Messenger Audio 36.1 (28-Jan-1983)
(0:00) I'm going to start this khutba from the Bible. (0:15) It may be strange, but God tells us in the beginning of the Quran that we must believe in three descriptions. (0:22) And the Bible is 90% truth, 10% distortions, (0:27) and unfortunately most people take the 10% distortion and make it the doctrine of the Church. (0:36) So we have the Quran as the criterion to correct any deviations. (0:42) We'll read from Genesis 6, 11. It says, (0:48) In the eyes of God, the earth was corrupt and full of lawlessness. (0:53) When God saw how corrupt the earth had become, since all mortals lived depraved lives on earth, (1:04) He said to Noah, I have decided to put an end to all mortals on earth. (1:10) The earth is full of lawlessness because of them, so I will destroy them and all life on earth. (1:19) Make yourself an ark. (1:23) So the idea is, when there is too much lawlessness on earth, disobedience of God, (1:35) and non-adherence to the oneness of God, God destroys the earth. (1:43) I want to use this to point out to you that you probably saved the earth. (1:54) You, because you are people who believe in God alone, (1:58) you do not idolize Muhammad or Jesus or Mary or any saint or anyone or anything. (2:07) You, because you have reached the conviction that God alone is king, (2:15) and God alone rules the world and rules your life, every minute detail in it. (2:22) Nobody controls your life. You have come to this conviction. (2:25) You know that your boss has no authority on you. (2:29) God controls the minds and hearts of everybody, including the people around you. (2:35) Your boss, your spouse, your children, your parents, everybody. You have come to that conclusion. (2:44) Back in 1977, did we start the mosque in 77 or 78? 78? 78. (2:55) This mosque was established because we came to the conclusion that Quran, like God says, is the only source. (3:05) This is why this mosque started. (3:07) But before that, we want to look together on the earth. (3:11) Now God looked at the earth in Noah's time and he said, (3:14) nobody believes in God alone and there is too much lawlessness. (3:18) So I'm going to destroy the earth and wipe out everybody. (3:22) That's what God said. We have it in the Quran and we have it in the Bible. (3:30) Now of all the millions of Christians you see on earth, how many believe in God alone? (3:39) How many believe that Jesus is a human being who has no power to do anything? (3:44) A helpless, dead person. How many of the Christians believe that? (3:49) And I worship God alone. Of all the millions, of all the millions of Muslims on earth, (3:57) how many believe God when he says Quran alone? How many? (4:02) How many mosques on earth say ash-hadu an la ilaha illallah without any other names in the adhans? (4:10) How many? None. (4:13) You very probably saved the earth because everybody was corrupt. (4:19) How many Jews adhere to the book of God alone and do not follow hadith and sunnah? (4:27) How many? None. (4:29) They all follow hadith and sunnah. They don't follow the Quran. (4:36) Exactly the words hadith and sunnah, they call it sunnah. (4:39) In their language it's called the mishnah, which means oral or hadith, (4:44) and gemara, which means traditions or sunnah. Mishnah and gemara. (4:48) They follow the mishnah and gemara. They do not follow the Quran. (4:54) So these are the people who believe in God. (4:58) And they were all corrupt. They are all corrupt. (5:04) It probably was a blessing from God that I worked for the United Nations and traveled in every Muslim country, (5:10) and everywhere I dug up the most religious of every country, (5:16) and haven't seen one place that does not praise and worship Muhammad day and night, (5:23) instead of God, or beside God. I mean, they worship God, (5:27) and they pray the five prayers exactly to God, (5:31) but they insert names of Muhammad and Ibrahim in their prayers. (5:36) I haven't seen one place on earth that worships God alone. (5:50) When corruption takes over the earth, there is no need for the earth to exist. (5:58) The end of the world will come because there will be no one who worships God alone. (6:04) But it has been in God's knowledge and predestination that the mosque of Tucson will come to be, (6:12) that people will worship God alone. (6:15) This is the only mosque on earth that says ash-hadu an la ilaha illallah, without any other names. (6:22) By the way, we had three people here, you saw me discuss things with them, (6:26) and they were angry because in our adhan, (6:30) we say ash-hadu an la ilaha illallah, guess why they were angry? (6:34) Can anybody make a guess? Who said that? (6:39) Yeah, because they didn't say Muhammad? You're wrong. (6:43) No, because we don't mention the name of Ali. (6:49) They happen to be Shiites. (6:53) We don't say ash-hadu an la ilaha illallah. (6:57) To each his idol, you know. (7:00) So I mean, when we did our adhan, I was just like Fatima, I said yeah, (7:04) when we mention the name of Allah alone, but they went on to indicate it was because Ali's name was not there. (7:14) But this is the only mosque in the world that mentions the name of Allah alone, (7:18) and worship Allah alone in our dhikr. I joined the dhikr on every spot on earth. (7:26) There isn't any dhikr that has only the name of God. (7:30) And when corruption spreads in this way, God destroys the earth. (7:40) I want you to look at the Quran, at surah 30, verse 41. (7:57) That is page 278. (8:02) Verse 41 says, (8:05) Corruption has prevailed throughout the land and sea due to the people's work. (8:12) In my new translation, I'm going to have this, misery, instead of corruption, misery. (8:17) Therefore, he makes them suffer, well, it's self-explanatory. (8:20) He makes them suffer the consequences of their works, that they may return. (8:30) It's very, very possible that you saved the earth. (8:37) Do you hear what's happening in California? (8:40) Did you see what happened to Malibu Beach? (8:44) All those mansions turned into sticks. (8:49) This is God. God is angry at California. (8:51) This is California from border to border, from Mexico to Oregon. (8:56) It's being slammed, hit. (8:59) Unbelievable, the pictures that you saw. (9:02) It is believable, of course. God is angry at California. (9:08) As we see in the Bible and the Quran, and God's law never changes. (9:14) Back in 1977, there was no one on earth, that I know of anyway, that worshipped God alone. (9:24) They always had idols beside them. (9:27) Look at the Christians, the Jews, the Muslims. (9:30) And it is an unfortunate fact of life, what I want to show you in this slide. (9:37) Can you turn the light off? (9:44) This is a statement in the Quran. (9:47) It says, the majority of people, no matter what you do, will not believe. (9:54) And this statement here says, the believers. (9:57) The majority of people will not even believe in God. (10:00) And then you take the minority, that is the believers, (10:02) and God says, a statement of fact that is assured by two double negatives. (10:10) That the majority of the minority, the majority of the believers, are idol worshippers. (10:17) Mushrikun, idol worshippers. (10:20) They worship God, but they also idolize Muhammad, or Jesus, or Mary, or somebody, or something. (10:27) They just cannot come all the way to la ilaha illallah, to worshipping God alone. (10:34) So if you are with the majority, you are in deep trouble. (10:39) Even if you are with the majority of the minority. (10:43) If you are with the minority of believers, you have to find out, (10:47) are you in the majority of this minority, or are you in the minority of the minority? (10:51) You're elite of the elite. (10:56) And it's very difficult. (11:00) Problem is, these people who are believers, but they fell into idol worship, (11:05) they think they are righteous. (11:08) They sincerely think they are righteous. (11:11) As we see up here. (11:12) They think that they are rightly guided. (11:15) They think that they are rightly guided. (11:19) They think they are rightly guided. (11:20) Repeated in the Quran. (11:23) And here, this is a verse that you're familiar with. (11:25) On the Day of Judgment, where they say, By God our Lord, we were not idol worshippers. (11:32) On the Day of Judgment, face to face with Allah. (11:35) And they swear that they were not idol worshippers. (11:43) If you still have the same page, 30-41. (11:52) I'm going to go on to page 278. (11:56) Say, travel the earth and see the consequences for those before you. (12:00) Or look at California. (12:02) The majority of them were idol worshippers. (12:06) Therefore, you shall devote yourself to the perfect religion. (12:10) Before a day comes that is inevitable. (12:14) On that day, the people will be stunned. (12:19) Whoever disbelieves causes his own detriment. (12:23) And those who want righteousness do so for their own good. (12:28) God bestows His grace upon those who believe and want righteousness. (12:33) While those who disbelieve are disbelieving in Him. (12:57) When you come to la ilaha illallah, you deserve a fantastic reward. (13:03) Because as you see, you are a very small minority of the minority. (13:11) You're a very special person when you come to la ilaha illallah. (13:16) And Satan will concentrate all his forces on you. (13:21) He does not want you to make it. (13:23) Because when you make it, making it means kingship on earth. (13:27) Sovereignty on earth. (13:29) And ruling all your surroundings. (13:31) Perfect happiness in this world and in the hereafter. (13:35) And that's nothing easy. (13:37) I mean, to qualify for Razaab, you go to the university and work your head off for four years. (13:44) To qualify for Razaab. (13:47) So to qualify for kingship on earth, what do you expect? (13:50) It's very difficult. (13:52) And this is why... (13:57) Let's look at Surah 29. (14:05) H270 (14:09) ALM (14:09) Do the people think they will be left to say, We believe, without being put to the test? (14:15) We have tested the generations before them. (14:18) For God must distinguish those who are truthful from those who are liars. (14:22) You will not be left alone to say, I believe. (14:27) You have to be put to the test. (14:29) And it is a severe test. (14:31) Because there is too much at stake. (14:35) There is kingship on earth at stake. (14:37) There is perfect happiness. (14:39) So you have to be put to the test. (14:40) Because God wants to show you to the angels. (14:46) And to tell them, look at my creature. (14:48) Under any circumstances, he believes in me. (14:51) Look at Surah 12. (14:56) 38. Let's start at 38. (14:58) Surah 12. (15:04) 38. (15:06) Page 158. (15:09) This is Joseph speaking. (15:11) I follow the religion of my fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. (15:15) We never worship anything besides God. (15:19) This is but grace from God upon us and upon the people. (15:22) But most people are not appreciative. (15:25) Now, let's go on to 39. (15:28) O my present companions, is it better to have several idols or one God, the most powerful? (15:37) You only idolize besides God idols that you make up. (15:41) You and your parents. (15:43) God never places any power in them. (15:46) Kingship belongs only to God. (15:47) He commanded that you shall not worship except him. (15:50) This is the perfect religion. (15:52) But most people do not know. (15:54) Now here is Joseph preaching one God. (15:56) And worshiping one God. (15:57) And where is he? (15:59) In prison. (16:01) He is a prophet of God. (16:04) In prison. (16:07) Because God wants to show the angels and Satan that look at my servant Joseph. (16:14) Look at my creature Joseph. (16:17) It doesn't matter what condition he is in. (16:19) And he knows I am the king. (16:20) And he worships me alone. (16:23) Look at 42. (16:27) He then said to the one to be saved, remember me as your lord, the king. (16:33) But the devil made him forget to remember him as his lord. (16:37) And Joseph remained in prison a few more years. (16:40) A prophet of God, Joseph, who preaches the one God. (16:44) And just like that, a few more years in prison. (16:49) Some people come to me and say, I've been a Muslim two weeks. (16:52) Why am I having all these problems? (16:57) Patience. (16:58) You have to have patience. (17:01) Here is Joseph in prison. (17:05) And the man who was supposed to save him, he forgot. (17:08) So Joseph stays in prison a few more years. (17:13) But listen, you're guaranteed kingship on earth. (17:17) Let us go on to verse 90. (17:21) Same surah of Joseph. (17:29) What does 90 say? (17:31) Page 162. (17:33) They said, you must be Joseph. (17:35) It's his brothers. (17:36) He said, I am Joseph. (17:38) And this is my brother. (17:39) God has been gracious to us. (17:41) If anyone works righteousness and steadfastly perseveres. (17:46) This is required. (17:47) Patience. (17:48) Steadfastness. (17:49) Perseverance. (17:51) You can't come to Islam six months and then demand kingship on earth. (17:56) You must steadfastly persevere. (17:59) You must prove that you really believe under any circumstance. (18:04) You have to be put to the test. (18:06) But you are in God's eyes throughout the test. (18:10) He may push you to the brink, but he will always watch over you. (18:14) You will never fall. (18:15) Because if you fall, he'll hold you back. (18:18) But you will be on the brink. (18:19) Because God wants to be proud of you. (18:21) And he wants to tell Satan and the angels, look at my creature. (18:25) Doesn't matter what conditions he's in. (18:27) Now look at 110 of the same surah. (18:32) Page 164. (18:34) Just as the messengers reach the point of despair and imagine that they have failed. (18:39) Our victory comes to them. (18:41) We then save whomever we will. (18:44) While the guilty can never evade our retribution. (18:48) So when you reach the point of despair, you are a believer in God alone. (18:54) Nothing changes your conviction. (18:57) Then comes kingship on earth. (18:59) Joseph was a king on earth. (19:01) And he was controlling the provisions for the whole Middle East. (19:06) His brothers came from Palestine all the way to Egypt to beg for grain. (19:11) And he was giving them a camel load per person. (19:15) He decided that. (19:17) He was in full control of that. (19:18) He was a king on earth. (19:20) His brothers, his parents, they fell prostrate before him. (19:24) This is what is guaranteed to you. (19:28) But you have to steadfastly persevere. (19:30) You have to prove yourself. (19:38) What happens in the test, it is an agreement that God has with Satan. (19:45) He says, you go and do anything you want. (19:49) And if you can take them, they are yours. (19:51) Now we are, Satan is our most ardent enemy. (19:55) And when you come to la ilaha illallah, he will come and tempt you with your most urgent needs. (20:02) If you need money, he will tempt you with money. (20:07) If you need sex, he will tempt you with sex. (20:10) If you need whatever is your most urgent need, he will tempt you with that. (20:14) To take you away from la ilaha illallah. (20:19) And if you fall, his bait is delicious and powerful. (20:24) The bait for the fish must be the best. (20:27) You go and you, when you go fishing, you pick out the best bait. (20:30) Salmon, eggs. (20:32) We must find something better. (20:33) Worms, whatever. (20:35) The bait must be fantastic for the fish. (20:38) But as soon as you catch the fish, what do you do to it? (20:41) You cut its head and you fry it in oil. (20:43) You take its intestines out. (20:45) This is what Satan will do to you. (20:48) Once he has you. (20:50) Because he is our enemy. (20:52) So the test is very powerful. (20:57) This is why Job said the following in surah 38. (21:01) Look at surah 38, verse 41. (21:09) 38, 41. (21:11) Top of page 312. (21:13) Recall our servant Job. (21:15) He called his lord, saying, (21:17) The devil has afflicted me with disease and suffered. (21:21) See, it's not God who really afflicted him. (21:23) See, what happened as we learn from the story of Job, (21:26) is that God was proud of Job. (21:29) And he was telling the angels and Satan, (21:31) Look at my servant Job. He worships me alone. (21:35) You know, they are very rare people. (21:37) The people who worship God alone are very rare. (21:40) And God was proud of Job at the time. (21:43) And he was telling the angels, (21:44) Look at my servant Job. (21:46) And Satan said, Well, look at him. (21:48) He is rich. He has a family. (21:51) He is not under any pressure. (21:53) So why shouldn't he worship you? (21:56) And God said, Okay. (21:57) I'm going to lend you Job for a while. (21:59) Now remember, Job is always in God's eye. (22:01) And Satan has limits where he can go. (22:05) So Satan started to work on Job. (22:09) And this is why you see, recall our servant Job. (22:12) He called his lord, saying, (22:14) The devil has afflicted me with disease and suffered. (22:18) He knows. See, Job knows. (22:22) And so, God may lend you to Satan for a while. (22:27) And if Satan can take you, you're his. (22:31) Just like when you catch a fish. (22:33) It's going to fry you. (22:43) You must steadfastly persevere. (22:45) And you cannot flunk a test. (22:47) And when you flunk a test, you regress. (22:49) You start again at square one, square zero. (22:55) So we have to turn to God right now and do two things. (22:58) First, thank Him for saving the planet Earth because of us. (23:04) Thank Him for guiding us. (23:06) Whatever led our steps to this place, me and you. (23:11) This is the greatest blessing that ever happened to you. (23:15) And we have to thank God for it. (23:17) Then we're going to ask God to keep us on the path. (23:20) Steadfastly persevere, no matter what happens. (23:24) Steadfastly persevere. (23:25) La ilaha illallah. (23:26) Nothing will take us away. (23:28) Tumu ila Allah. (23:48) Alhamdulillah. (23:50) Wa ashadu an la ilaha illallah wahdahu la sharika lah. (23:53) I have been talking in the last khutbahs about situations in the hereafter. (24:00) Actual situations in the hereafter. (24:03) And in my last khutbah, I talked to you about the verse that you saw here. (24:07) Where God gathers people and asks them, what are the idols to help you? (24:11) And they say, by God our Lord, we were not idol worshippers. (24:14) It's an actual situation where people are not aware now. (24:19) They'll swear to you they are not idol worshippers. (24:21) And they'll swear then on the Day of Judgment that they are not idol worshippers. (24:26) They are not aware. (24:28) And I went through the signs of idol worship. (24:32) That they cannot stand to talk about Allah alone. (24:35) They cannot follow the Quran alone. (24:38) 1745. (24:39) And they cannot accept what God says in the Quran. (24:42) When he said Muhammad was a stray and guided, I have read the translation for you. (24:48) Incredible, wasn't it? (24:50) They changed his straying into a virtue. (24:55) That he was lost in love for people, for his people. (24:57) Whatever that crazy translation was. (25:00) And I will continue that situation of actual situations in the hereafter. (25:11) In this khutba and in the next khutba. (25:14) This is a human being. (25:17) This was a human being. (25:21) Someday you're going to look like this. (25:28) Someday you'll look like this. (25:30) Just imagine handsome Abdullah, he's going to look like this someday. (25:37) Beautiful Rahima will look like this someday. (25:43) For some people like myself, this is an improvement. (25:49) This person has beautiful teeth. (25:53) This is a person that lived on earth, just like we are now. (25:57) And you can imagine how many times Raja was eating. (26:03) And this happens to be a girl. (26:06) And she, can you imagine how many times she chewed food? (26:12) Look, you can see the teeth, how much the food affected her teeth. (26:19) She probably worked. (26:21) She had a boss. (26:24) She ate lots of food. (26:30) She drove a car, maybe. (26:34) She had fights with her friends, relatives. (26:38) She yelled at them. (26:44) She made love. (26:52) I don't know how many miles she walked. (26:56) This was a person, you're going to be like this someday. (26:59) Your body will be like this. (27:01) Now I want to draw your attention to God's design. (27:06) Imagine God designing the human skull, just the skull. (27:11) Imagine, just for the sake of understanding, (27:15) imagine God like a big architect, chairman of the board, (27:19) and a big desk, and designing the human skull. (27:23) And God says, I'm going to leave two openings for the eyes, (27:26) because this human being will have two eyes. (27:30) And we have to have an opening in here for the air to breathe. (27:35) The air in there. (27:35) Now, the eyeballs will go in this hole. (27:41) So God says, I'm going to have these eye sockets. (27:44) And if you look in there, you see very tiny holes inside for the nerve, (27:48) the optic nerve to go through to the brain. (27:55) And we're going to have, if you look in here and see the sinus passages, (28:03) and the teeth are something else, the design of the teeth, (28:06) and the cutters and the sewers. (28:13) An opening for the ear in here, see the small opening on the side? (28:16) For the ear to hear. (28:17) Leads to the audio nerve going to the brain. (28:23) And this is very hard, you know, to protect the brain. (28:28) Then put the brain inside. (28:30) Let's see, this opens. (28:32) Now, God didn't put these things on there, the string. (28:36) Somebody else did that. (28:41) My goodness, see, this is very tough. (28:43) It's made of a number of layers. (28:44) You can see the layers there. (28:48) This was a human being. (28:49) Look what we're doing with her. (28:52) The brain is protected in fluid, which is very important. (28:57) And then see the opening at the bottom of the skull? (29:00) This goes to the spine. (29:03) Everything, all the body is controlled this way. (29:14) Now, I want to move on to a situation in the hereafter. (29:18) This person, this was the garment that this person was wearing. (29:29) But the person herself is asleep. (29:36) She doesn't know that she died. (29:53) This person, let us say she's an average Christian. (30:01) Or an average Muslim, for that matter. (30:03) An average Jew who fell into idol worship. (30:08) So she will get up, she'll rise there. (30:12) Resurrection, all the people on earth who existed on earth (30:16) would be up on this earth, resurrected. (30:21) And this person will say, oh God, it's true. (30:27) Gosh. (30:29) Everything we heard is true. (30:32) There's a resurrection. (30:37) I didn't pay attention to this day. (30:41) And look at that big person over there. (30:45) See, she'll have a small size. (30:48) But the body is in the hereafter. (30:51) And she'll go to this big person and she'll say, how did you get like that? (30:56) And he'll say, well, for one thing, I never missed breakfast. (31:01) That's a prayer. (31:06) And she'll say, I didn't miss breakfast either. (31:10) You know, eggs and bread. (31:15) And the other fellow will say, yeah, but you were feeding your garment. (31:20) How's my acting, by the way? (31:23) Not bad, is it? (31:26) I should have also the voice tone, you know. (31:28) Well. (31:35) Just don't call Hollywood. (31:36) I'm happy in my position. (31:39) I don't want the directors bugging me. (31:44) But this is a natural situation where people will be in different sizes. (31:50) And then she will ask, what is going to happen now? (31:53) And he'll say, well, the next thing that will happen is God will come to this earth. (32:01) And the energy associated with God is equivalent to millions of hydrogen bombs. (32:08) Can you imagine this earth with a million hydrogen bombs falling on it? (32:13) What will happen? (32:14) See, this is why God taught us nuclear science. (32:17) This is why God let us invent hydrogen bombs. (32:21) So we can understand what happens when he comes. (32:25) This is what the Quran says. (32:30) And that big person will go on and say, when God comes, you can't stand it. (32:35) First of all, the energy associated with God is equivalent to millions of hydrogen bombs. (32:42) And when God comes, this whole earth is going to shatter into pieces. (32:47) Like a million hydrogen bombs fell on it. (32:50) The stars will crash and disintegrate. (32:55) And you are going to be in bad trouble. (32:58) You cannot stand the presence of God. (33:02) So she'll say, what will you do? (33:05) He'll say, I'm going to feed on that energy. (33:07) I'm going to enjoy it immensely. (33:09) And as soon as God comes, we're going to be stratified into ranks. (33:14) You will have to run away to hell. (33:21) This will be actual conversation. (33:26) And she will say, well, I'm going to run to Jesus and see if he can help me. (33:33) Because I believe in Jesus. (33:39) And she may go to Jesus and he'll say, I'm in deep trouble myself. (33:45) We're all in hell right now. (33:48) The initial resurrection is in hell. (33:51) I can't help you. (33:54) God is the one who created you. (33:56) God is the one who provided for you. (33:57) God is the one who terminated your life. (33:59) God is the one who resurrected you. (34:01) And God is the one who will hold you to account. (34:07) But this person who is a Muslim should say, I'm going to run to Muhammad. (34:11) He's my Shafi'a. (34:12) He's my intercessor. (34:16) And Muhammad will tell him, sorry, can't help you. (34:22) You have to believe in God alone. (34:28) That day is going to come. (34:30) See, this person lived here on earth. (34:33) And she did everything you are doing now. (34:37) And you're going to be like this person someday. (34:43) A hundred years from now. (34:45) You may not look this good, by the way. (34:47) This looks very good. (34:50) She did have this good teeth. (34:56) So we must, in order to stay on the path, we must stay, we must remember those actual situations that will be here. (35:04) And this is why God puts belief in the hereafter next to him. (35:09) They're both required. (35:10) You cannot make it. (35:11) You can believe in God and still go to hell. (35:13) You saw the slide? (35:16) The majority of people who believe in God are going to hell. (35:19) You must believe in God and in the hereafter. (35:26) You must never neglect to feed your soul. (35:30) Because this is what the body would look like. (35:32) And people like myself, we played around with it. (35:35) She didn't know that, did she? (35:37) Somebody came with my skull someday. (35:39) I don't care. (35:41) It's a diamond that they throw away. (35:43) Remember your old clothes? (35:45) You give away? (35:46) You care who's doing what with them now? (35:49) Your body is just like that. (35:51) Old clothes. (35:53) Old garment. (35:55) So, if you neglect to feed your soul, it's your own fault. (36:03) The five prayers each day, those are your five needs. (36:09) The five prayers are useless if you idolize anyone else besides God. (36:15) God must be the only one, not number one. (36:19) Because number one means there is number two. (36:22) God must be the only one in your life. (36:40) Happy Shalom. (36:45) You must spend your money like a seed of God. (36:49) Like a seed that grows into seven hills. (36:52) With one hundred seeds in each hill. (36:55) God multiplies the reward in many forms for whatever He wills. (37:01) God is precious. (37:10) So, this is the silver spinnacle. (37:13) It's the minimum reward for charitable actions. (37:21) For every dollar you spend, you get seven hundred minimum. (37:26) Not necessarily, you don't get that necessarily in dollars. (37:31) And maybe not necessarily a bit in dollars. (37:33) It's also a bit in health and happiness. (37:36) So, you come with the means to enjoy it. (37:41) 262, those who spend their money in the cause of God and do not follow their charity will be brought to insanity. (37:50) We receive the recompense from the Lord. (37:54) They have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve. (37:59) What we're seeing here is the etiquette for charity. (38:11) A lot of people may give assistance to somebody and then hurt their feelings later on. (38:20) It's not necessarily saying a word. (38:24) But the gentleman that you met him, never forget it. (38:29) I helped you one time, but you don't forget it. (38:32) And God says, it's better not to make such a charity. (38:41) Those who spend their money in the cause of God and do not follow their charity will be brought to insanity. (38:47) We receive the recompense from the Lord. (38:50) They have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve. (38:53) In another verse, I don't remember exactly the word now. (38:58) It's the next one, 263. (39:02) The kind words and compassion are better than a charity which is full of nonsense. (39:11) It's better to be kind and compassionate and to help someone and then make them never to forget their insanity. (39:22) God is bounteous. (39:24) The idea is that the money that you have is not really ours. (39:31) Something that God is lending to us. (39:35) It is God's money. (39:36) He said you spend on yourself and what's the use of charity. (39:39) Go on. (39:41) 264. (39:42) For you who believe, do not mollify your charity for reproach and insult. (39:49) If you do, you will be like one who spends his money only to show off. (39:54) Why disbelieving in God and the last day? (39:58) This parable is like a useless rock covered with a thin layer of soil. (40:04) When heavy rain falls, it leaves it solid. (40:08) They harvest nothing from their efforts. (40:11) God does not die in their disbelief. (40:15) I'm going to read it again. (40:16) 264. (40:16) For you who believe, do not mollify your charity for reproach and insult. (40:23) So this charity that follows by helping people's feelings (40:28) are like somebody who is being charitable. (40:31) Why disbelieving in God is well and good. (40:38) Some people are very charitable. (40:40) They help a lot of people. (40:42) They build hospitals. (40:44) They have charitable organizations. (40:46) But they don't believe in God. (40:50) And all their works are in vain. (40:53) Because of our existence here, we are here not to be charitable. (40:57) We are here to worship God. (40:59) So charity must be a form of worship in obedience to God's commandments. (41:08) 265. (41:11) And the parable of those who spend their money seeking God's pleasure (41:16) and through their own convictions. (41:19) Get out. We need your phone number. (41:28) We're looking for an address and phone number. (41:39) Back to 265. (41:43) And the parable of those who spend their money seeking God's pleasure (41:46) and through their own convictions. (41:49) It's that of a garden on high and deep soil. (41:54) When heavy rain falls, it builds double the crop. (41:58) If heavy rain is not available, a light rain would suffice. (42:03) God is seer of everything you do. (42:05) You see, the Quran teaches the principles of every custom. (42:09) You want good land, you have to make sure that it is deep and high. (42:17) And of course, there must be enough water supply. (42:22) 266. (42:24) Would any of you wish to own a garden of dead palms and grapes (42:27) with flowing streams and all kinds of fruits? (42:31) Then as he gets old and his children are still weak, (42:35) the garden gets broken with a hollow cross and turns to dust. (42:39) God does explain the revelations for you that you may reflect. (42:46) Again, this is emphasizing that when you help somebody, (42:52) you don't keep rubbing it in their nose. (42:58) 267. (42:59) O you who believe! (43:01) You shall spend in charity from the good things you earn (43:05) and from what we produce for you from the earth. (43:08) Do not pick out the interior thereof to give away. (43:13) When you would not accept it for yourself unless your eyes are closed, (43:18) you should realize that God is rich, worthy of all things. (43:23) So this defines for us what are the things that count for charity. (43:29) To give away all the clothes that you don't need anymore, (43:33) that's not charity. (43:35) It's just that we're actually looking for this problem of old clothes. (43:41) Instead of throwing them in the garden, giving them away to somebody. (43:46) Charity must be as good as the things you have. (43:52) Of course, it doesn't mean you don't give away your old clothes to poor people. (43:56) You give it away, but you don't count it as a part of, as a kind. (44:01) It's not charity at all. (44:03) It is not charity at all. (44:06) Actually, that person may be doing you a favor by letting you get rid of the old clothes. (44:16) 268. The devil promises you only poverty and exhorts you to commit evil works, (44:22) while God promises you forgiveness from him and pleasure and blessings. (44:27) God is boundless and omniscient. (44:34) He bestows wisdom upon whomever he wills, (44:37) and whoever is endowed with wisdom is endowed with a great bounty. (44:43) That is because those who possess intelligence are the ones who take it. (44:53) So what do I understand from this whole section? (44:57) It is adequate for charity. (45:01) From among the best things you have, you get 7,000% return. (45:13) And you do it and forget it. (45:20) You do it and you forget it. (45:23) You never bring it up again. (45:24) You don't tell other people, you tell the recipients again. (45:29) And as you see in the next verse, verse 270, if you keep it secret, it's even better. (45:38) Because it implies that you believe in God. (45:43) You know that God saw you. (45:46) But if you don't keep it secret, you tell people around you that you're showing off. (45:50) You're reaping some kind of reward by not keeping it secret. (45:56) Let's read verse 270. (45:58) Whatever charity you give for a vow you make, God is fully aware of it. (46:05) The wicked will find no help from it. (46:08) If you declare your charity, they are still good. (46:13) But if you conceal them and give them secretly to the poor, it will be better for you and will remit more of your sins. (46:21) God is fully confident in everything you do. (46:28) So, this is where I stop and somebody else will take over. (46:31) Do you have any questions in this section so far? (46:49) No, no, for sure, for sure, there's none. (46:58) That doesn't exist. (47:00) This is ridiculous, I understand. (47:02) You don't know who you gave it to, right? (47:15) How many people read your section, too? (47:18) You don't even know who you are, it's just a computer. (47:25) How many people do you know read your IRS? (47:32) Doesn't this really mean if you go around and pretend like you're a big giver, you know? (47:36) If you do any show-off or you reap any benefits, that reduces the benefits that God has for you. (47:48) Doesn't it also show a lack of faith in your generosity in a way? (47:52) Because if you're getting the benefits, you think you're going to get all the benefits you can in this way. (47:56) I don't know, I feel like a fake. (48:00) Well, they keep it secret. (48:01) I said to them, you have to keep it a secret, or you'll soon be getting a reward from the IRS. (48:07) I told them to send us, if anyone wants to get on that street, it's a sound room. (48:10) They made it very good space for us. (48:15) And they can have... (48:18) You bet they can have it. (48:19) It has to be in brass and it has to be very good. (48:22) Sometimes they do it themselves. (48:23) I should see the publication, I guess, today. (48:30) This is so true. (48:32) Someone who is distributing the publication about himself and his life, history and his genealogy, (48:40) all the way to the Prophet Muhammad. (48:42) And he calls himself the champion and... champion and what? (48:50) And that's a very good reason. (48:56) Strong man. (48:59) A Malaysian. (49:00) A Malaysian, not a Syriac. (49:23) You can never guide anyone. (49:33) God is the only one who guides in accordance with his will. (49:36) Any charity you give away is for your own good. (49:39) Any charity…
