go to work (56:50) we drive in the traffic (56:52) Tucson is not as bad as other places (56:56) we drive (56:57) in the traffic (56:59) and we go to face the boss (57:05) everyone hates the boss (57:06) I don't know (57:06) I have to work until 5 o'clock Speaker 4 (57:11) we don't hate you Speaker 1 (57:12) I'm not the boss (57:15) this is a whole different (57:16) system here (57:17) in heaven there is no jealousy (57:19) there is competition (57:21) and everyone is helping his competitors to go ahead (57:24) this is it in God's system (57:26) God removes all jealousy (57:28) and hates you from his people (57:30) but this is what we do for the body (57:33) and why all this? (57:34) why do we do all this? (57:36) for 20 or 30 years or 40 years you start working when you are 30 and retire when you are 65 ok, 35 years we do all this because we want to support ourselves have a nice home, a nice spouse nice children, nice clothes nice food for the body for 35 years ok, what do we do for this? (58:02) you know, after after this 35 years what happens to the body? (58:07) cancer now it is the soil it vanishes here the soil doesn't vanish you can think of the soil at the time of birth as a baby what do we do for the soil? (58:24) this is the responsibility that Muftashim mentioned last week God tells us that we must do the five prayers we must feed the soul ask the average person on the street what did you give your body today for meals? (58:41) what did give you the soul today for meals? (58:45) you have to think long and hard ask them, not today say for the last year how many meals did you give to yourself? (58:56) they feed the body, they do all this work for the body but for the soul, they do nothing do you have a question? Speaker 10 (59:03) yes, you know I was thinking about this (59:05) when I was coming here (59:08) does he have a system (59:10) where he gives credits (59:12) I mean like if you do zakat (59:14) you get 50% and then for samad (59:17) you have 25% (59:18) and for hajj you have Speaker 1 (59:19) yes, you accumulate credits (59:22) as you go right and left (59:24) every time you say subhanallah (59:27) you see this is (59:28) in fact this brings me to the next one (59:30) thank you for reminding me (59:32) and this involves muftasim also (59:35) yesterday (59:35) I made a terrible, terrible mistake (59:38) anyway you get the idea here (59:39) that this is an eternal entity (59:43) this is the real soul (59:44) in proportion to this work (59:47) we should do (59:49) work for the soul (59:50) except God is just (59:51) and he doesn't give us even (59:54) 100s of this work that we do for the body (59:56) to survive 35 years (1:00:00) this eternal entity (1:00:01) doesn't take much to develop (1:00:03) God makes it very easy (1:00:05) as long as (1:00:07) you observe God (1:00:09) and this is bringing to the mistake (1:00:11) that I did with muftasim yesterday (1:00:14) muftasim was not feeling good (1:00:16) so anyway (1:00:17) I repented, I felt prostrate (1:00:19) and I asked for forgiveness (1:00:22) but I went and got him (1:00:23) two pills and I told him (1:00:25) listen to this (1:00:26) I said these two pills (1:00:28) will remove your flu (1:00:30) will heal you (1:00:35) Joseph the prophet (1:00:37) said the same thing and he stayed in prison (1:00:40) for a few years (1:00:42) we don't know how many (1:00:44) I mean (1:00:47) this is a remark (1:00:48) I want to (1:00:49) you are very special people (1:00:51) and you have a lot of responsibility (1:00:53) and you must watch what you say (1:00:57) and I bet you anything (1:00:59) how many years do you think (1:01:00) we should go to prison (1:01:03) when we think about it (1:01:07) so (1:01:08) immediately I caught myself (1:01:10) actually I scared him to death (1:01:12) because I came back and said muftasim (1:01:13) where are the pills (1:01:16) and he looked and I swallowed them already (1:01:19) I said I made a terrible mistake (1:01:27) we deserve (1:01:30) because he didn't tell me (1:01:31) this is wrong (1:01:33) we didn't say (1:01:35) by God's grace and his help (1:01:37) these pills (1:01:38) how many of us make this mistake (1:01:41) how often, don't answer me Speaker 4 (1:01:47) tonight inshallah (1:01:49) we are on page 64 (1:01:52) starting at verse (1:01:59) 8 Speaker 2 (1:02:12) A'udhu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem (1:02:14) Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem (1:02:18) as usual we ask God to help us (1:02:20) to understand (1:02:21) his words better (1:02:23) and remove all the barriers (1:02:25) from our hearts (1:02:29) verse 110 (1:02:30) I start from verse 110 (1:02:32) page 64 (1:02:35) you are the best community (1:02:37) ever raised among the people (1:02:39) you advocate righteousness (1:02:41) and forbid evil (1:02:42) and you believe in God (1:02:45) if the followers of this (1:02:47) scripture believe it will be better (1:02:49) for them (1:02:49) some of them do believe (1:02:52) but the majority are wicked (1:02:55) 111 (1:02:56) they can never harm you except for insults (1:02:59) if they fight you (1:03:01) they will turn around and flee (1:03:02) they can never be victorious (1:03:06) 112 (1:03:08) humiliation (1:03:09) is their lot wherever they go (1:03:11) unless they abide by God's covenant (1:03:13) and the people's covenant (1:03:15) they incurred wrath from God (1:03:17) consequently (1:03:19) they were committed to disgrace (1:03:21) this is because (1:03:23) they rejected God's revelations (1:03:25) and used to kill the prophets unjustly (1:03:27) this is because (1:03:29) they disobeyed and transgressed (1:03:32) 113 (1:03:34) they are not all the same (1:03:36) among the followers of this scripture (1:03:39) there are those (1:03:40) who are righteous (1:03:41) they recite (1:03:43) God's revelations through the night (1:03:45) and they fall prostrate (1:03:48) 114 (1:03:49) they believe in God and the last day (1:03:52) they advocate righteousness (1:03:53) and forbid evil (1:03:54) and they hasten to do righteous works (1:03:57) they are with the righteous (1:03:59) 115 (1:04:01) any good they do (1:04:03) will not (1:04:05) go unrewarded (1:04:06) God is fully aware (1:04:08) of who the righteous are (1:04:11) surely those (1:04:12) who disbelieve will never be helped by their money (1:04:14) or their children against God (1:04:16) they have incurred hell (1:04:18) worrying they abide forever (1:04:22) 117 (1:04:22) the example of their spending (1:04:24) in this world is like a violent (1:04:26) wind that hits (1:04:28) the harvest of the people (1:04:30) who wrong their souls (1:04:31) and wipes it out (1:04:33) God never wrongs them (1:04:34) it is they who wrong themselves (1:04:38) I stop at (1:04:39) 117 (1:04:41) and go back to 110 (1:04:49) I believe (1:04:50) as far as I could (1:04:54) look through the verses that we have (1:04:56) studies up to this point (1:04:57) from the beginning of the Quran (1:05:02) that this is the (1:05:04) first verse that God is (1:05:06) talking about the community (1:05:09) God is (1:05:10) saying that you are (1:05:12) the best community ever raised (1:05:14) among the people (1:05:17) and (1:05:19) you advocate righteousness (1:05:21) and forbid evil (1:05:23) if we review what (1:05:25) we have seen through (1:05:29) the (1:05:29) Al Baqarah (1:05:30) this second (1:05:32) surah and the third up to this point (1:05:38) what we have been told (1:05:40) what we have been taught is that (1:05:42) what we have to do as individuals (1:05:44) basically (1:05:46) what we have to do (1:05:48) to be righteous (1:05:50) how do we have to behave in (1:05:54) in the society (1:05:55) and how to take care of (1:05:56) ourselves as far as we are concerned (1:05:58) our own interests are concerned (1:06:00) now we are seeing (1:06:02) God telling us about the community (1:06:04) I go to the verse (1:06:06) 84 of this same (1:06:08) surah not too far (1:06:10) it's page 61 (1:06:15) the title (1:06:16) of it is make no distinction among God's (1:06:18) messengers (1:06:20) I see a relationship between (1:06:21) this community that God (1:06:24) is saying that we raised (1:06:26) among you people (1:06:28) these people who are in this (1:06:30) community they are saying (1:06:31) we believe in God and (1:06:33) what was sent down to us (1:06:36) and in what was sent down (1:06:38) to Abraham, Ishmael, (1:06:39) Isaac, Jacob and the (1:06:42) patriarchs and in what was given (1:06:43) to Moses, Jesus and the prophets (1:06:45) from their Lord we make no distinction (1:06:48) among any of them to him alone (1:06:49) we are Muslims (1:06:52) in this community if you (1:06:55) look at this verse 84 (1:06:57) it always covers (1:06:59) everyone that you can see (1:07:01) around you in this world (1:07:02) at the current time (1:07:08) if someone can (1:07:10) believe (1:07:10) and can uphold this (1:07:13) verse and see the world (1:07:15) and see the people (1:07:17) as all people (1:07:19) who only believe in (1:07:21) God and (1:07:23) what was sent down (1:07:25) to the people from him (1:07:27) then you won't see any (1:07:28) problem in the world (1:07:30) so this is one characteristic (1:07:33) of those people who are in (1:07:35) that community (1:07:35) then I go to two verses (1:07:38) 103 and 104 (1:07:40) the same just page 63 (1:07:46) unity a trait of the believers (1:07:48) you shall hold fast to the rope of God (1:07:51) all of you and do not be divided (1:07:53) so again (1:07:54) another characteristic of these (1:07:56) people (1:07:58) in this community (1:08:00) is that all of them (1:08:02) hold fast to the rope of God (1:08:04) because he is the one that (1:08:06) everybody is holding to (1:08:08) and do not be divided (1:08:10) this is a very important thing (1:08:12) don't be divided (1:08:13) why people get divided (1:08:15) what is the reason for the world being (1:08:18) such a nasty place to live in (1:08:20) what is all the division (1:08:21) what is it for (1:08:24) you see in the book (1:08:26) in this book in Quran (1:08:27) you don't see any trace of race (1:08:29) color, nationality (1:08:31) whatsoever or whatever you can think of (1:08:33) so even religion (1:08:35) everybody all the people (1:08:37) who are part of this community (1:08:40) they are all the same (1:08:41) because they hang on (1:08:43) to the rope of God (1:08:44) and they follow what he tells them to follow (1:08:47) so in this community (1:08:49) there is room for everyone (1:08:50) regardless of what shape they are (1:08:53) what color they are (1:08:54) what race they are (1:08:55) there is nothing (1:08:59) except believing in God (1:09:01) and being righteous (1:09:02) I continue on 103 (1:09:05) God says you used to be enemies (1:09:07) and he the God (1:09:09) reconciled your hearts (1:09:10) by his grace you became brethren (1:09:13) you were at the brink of a pit of fire (1:09:15) and he saved you (1:09:17) if you look around you in the world (1:09:19) everywhere you see (1:09:21) there is fire, there is bloodshed (1:09:23) there is killing, there is unrest (1:09:25) there is disease (1:09:27) and God thus explains his revelations (1:09:29) for you that you may be guided (1:09:32) I think (1:09:33) 104 is a good one too related to (1:09:35) the same issue (1:09:38) let there be a community (1:09:39) here God says let there be a community (1:09:42) of you who invite (1:09:43) to goodness, advocate (1:09:45) righteousness and forbid evil (1:09:47) these are the successful ones (1:09:49) in this verse God is telling (1:09:51) that he lays down the (1:09:53) conditions (1:09:55) if there wants to be a good (1:09:57) community of you (1:09:59) you have to invite to goodness (1:10:01) advocate righteousness and forbid evil (1:10:03) and then God is saying that (1:10:06) you are (1:10:07) the best community (1:10:09) ever raised, this is something (1:10:11) current, this is at the present time (1:10:13) and the future (1:10:16) he's talking to some people (1:10:18) he's telling them you are the best (1:10:20) if one, if (1:10:21) we think we are then we have to (1:10:24) analyze ourselves every (1:10:25) day and see whether (1:10:27) we are upholding what I read (1:10:29) to you from those verses which is (1:10:31) related to the conditions (1:10:34) you cannot say that ok (1:10:37) I go to this mosque, I do my (1:10:39) prayers and I'm one of the ones (1:10:41) who is the happiest, who is the best (1:10:43) you have to self-analyze (1:10:45) all the time and (1:10:47) to be able to be part of that community (1:10:50) to advocate righteousness (1:10:52) and forbid evil (1:10:53) these two words (1:10:55) advocating righteousness and forbidding evil (1:10:59) it is (1:10:59) part of the responsibility (1:11:02) of the believers (1:11:03) the people who believe in God (1:11:05) because up to this point whatever you saw (1:11:08) was something related to your personal (1:11:11) duties (1:11:12) like praying, like fasting (1:11:14) like hajj, like zakat, whatever (1:11:16) but now you are part of a community (1:11:18) this is your social responsibilities (1:11:20) to advocate righteousness (1:11:22) how do you do it? (1:11:25) God doesn't tell you how to do it (1:11:26) so you have to find a way to do it (1:11:28) the best way possible (1:11:30) if you are part of that community (1:11:32) that God is saying that you are (1:11:34) the best ever raised among the people (1:11:36) then the responsibilities that go (1:11:38) with it is huge (1:11:40) and how you approach it (1:11:42) how you do it is something that (1:11:44) depends on personal views (1:11:46) and how you approach it (1:11:47) but if you keep God (1:11:51) only (1:11:52) as your (1:11:54) final goal (1:11:55) and you could get rid of all the (1:11:58) egotistical issues (1:12:00) if you can't break down that (1:12:02) part of you who is (1:12:06) not (1:12:06) as (1:12:09) clean or (1:12:10) is not purified (1:12:12) then you can't do a good job (1:12:14) so you have to work on yourself (1:12:16) and then you can do (1:12:18) the rest of it much easier (1:12:23) and (1:12:23) if the followers of the scripture believe (1:12:26) it will be better for them (1:12:28) so if you face (1:12:29) other people from other (1:12:35) religions (1:12:36) if they follow (1:12:37) or if they (1:12:40) accept what you tell them (1:12:41) that's good for them (1:12:43) if not (1:12:45) so be it (1:12:46) some of them do believe but the majority are wicked (1:12:50) I go to (1:12:51) 1.11 (1:12:53) God is promising you that the people (1:12:56) that this community (1:12:58) who he is (1:13:00) who he is raising (1:13:03) and he is the (1:13:03) best community (1:13:04) he promises them that (1:13:07) they can never be harmed (1:13:09) nobody can harm you (1:13:13) they can (1:13:14) insult you (1:13:14) they can probably possibly (1:13:17) make some hardship for you (1:13:19) which would be (1:13:21) passing, it's not going to last (1:13:23) but God says that they can never (1:13:25) harm you (1:13:26) if they fight you, they will turn around and flee (1:13:29) they can never be victorious (1:13:31) this is a promise (1:13:33) that the victory is (1:13:35) for the people who are (1:13:37) worshiping God alone and are righteous (1:13:39) and they forbid evil (1:13:42) humiliation is (1:13:43) their lot wherever they go unless they do (1:13:45) abide by God's covenant (1:13:47) and the people's covenant (1:13:48) if you see 1.12, I guess it's (1:13:51) for the first time, forgive me if I'm not (1:13:53) right but I think (1:13:55) back to my (1:13:58) memory (1:13:59) I think it's the first time (1:14:01) that God mentions the (1:14:03) people's covenant in addition (1:14:05) to God's covenant, it's just right after (1:14:07) that (1:14:09) so humiliation (1:14:11) is their lot wherever they go unless (1:14:13) they abide by God's covenant (1:14:15) and the people's covenant (1:14:16) so if you are part of that community (1:14:19) if you are a member of that best (1:14:21) community ever raised (1:14:23) among the people, then (1:14:25) you have to abide by God's covenant (1:14:27) first, God alone, worshiping (1:14:29) alone (1:14:31) and people's covenant (1:14:33) what does that mean? (1:14:34) The understanding (1:14:35) that I have, and definitely it's (1:14:37) open for discussion (1:14:39) is the fact that (1:14:41) if (1:14:43) you are part of that community (1:14:45) if you belong to that (1:14:47) community, if you have all those (1:14:50) characteristics, then (1:14:51) you make a covenant, you have (1:14:53) to be faithful, you have to (1:14:55) be like brothers and sisters (1:14:57) and it's a family, it is a (1:14:59) community as I said, regardless (1:15:01) of all the issues (1:15:03) that cause in this world all the (1:15:05) division and all the hatred and (1:15:07) the wars and the fights and the battles (1:15:10) they incurred wrath (1:15:11) from God (1:15:13) consequently they were committed to (1:15:15) disgrace, this is because (1:15:17) they rejected God's revelation (1:15:19) and used to kill the prophets unjustly (1:15:21) this is because they disobeyed and transgressed (1:15:24) at this part of the (1:15:25) verse, God (1:15:27) is telling us, those (1:15:30) who (1:15:32) violate (1:15:32) any of those two covenants (1:15:35) this is what is happening to them (1:15:37) if you want to see a little bit (1:15:39) more from what we have studied up to this (1:15:41) point, I go to (1:15:43) surah 2, verses (1:15:45) 60 and 61 (1:15:48) which is page 9 (1:15:51) this is about Moses (1:15:53) and the children of Israel (1:15:55) recall that Moses sought (1:15:57) water for his people (1:15:59) and we said, stir up the rock (1:16:01) with your staff, where often (1:16:03) twelve springs gushed out therefrom (1:16:05) thus each tribe knew their (1:16:07) own water, eat and drink (1:16:09) from God's provisions and do not (1:16:11) roam the earth corruptingly (1:16:13) recall that you said (1:16:15) oh Moses, we can no longer (1:16:19) tolerate (1:16:19) one kind of food (1:16:21) call upon your Lord (1:16:22) to produce for us such earthy crops (1:16:24) as beans, cucumbers, garlic (1:16:26) lentils and onions (1:16:28) he said, do you (1:16:30) wish to substitute that which is (1:16:32) inferior for that (1:16:35) which is good? (1:16:36) maybe you should go back to Egypt (1:16:38) where you can find what you asked for (1:16:40) they were condemned to humiliation (1:16:42) and disgrace and they incurred God's wrath (1:16:45) that is because (1:16:46) they used to disbelieve in God's revelations (1:16:49) and killed the prophets of Joshua (1:16:50) that is because they disobeyed (1:16:52) and transgressed (1:16:54) so what this seems (1:16:56) and God is telling us about what has happened (1:16:58) in the past is that (1:17:00) if (1:17:03) you become fortunate (1:17:05) enough to become part (1:17:07) of that community (1:17:07) and then you cannot uphold your covenant (1:17:11) then (1:17:12) you are going to be humiliated (1:17:14) God is going to (1:17:17) reject you (1:17:18) and (1:17:21) humiliate you (1:17:24) and if you go (1:17:26) and take a look around (1:17:29) especially (1:17:31) it doesn't matter in (1:17:33) different religions (1:17:36) Muslims (1:17:37) who have the Quran (1:17:40) what is going on in the Muslim (1:17:42) world these days? Speaker 11 (1:17:44) laughter Speaker 4 (1:17:58) we see Speaker 2 (1:18:03) we see that the people (1:18:05) who were given this (1:18:07) scripture (1:18:09) who God sent the messenger (1:18:11) for them (1:18:13) and who they believe (1:18:14) the people who believe (1:18:16) that they are the ones (1:18:18) who are the Muslims in this world (1:18:21) they are going (1:18:22) through the most difficult times (1:18:25) right now (1:18:27) and (1:18:28) the only reason (1:18:30) I think (1:18:32) I can find for this is (1:18:34) not holding up (1:18:36) God's covenant and not holding (1:18:38) the people's covenant although (1:18:40) they try at least (1:18:42) they think they are trying (1:18:43) but they are going the wrong way (1:18:45) to create that (1:18:50) best community (1:18:51) because they are aware of this (1:18:53) verse and similar verses (1:18:55) in the Quran but (1:18:57) they are missing the main point (1:18:59) which is God's revelations (1:19:01) and God's and (1:19:03) worshipping God alone and getting rid of (1:19:05) all the idols that (1:19:07) jump up from everywhere (1:19:09) in those countries (1:19:11) I go to (1:19:12) verse 13 (1:19:15) here God talks about (1:19:17) as the title says (1:19:18) righteous Jews and Christians (1:19:20) they are not all the same (1:19:22) meaning the Jews and the Christians (1:19:25) from the other (1:19:27) the followers (1:19:29) of the other scripture (1:19:31) they are not all the same (1:19:32) among the followers of this scripture (1:19:34) there are those who are righteous (1:19:35) they recite God's revelations through the night (1:19:38) and they fall prostrate (1:19:39) so if (1:19:41) this is another good example of (1:19:46) a community (1:19:48) which all the boundaries are broken (1:19:51) if there are Jews (1:19:52) or Christians (1:19:54) who are upholding the God's (1:19:56) scripture they believe in God (1:19:58) and they prostrate and God is telling (1:20:00) us I don't have to go (1:20:02) and find it there are people who are (1:20:04) Jews and Christians in the world (1:20:06) who are righteous (1:20:08) who recite God's revelations (1:20:10) how they do it I don't know (1:20:12) but God is telling me that they do that (1:20:14) so they could be part of that (1:20:16) community that good community that is (1:20:18) raised among the people the best community (1:20:20) they believe in God and the last day (1:20:23) two major conditions (1:20:24) of being a believer (1:20:26) they advocate righteousness and forbid evil (1:20:28) the same two (1:20:30) uh (1:20:33) duties (1:20:34) that I mentioned in 110 (1:20:35) and God is mentioning in 110 (1:20:37) they advocate righteousness and they (1:20:39) forbid evil and they hasten (1:20:41) to do righteous works (1:20:43) they are with the righteous (1:20:48) 115 any good they do (1:20:49) will not go unrewarded (1:20:52) God is fully aware (1:20:53) who is righteous clear (1:20:55) there is no explanation for this (1:20:57) very clear said (1:21:00) 116 surely those (1:21:03) surely (1:21:03) those who disbelieve will never be helped (1:21:05) by their money or their children against (1:21:07) God they have incurred hell (1:21:10) wherein they abide forever (1:21:14) I take you to (1:21:16) verse 10 of the same (1:21:18) surah (1:21:20) surah 3 (1:21:24) disbelievers always ultimate (1:21:26) losers (1:21:28) see the difference in the (1:21:30) language of the two verses (1:21:32) those who disbelieve cannot be helped (1:21:34) by their money or children against (1:21:36) God they are the fuel (1:21:38) of hell (1:21:39) but here God says surely those who disbelieve (1:21:42) will never be helped (1:21:44) by their money or (1:21:46) their children against God (1:21:48) over there in (1:21:50) verse 10 it seems to me at least that (1:21:52) God is telling us they cannot be (1:21:54) helped but it seems that (1:21:56) the door is left open for (1:21:58) them so that the (1:22:00) righteous people can (1:22:02) go do their (1:22:04) duties you know tell them to (1:22:06) forbid evil and (1:22:08) they can advocate righteousness tell them (1:22:10) what the right is what the wrong is (1:22:12) but if you do and (1:22:14) you see examples (1:22:16) I guess every one of us has that experience (1:22:18) that you try (1:22:20) you try to give (1:22:22) the message (1:22:24) and try to tell them what is right (1:22:27) what God (1:22:28) wants them to do but (1:22:30) they don't (1:22:32) listen and here God (1:22:34) says surely those who disbelieve (1:22:36) will never be helped by their money or (1:22:38) this is the ultimate (1:22:40) or by their children (1:22:43) against God (1:22:44) they have incurred hell wherein they abide (1:22:46) forever and verse 17 (1:22:49) the example of the spending (1:22:51) in this world is like a violent (1:22:53) wind that hits the harvest of people (1:22:55) who wrong their souls and wipes it out (1:22:57) God never wrongs them (1:22:59) it is they who wrong themselves (1:23:05) I had a little bit of a hard time (1:23:07) to exactly understand what this (1:23:08) verse means but (1:23:10) I give you what my understanding is (1:23:12) from it (1:23:15) it seems that (1:23:18) it is (1:23:20) alluding to the fact that (1:23:24) people (1:23:27) who have a (1:23:28) lot of money that they can spend (1:23:31) and they spend (1:23:32) it and they try to (1:23:34) spend it for (1:23:37) as (1:23:38) they consider it for God (1:23:40) or they (1:23:41) the donations (1:23:43) they go on TV and donate (1:23:45) a million dollars to this good cause (1:23:47) because it is tax deductible (1:23:49) and they make sure that they show the (1:23:51) numbers on TV and everywhere (1:23:54) and (1:23:56) they do (1:23:57) these things and then (1:23:58) they go and corrupt (1:24:01) using the Quranic (1:24:05) wording (1:24:05) they corrupt the earth and then (1:24:07) they expect that God (1:24:09) should give them back something (1:24:11) they donated a million dollars or a hundred dollars (1:24:13) or one dollar for God (1:24:15) and then, you know, why (1:24:18) they didn't get (1:24:19) anything back (1:24:20) and I think God is saying (1:24:23) that whatever, God never wrongs (1:24:25) them, God doesn't want bad for anyone (1:24:27) so whatever we do (1:24:29) is a consequence of what (1:24:31) whatever we (1:24:33) get is a consequence of whatever (1:24:35) we have done and God (1:24:37) says very clearly, He never wrongs (1:24:39) them, it is they (1:24:41) who do wrong themselves (1:24:43) I want to stop here (1:24:45) and let go for (1:24:47) some discussions and comments and questions (1:24:49) but before that (1:24:51) I have to (1:24:53) mention something about, because this (1:24:55) is about the best community (1:24:56) and I was watching (1:24:59) 60 Minutes (1:25:01) last Sunday (1:25:02) and if you ask people who have traveled (1:25:05) around the world (1:25:06) at least, if you say give me a country (1:25:09) that is one of the best ones (1:25:11) I can go and live there (1:25:12) usually Switzerland is one of the names that (1:25:14) comes out, you know, whoever (1:25:16) I have been there once a few, about five days (1:25:19) especially Zurich, it's a (1:25:20) beautiful place, it's so clean (1:25:22) the first time I was there (1:25:24) I thought that people wash their cars (1:25:27) three times a day because it's so (1:25:29) clean and so nice (1:25:30) no police in the streets, you can go out (1:25:33) anytime you want (1:25:35) and of course all the money in the world (1:25:37) is the free banking system (1:25:39) all the money from everywhere goes there (1:25:41) the problem that (1:25:42) I saw in the 60 Minutes (1:25:45) there is a beautiful park (1:25:47) around the lake in the middle of Zurich (1:25:50) and this park (1:25:51) has become (1:25:53) the center for drug users (1:25:55) and drug addicts (1:25:57) it was so (1:26:00) sad, so tragic (1:26:01) to see those, what they have done (1:26:03) is that young people (1:26:05) in the ages of 15 to 30 (1:26:07) very young (1:26:09) they come to this park (1:26:11) and using drugs (1:26:12) in that park, dealing it is free (1:26:14) although drug dealing and using (1:26:17) in Switzerland is (1:26:19) against the law (1:26:20) but the government according to CBS (1:26:22) has let this area (1:26:25) to be an area for (1:26:26) drug use and drug dealing (1:26:28) because (1:26:29) they think with this (1:26:31) they are containing (1:26:34) the problem in that one area (1:26:36) and the documentary was saying that (1:26:38) the number of these people in this (1:26:40) place has risen in the last (1:26:42) year so (1:26:45) so much (1:26:46) and then what they do (1:26:48) rather than advocating (1:26:50) righteousness and (1:26:52) forbidding people from doing evil (1:26:54) they distribute plain needles (1:26:56) the government sponsors (1:26:58) that because they want to stop (1:27:00) the spread of the AIDS (1:27:02) among those (1:27:03) so they are free to come and get free (1:27:06) needles to use it for injecting (1:27:08) drugs in the body (1:27:09) and they were interviewing some of these (1:27:12) young people who were (1:27:14) 20, 18, 21 years (1:27:16) old and asking them (1:27:18) you know, what you live for (1:27:20) they said nothing (1:27:21) the only thing that I live for is my next (1:27:25) injection, my next round (1:27:27) of drug (1:27:28) and (1:27:31) they asked one of these (1:27:32) kids was the (1:27:35) son of one of (1:27:37) the big shots in the government (1:27:39) and (1:27:40) I think it was Mike Wallace asked him (1:27:42) ok, what does your dad, how does your (1:27:44) dad do this, why (1:27:46) you know, he has so much money (1:27:48) and he said, doesn't (1:27:50) he feel that these empires (1:27:52) with so much money can do anything about this (1:27:54) where is the morality (1:27:56) and he answered that (1:27:57) when he goes he's a moral man (1:28:00) but when he goes to work (1:28:02) he leaves his morality at home because (1:28:04) business doesn't have anything to do with the (1:28:06) morality, that's business so (1:28:08) he has to do his job but when he comes home (1:28:10) he's worried about what happens (1:28:11) but that was a very good example (1:28:14) of what is really happening (1:28:16) to (1:28:18) the youngsters (1:28:20) of this world (1:28:21) and in the heart (1:28:24) of a country (1:28:26) and a city that is known as (1:28:28) one of the best places (1:28:29) the heaven of the rich (1:28:32) the heaven of the people (1:28:34) and this was (1:28:37) an example (1:28:38) of which I thought (1:28:40) was very (1:28:41) moving and very ironic (1:28:43) so I stop here (1:28:46) and (1:28:48) ask for any (1:28:49) questions or comments Speaker 4 (1:28:51) I think I will open (1:29:03) did somebody ask a question (1:29:05) I will open the discussion Speaker 1 (1:29:07) with verse 115 (1:29:10) where it says (1:29:11) any good they do will not go unrewarded (1:29:13) God is fully aware (1:29:14) of who the righteous are (1:29:17) we shall have the righteous Jews and Christians (1:29:19) as we learned from (1:29:21) surah 19 (1:29:23) they lost (1:29:24) the contact trails (1:29:27) for example (1:29:28) they do not do the five trails (1:29:31) five trails are very very very (1:29:33) infinite very important (1:29:36) because they go a long (1:29:37) way towards (1:29:39) proving that God the creator of the heavens (1:29:41) and the earth is our God (1:29:43) they remind us of God (1:29:44) and they have benefits that we just cannot (1:29:48) overestimate (1:29:49) overemphasize (1:29:51) so the Jews and Christians do not have the five trails (1:29:53) these righteous Jews (1:29:55) and Christians described here (1:30:00) they recite God's revelations (1:30:02) through the night and they (1:30:04) trust faith (1:30:05) they advocate righteousness, they forbid evil (1:30:08) and they hasten to do righteous works (1:30:10) charitable works and so on (1:30:14) and this is why God is saying that (1:30:15) these things will not go unrewarded (1:30:18) so they will be rewarded for this (1:30:19) but it is nothing compared to (1:30:22) the specific set (1:30:24) of rights that God (1:30:25) prescribes for us, the prayers, the fasting (1:30:28) of Ramadan (1:30:29) as you know within our lifetime (1:30:32) the Christians for example lost their fasting (1:30:35) first there was (1:30:36) no meat on Friday (1:30:38) and in Easter (1:30:39) what is it? (1:30:41) Lent Speaker 4 (1:30:42) they used to give up important (1:30:44) things, now they give up (1:30:47) macadamia nuts Speaker 1 (1:30:51) so they lost the fasting (1:30:53) they lost the contact prayers (1:30:56) and these are the important (1:30:57) things that cause our souls to (1:30:59) grow and develop (1:31:00) this is a very important verse, 115 (1:31:04) the implication (1:31:06) from the Arabic text (1:31:07) and I hope this is reflected in the English (1:31:09) is that these are (1:31:11) all good things, they recite God's revelations (1:31:13) they vote for us straight, they are righteous (1:31:15) they advocate righteousness, they forbid evil (1:31:18) they have high moral standards (1:31:19) they are truthful and honest (1:31:21) but all these things (1:31:23) all these things combined will be (1:31:25) a small fraction (1:31:27) of what we get from the five daily (1:31:29) prayers for example (1:31:32) the five daily prayers are so important that Speaker 9 (1:31:36) are they the most important for other people? Speaker 1 (1:31:39) definitely
