(0:00) Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest. (0:05) There are no ten gods but Allah. (0:10) There are no ten gods but Allah. (0:14) Let us pray, let us pray. (0:19) Let us say, let us say. (0:26) Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest. (0:49) This first khutbah will link up with the khutbahs that Dean Mahmood has been giving us. (1:00) And before I start I would like to draw your attention to something that you probably take (1:05) for granted and that is here is a mosque that advocates the worship of Allah alone. (1:15) I know that God sent Moses to preach la ilaha illallah as we know in surah 21 and not to (1:23) preach the glorification of Moses. (1:25) And God sent Jesus to preach the worship of God alone la ilaha illallah and not to preach (1:32) the glorification of Jesus. (1:34) And God sent Muhammad to preach the worship of God alone and not to preach the glorification (1:42) of Muhammad or anyone else. (1:44) Just worshiping God alone. (1:47) In this mosque we advocate the worship of God alone and we follow the Quran to the letter. (1:54) We came to call this mosque the university of God because it is the most important education (2:01) and we have been very fortunate in seeing the truth of the Quran and sticking to every letter (2:06) of it. (2:08) The university of God, the most important education, lacked official professorship. (2:17) So you can see from God's vantage point he said well these people are advocating the (2:23) worship of me alone, God alone, and they need a professor, so let's send them a professor. (2:30) So God appoints a couple of angels to go and hunt for the best professor on earth. (2:36) And he gets us not only a professor but a dean of the Islamic institute in the Philippines. (2:45) Now he doesn't know why he is here in Tucson. (2:54) All he knows is he sat down in Tucson and got stuck to the mosque in Tucson. (2:58) And he's teaching us, this is her, and he's been teaching us about Adam and Eve and the (3:05) sin of Adam and Eve. (3:07) And we've been enjoying his teaching so we have an official, not just the end of professorship, (3:13) the dean himself, of an official school. (3:18) So we don't thank officials of any kind. (3:22) What Dean Mahmood has been teaching us the last few khutbahs of his were the sin of Adam (3:27) and Eve. (3:27) What was the sin of Adam and Eve? (3:30) They ate from the tree. (3:32) That's what they did. (3:34) And because they ate from the tree, they did not qualify to continue in Jannah, in heaven, (3:40) paradise, the kingdom of God. (3:43) Because they ate from the tree. (3:45) They committed one sin. (3:49) What does this teach us? (3:50) What do we learn from this important lesson? (3:53) We learn that you cannot go to Jannah with one sin. (3:57) If you have one sin in your record, you do not qualify to go to heaven. (4:04) Sounds difficult. (4:05) But for the people who worship Allah alone, it is not difficult at all. (4:09) Because there are two ways of wiping out the sins from your record. (4:13) And this means nobody will see them, you will not see them in the record. (4:17) If you fulfill these two requirements. (4:20) But the thing we must learn from Dean Mahmood's lessons in the past, (4:26) that Adam's and Eve's sin is they ate from the tree. (4:29) They were kicked out. (4:31) Because they committed one sin. (4:33) Therefore we learn from this that we cannot go to heaven with one sin on our record. (4:38) Not one. (4:43) If you commit one sin, and you have it in your record, then you die. (4:47) You cannot go to heaven. (4:50) You must be absolutely sinless. (4:52) Because when Adam and Eve ate from the tree, (4:55) they didn't commit murder. (4:57) They ate from the tree. (4:58) That's all they did. (5:00) God told them, you go to heaven, and eat from anything you want, but not this one tree. (5:06) They ate from the tree, and they were kicked out. (5:09) And this is exactly what we are doing here on this earth. (5:15) We are here to be tested, (5:20) and to end this life without a single sin in your record. (5:25) Otherwise you do not qualify to join the kingdom of God. (5:28) You do not qualify to enter heaven. (5:32) Now how do we... (5:34) What are the ways of erasing sin from your record? (5:39) Now this is one thing you must remember, you must never forget, (5:42) that our goal is to end this life without a single sin. (5:50) How can we do that? (5:52) The first method of erasing sin is tawbah, repentance. (5:56) That's one thing. (5:58) You turn to God and you say, I'm sorry, I made a mistake, (6:01) I will never do it again, I pledge, I will never do it again, I repent. (6:07) I'm sorry, I apologize. (6:10) All the words of apology that you can muster. (6:13) And you pledge solemnly that you will not do it again. (6:17) That's one way. (6:19) What if your repentance is not acceptable? (6:22) There comes a second way. (6:23) The second way is to pay for it. (6:26) The first way to erase sins is tawbah, repentance. (6:29) The second way is to pay for them here, in this world. (6:34) And they are very expensive. (6:36) I'm telling you. (6:41) I would like to put a dollar value on the sins, (6:46) and how you pay for them here, in this world. (6:48) Now as a believer, you will pay in material things, thank God. (6:52) You don't pay with your arm or your leg. (6:54) Just look around this mosque, you don't see anyone with one arm or one leg. (6:57) Alhamdulillah. (6:59) You have to say alhamdulillah every time. (7:01) But, when I put material values in it, (7:06) it seems like the punishment is out of proportion (7:10) for the sin. (7:12) But you have to pay for it, (7:13) unless you want it on your record. (7:15) If you have one sin on your record, (7:19) you cannot go to jannah. (7:28) People go and commit adultery, (7:35) and they think it's a simple matter. (7:38) Well, marriage is really a simple matter. (7:40) If you have a relationship with another person, (7:41) you might as well want to suggest marriage. (7:45) It's very simple. (7:45) Two witnesses who, before Allah, (7:49) you declare that you are married. (7:51) But if you fall into adultery, (7:55) my dollar value on it is $10,000. (7:59) You have to pay. (8:01) In misery, or if you don't have the $10,000, (8:03) it will be a problem. (8:06) The payment for sins, (8:08) seems to be out of proportion in this world. (8:11) But really it isn't. (8:12) It's a tremendous mercy. (8:14) So the believers are the only people who enjoy (8:17) certain problems in this world, (8:19) because they know they are paying (8:20) for certain, wiping out certain sins. (8:24) The believer (8:26) does not get away with sins (8:28) in this world. (8:29) He has to pay for it. (8:31) The disbeliever doesn't either, (8:32) except with the disbeliever, (8:34) the punishment continues in the hereafter. (8:37) With the disbeliever, (8:38) the punishment in this world, (8:39) it also comes in this world, (8:41) but he or she cannot make the connection. (8:45) They will appear to get away (8:46) with sin. (8:48) And then after years, (8:50) months, after a time where the person (8:52) cannot connect the punishment with the sin, (8:54) bang! (8:56) They get hit. (8:59) So the two ways (9:01) to erase sins (9:04) are repentance (9:07) and paying for them. (9:09) These are the only two ways. (9:12) There's one sin, not sin, it's not even a sin, (9:15) there's one offense that cannot (9:16) be (9:19) forgiven. The only unforgivable (9:21) offense, I will let you open (9:23) the Quran, now read from the Quran, (9:25) and get surah 39, verse 53. (9:29) No, excuse me, I made a mistake. (9:30) 4, 48. (9:33) Not even that, 417. (9:38) 417 (9:38) is verse 53. (9:43) Alright, this is the order God wants us to see. (9:48) This is not the one that I wanted to do, (9:50) but it is with repentance. (9:52) Verse 53, verse 16 says, (9:59) Repentance is (9:59) accepted by God from those who (10:01) fall in sin due to ignorance. (10:05) Then repent (10:05) immediately. (10:07) God redeems these. (10:09) And God is knower, wise. (10:12) So this is how repentance (10:13) is accepted. Let's go on. (10:15) But repentance is not acceptable from (10:17) those who continue to commit sins (10:19) until death comes to them (10:21) then say, now I repent. (10:24) Nor is it acceptable from those (10:25) who die as disbelievers. (10:27) We have prepared for this a painful retribution. (10:30) So repentance, there are (10:31) conditions for accepting Tawheed, (10:33) for accepting repentance. That you fall (10:35) in sin due to ignorance. (10:38) Otherwise you don't know that wine is (10:39) haram. And you go (10:41) drink wine. Then you find out in Quran (10:43) that wine, liquor, alcohol (10:45) is haram. (10:48) Then you repent. (10:50) And you pledge you will never do it again. (10:51) You made a mistake, you never do it again. (10:53) Then your repentance is accepted. (10:55) But if you know that wine, (10:57) liquor, whiskey, marijuana (10:59) or any of those is haram and you go (11:01) deliberately and you do it, you cannot repent from that. (11:03) You have to pay. And the price is very high. (11:05) Either here or there. (11:09) If you know that (11:10) adultery is haram and you go committed, (11:13) you cannot repent from that. (11:14) There is no repentance there. You have to pay. (11:17) And the pay is (11:18) very expensive, $10,000. You know the (11:20) prostitutes are down there for $50 or $100. (11:23) But the price (11:24) that you pay (11:27) according to God's law (11:29) is, I put a figure (11:30) on it, just roughly $10,000. (11:33) In misery or (11:34) problems or whatever. (11:38) So this is the condition for repentance. (11:40) You can repent only (11:42) if you fall into sin due to ignorance (11:44) and then repent immediately. (11:46) You can't linger. (11:48) In the right way you say, I'm sorry God, (11:50) I made a mistake. (11:53) These are the conditions for repentance. (11:57) Also, (11:57) let's go to 39.65. (12:01) Because when I say you cannot (12:03) go to heaven with one sin, (12:05) it sounds terrible, doesn't it? (12:07) Not one sin. (12:08) Because Adam and Eve ate from the tree, (12:10) they committed one sin. (12:11) 39.65. (12:17) Surah al-Zumar. (12:20) How is the page? (12:21) 319. (12:22) Page 319, verse number is 65. (12:27) No, that's not the one. (12:29) 53. (12:31) Excuse me, it's in the same page anyway. (12:34) 53. (12:36) It says, (12:36) Say to my servants who exceeded the limit, (12:39) never despair of God's mercy. (12:42) God forgives all sins. (12:45) For He is the Forgiver, (12:46) the Merciful. (12:48) Now the Arabic is even a lot (12:50) stronger. (12:57) God forgives all sins. (13:00) Moses committed murder, (13:03) but he was forgiven. (13:04) If you remember the Quran, (13:06) Moses immediately turned to God and said, (13:08) this is the act of the devil, please God forgive me. (13:09) He repented immediately, didn't he? (13:12) And he didn't intend to kill the man either. (13:14) But he was forgiven right there (13:16) in the same breath. (13:18) The same verse of the Quran. (13:20) So God forgives all sins. (13:24) The instruction here for us is never to despair (13:26) from God's mercy. (13:29) There is one unforgivable offense. (13:31) Now that's the one in 448. (13:35) Let's go to 448. (13:48) Now at the bottom of the page (13:50) it says, idol worship, (13:52) the only unforgivable offense. (13:54) God never forgives the idolization (13:56) of anything besides Him. (13:58) And He forgives all lesser offenses (14:00) for whomever He wills. (14:03) Anyone who sets up (14:04) any idol besides God (14:05) has forged a gross blasphemy. (14:08) Therefore the only unforgivable offense (14:10) is idol worship. (14:11) And this is why we are very careful in this month (14:13) not to idolize anyone. (14:15) Not Mary, not Jesus, not Muhammad, (14:17) not Moses, not any saint, (14:19) not anyone, not anything. (14:22) Our motto is (14:23) Allah alone. (14:25) And the criteria is in the Quran. (14:33) When you talk about God alone, you don't like it. (14:37) That's the sign. (14:38) But we love it. We talk about Allah alone. (14:41) Because idol worship (14:42) is the only unforgivable offense. (14:54) It's a goal (14:54) In the same surah (14:57) verse 116 (14:58) 116 (15:02) page 63 (15:03) Again at the bottom of the page (15:07) it says, God does not forgive the idolization (15:10) of any idols besides Him (15:12) and He forgives all lesser offenses (15:14) for whomever He wills. (15:17) Anyone who idolizes any idol (15:18) besides God has gone far astray. (15:21) So (15:22) now we know that (15:24) there is only one unforgivable offense (15:26) and that is idol worship. To idolize anyone (15:29) or anything. It's the one that is not (15:31) forgiven. Because the whole idea (15:33) of creating us in this world (15:35) is to worship Allah alone. (15:39) And this is why we are told (15:40) throughout Quran (15:42) that the prophets have no power (15:44) to benefit you or harm you, have no power (15:46) to benefit themselves or harm themselves. (15:48) Why is God saying that? (15:51) Why? (15:52) Because the people have tendency to idolize their leaders, (15:55) their saints, their prophets. (15:58) Christians idolize Jesus, the Muslims idolize Muhammad. (16:02) The Shia idolize (16:02) the Imams. (16:05) It's a play. (16:06) It's a play that Satan set up (16:09) for the Jews, (16:11) the Christians and the Muslims. (16:12) And people fall in it. (16:14) And we find it reflected in the Quran, a statement of fact. (16:16) ماَ وَ ْ ُوا َ َر ُھ ْم ُیْؤ ِمن ا َّ أ ِ َ ْكث ِ َّلا ب إ َو ُھ ْم ِ ِ ُكو َن شرْ 16:19 (مُ ( The majority of believers (16:20) fall in idol worship. (16:24) ماَ وَ ْ َ ُروا َ ْكث َّا ِس أ َح َر ْص َت َوَلا الن نَ نیِمِ ؤْمُ ِ 16:26 (ب (The majority of people who was believed to start with (16:28) and the majority of the minority will fall in idol worship. (16:32) This is why you must be (16:33) absolutely positive and careful that you are (16:35) idolizing no one. (16:37) That you are worshiping Allah alone. (16:38) That you are following the Quran alone. (16:42) The words of Allah alone. (16:44) You don't accept (16:45) any instructions from anyone because God is the wisest. (16:54) So with this in mind, (16:57) we know that (16:58) all sins are forgivable. (17:01) The only unforgivable offense (17:03) is idol worship. (17:05) And we know that we cannot go to heaven (17:07) with one sin. We must erase (17:10) all sins. (17:14) When we die, we mustn't (17:15) have one sin in our record. (17:17) Otherwise, (17:19) you don't go to heaven. (17:21) We are here in this world to prepare (17:23) for entering heaven. (17:25) That's what we want. The real life. (17:27) The eternal life. (17:28) Because this life is zero. (17:33) So in order to qualify, you have to erase all the sins. (17:36) You can erase by tawbah, (17:37) repentance, and by paying for them. (17:46) Therefore, I propose (17:47) that we go out of these doors (17:49) absolutely sinless. (17:52) We are going to walk out of these doors (17:53) without a single sin on our record (17:54) because we are going to repent right now. (17:57) We are going to turn to God and (17:58) we are going to declare tawbah. (18:00) We are going to pledge that we will never break God's law. (18:03) That we will follow (18:06) His commandments (18:07) as stated here. (18:09) And that we will never (18:12) offend God (18:13) in any way. (18:14) Idol worship is out of the question. (18:17) We did that a long time ago. (18:20) But we are going to (18:21) turn to God and sincerely pledge (18:22) we are going to repent of all the past sins and (18:24) offenses. (18:28) We are going to say that we are sorry that we fell into (18:30) those mistakes. (18:32) We will apologize (18:34) and we will pledge, this is most important, (18:36) that we will never again (18:38) commit a sin. (18:41) You have to mean it. (18:43) You may (18:44) fall in sin again, which you will, (18:46) but God says in the Quran that He loves (18:47) those who continuously (18:50) repent. (18:54) Because you continuously (18:55) repent. (18:56) You have to repent every day. (18:57) But as far as we are concerned at this moment, (18:59) we are going to walk out of these doors (19:01) absolutely sinless. (19:03) So turn to God and repent. (19:05) Turn to God. (19:30) Alhamdulillah. (19:33) When you repent, (19:37) you wipe out all the sins (19:39) in the earth (19:41) and you qualify (19:43) to go to heaven. If you die right now (19:45) at this moment, you go to heaven. (19:46) Because you don't have a sin in the earth. (19:52) And remember the conditions for repentance. (19:55) In the future, (19:56) when you reach for a cup of whiskey (19:58) or wine or something, (20:00) you know it is wrong and you know (20:02) you are going to pay for it dearly. It is very expensive. (20:05) I remember (20:06) one time (20:08) I was in Libya at the time (20:09) and I was buying donuts (20:14) from this fellow and he had a bottle of whiskey (20:16) next to him. He was a cashier. (20:18) And he was drinking away and I said (20:20) you know this is very expensive. He said yeah (20:21) I paid 8 pounds for this. (20:23) I said no, that's not what I mean. (20:27) This is going to cost you a lot. (20:29) So it is very expensive. (20:31) You are breaking God's law. (20:32) As far as Adam and Eve is concerned, (20:34) it cost them heaven. (20:38) Heaven is a glass. (20:39) You do anything you want. God says (20:42) you get anything you wish (20:44) and I have more. (20:46) I have more than you wish. (20:48) Because God has things that we cannot even imagine (20:50) in order to wish. (20:52) How can you wish for something you cannot imagine? (20:54) Pleasures and joy that you cannot imagine. (21:00) God says (21:00) I have more than what you wish for. (21:10) And now that you are sinless, try to maintain (21:12) this condition. (21:17) If you are about to commit a sin, (21:19) be prepared to pay for it dearly. (21:22) Expensively. (21:26) You know what is worse with sins (21:29) is if they really become too much (21:31) then they (21:32) there is a she that builds up with every sin (21:37) and if there is too much of that (21:39) around you, people cannot penetrate (21:41) that she. (21:43) But never despair from God's mercy. (21:49) You must repent immediately. (21:51) Whether you know it or not. If you fall in sin (21:53) knowingly or unknowingly, repent anyway. (21:56) Immediately. (21:58) And be prepared for the price. (22:00) And you pay the price happily. (22:03) Anytime God says you shall not, (22:07) you shall not. (22:10) No matter how simple it seems. (22:16) The second khutba is about (22:17) the importance of the Arabic language. (22:20) This is the second khutba. (22:22) Because we started (22:23) the Arabic language lessons recently (22:26) and I'm going to summarize this khutba (22:27) in one word. (22:31) Let me make it two words. (22:33) Not important at all. (22:35) That's four words. (22:36) Not important at all. Arabic is not important at all. (22:39) Because we learn from surah 41 (22:41) Let's look at it. 41-44 (22:46) Most of you are (22:47) familiar with this. (22:55) 41-44 (22:57) is in page 332 (23:03) It says had we made it (23:05) a non-Arabic Quran, they would have said (23:08) why did it come down in that language? (23:11) Whether it is non-Arabic or Arabic (23:12) said for those who (23:14) believe it is a beacon and a healing (23:16) regardless of their language. (23:19) As for those who do not believe (23:20) they will be deaf and blind to it (23:22) as if they are being called from afar. (23:25) So language is (23:26) absolutely immaterial. If you are a believer (23:28) you are a sincere Muslim (23:30) then God will put everything (23:32) in your heart. The whole Quran in your heart. (23:35) I have seen people quote the Quran (23:37) without ever reading it because they are sincere Muslims. (23:39) They haven't read it all yet. (23:40) They are working on it. (23:43) At the same time, if you are a professor of Arabic linguistics (23:46) at the (23:49) Mecca University (23:50) or whatever (23:51) and you are not a sincere believer (23:52) you cannot get one Arabic word from the Quran (23:54) even though you are a professor of Arabic language. (23:58) Because most of that says (23:59) as for those who do not believe (24:01) they will be blind to it. (24:03) You cannot get one word (24:05) out of this. At the same time (24:07) a Japanese, a French, a Swede (24:10) or one who does not know (24:11) one letter in the Arabic language (24:13) God will put the Quran in his heart. (24:15) Otherwise it will not be fair. Because the Quran (24:17) is for the whole world, for everybody. (24:20) And it will not be fair (24:21) to restrict it to those who can read and write (24:23) Arabic. As you see from this (24:26) verse. The title of the surah is (24:28) Mus'al, elucidated. God made the Quran (24:30) available to every believer. (24:33) And also the Quran is very special (24:34) the Quran is never available to those who are (24:36) not believers. People who do not (24:40) believe the Quran. (24:42) But the Arabic (24:48) helps. (24:50) Just like mathematics or physics or chemistry (24:52) it helps. (24:55) And that is why we have the Arabic lessons. (24:57) I am going to give you one example (24:58) where the Arabic helps. (25:00) I wrote it out there. (25:03) Because the Muslim ummah is trapped (25:06) in the (25:08) in a satanic (25:10) plot. Where they cannot (25:11) they do not believe God when he says that the Quran (25:13) is complete and perfect. (25:15) They have to go to other sources. They have five sources (25:17) of Sharia. They have the Quran (25:19) the Hadith, the (25:21) Ijma, unanimity, Qiyas (25:23) that is analogy, and all kinds of (25:25) other sources. And God says if you go to any (25:27) other source besides Quran (25:29) you are setting up a God beside God. (25:35) I am going to read the verse for you. It happens to be (25:37) verse 19 of surah 6. (25:42) Arabic (25:43) Arabic (25:47) Arabic (25:49) Arabic (25:49) So the people set up (25:50) other sources beside Quran, other Gods beside (25:53) God. Again it is the (25:55) will of God and the will of the Prophet. (25:58) And they think (25:58) that they are guided. One perfect (26:03) example of the Arabic language is this verse (26:05) here. It says (26:07) it is surah 17 (26:09) verse 45. It says when you read the Quran (26:11) between you and those who do not believe in the hereafter (26:15) an invisible barrier. (26:18) And we put (26:20) shields on their hearts (26:21) to prevent them from understanding Quran (26:23) and deafness in their ears. (26:25) And when you mention your Lord, when you (26:27) preach your Lord in the Quran (26:29) alone. (26:31) God put the world alone after Quran. (26:34) They turn away. (26:36) They run. (26:37) They run. And we have (26:39) seen this. We have seen people who come here (26:41) and you tell them the Quran alone and they run. (26:43) They can't stand it. Just like the Quran (26:46) says, (26:47) Now, because of the general (26:51) trap (26:52) that the Muslim Ummah fed in, (26:54) they refuse to translate this (26:56) the way it is. They say if you (26:57) preach your Lord alone in the Quran (27:00) you just pick up (27:01) any translation of the Quran (27:05) and you will find that they move the word (27:07) wahdahu after your Lord. (27:09) That's why in our translation we put (27:11) wahdahu after your Lord and after the Quran (27:14) because God put it after (27:15) the Quran in Arabic. (27:18) This sentence would have been perfectly (27:21) perfectly perfect (27:21) if you say (27:26) But God (27:27) deliberately put the word wahdahu (27:29) after the Quran. So if you know (27:31) Arabic (27:33) it will help you (27:36) distinguish and understand (27:37) that the majority of people are plagued with (27:39) idol worship (27:43) and they are plagued to the extent (27:46) that they refuse to believe the Quran. (27:49) They refuse to translate the truth (27:50) of the Quran. (27:52) They cannot stand when you (27:54) say Quran alone. (27:56) That is not enough for them. (27:58) They have to have hadith and sunnah (28:00) and qiyas (28:02) and ijma' and all these other sources (28:04) that were invented (28:06) centuries after the Prophet including the hadith (28:12) So this is an example of the importance (28:14) of the Arabic language. (28:15) And while here (28:17) those who do not believe in the hereafter (28:19) those who do not believe in the hereafter (28:22) let us look at them consistently (28:25) in the Quran (28:26) you find first of all (28:27) surah 16 verse 22 (28:32) 16.22 (28:43) 16.22 (28:44) says your God is one God (28:47) but those who do not believe in the hereafter (28:50) their hearts are denied (28:53) and they are arrogant (28:56) your God is one God (29:00) but those who do not believe in the hereafter (29:02) will set up other gods beside God (29:04) this is what it means (29:06) you see (29:08) you people are fortunate most of you (29:10) were born in a non-Muslim house (29:13) and (29:14) they (29:16) they will get double the reward (29:18) you get twice (29:20) twice as much as me (29:23) the person who grew up in a Muslim house (29:27) the Quran says that those who grew up (29:29) in a non-Muslim house and they became Muslim (29:31) and accepted the Quran as their book (29:33) they get double the reward (29:35) so I grew up in a Muslim house (29:37) my parents say if you are a good person (29:39) you have to be a Muslim you must believe in God (29:42) you must be a Muslim (29:43) you must believe in God and so forth (29:45) so I grew up saying I am a Muslim I believe in God (29:47) I am a Muslim I believe in God (29:49) because my parents taught me so (29:51) but in the hereafter (30:08) when they are resurrected after death (30:12) they really don't believe (30:13) they just say it because their parents taught them to say that (30:18) so those who do not believe in the hereafter (30:20) their hearts are denied (30:21) how do we distinguish (30:24) this is the verse (30:25) that I wanted to share next (30:27) that those who do not believe in the hereafter (30:30) how will God show them (30:32) on the day of judgment that they did not (30:33) that their hearts were denied (30:35) by this criterion here when you tell them (30:37) the Quran alone they run (30:39) this is the criterion (30:41) this is the sign (30:43) that will teach them on the day of judgment (30:45) that they were saying with their mouth (30:47) I am a Muslim (30:47) but their hearts inside were denied (30:51) they didn't know (30:53) so this is the sign (30:57) another verse about those who do not believe in the hereafter (30:59) is in surah 6 (31:01) verse 112 (31:14) 612 surahs the hadith (31:18) where people do not believe God (31:20) when he says the Quran is complete and perfect (31:30) because their hearts (31:32) inside are denied (31:33) so when you read 112 it says additionally (31:35) we have appointed for every prophet enemies (31:38) from among the human devils and jinn devils (31:40) who invent (31:42) and narrate to each other fancy words (31:45) in order to deceive (31:47) had your Lord willed (31:48) they would not have done it (31:50) you shall disregard them and their inventions (31:53) go on to 113 (31:55) this is God's will (31:57) in order that the minds of those (31:59) who do not really believe in the hereafter (32:00) see it's the same expression (32:03) the same expression (32:06) because their hearts inside (32:09) are denied (32:10) and we see that (32:12) those who do not believe in the hereafter (32:15) they will run away (32:17) from the Quran alone (32:18) they will be attracted to the fabrications (32:20) against the prophet that they call hadith and sunnah (32:24) and this will show them (32:25) on the day of judgment that their hearts (32:27) were denied (32:27) that they were not satisfied with the word of God (32:31) alone (32:39) 39.45 (32:46) 39.45 is the great criterion (32:48) that tells you (32:50) if you or anyone you are speaking with (32:52) talking to (32:54) is really a believer or a false believer (32:57) it says (32:58) when God alone is advocated (32:59) the hearts of those who do not believe in the hereafter (33:02) shrink with aversion (33:04) but when idols are mentioned (33:07) besides him (33:07) they rejoice, they become happy (33:09) when you speak about Allah alone, they don't like it (33:16) again (33:17) those who do not believe in the hereafter (33:19) the same expression, they don't like it (33:22) you have to mention besides God, Mary or Jesus (33:24) or Muhammad or Ali or (33:26) somebody (33:27) you cannot speak about Allah alone to them (33:30) they will not be happy (33:31) but when you mention someone else, they will be happy (33:34) so this is a sign that they do not believe in the hereafter (33:43) that's the sign, the great criterion (33:45) for you, me, anyone you talk to (33:49) and this is why I have it at the beginning of the translation (33:54) because it is the great criterion (33:56) it tells you exactly if your heart is denying or not (33:58) if you are a Muslim or you are deceiving yourself (34:00) you tell yourself I am a Muslim (34:02) when you really are not (34:04) these are the signs (34:11) finally (34:13) let's look up the same surah 39 (34:15) verse 65 (34:26) Prophet Muhammad (34:28) is our example (34:30) and his example is to uphold the Quran (34:32) the whole Quran, nothing but the Quran (34:36) and here is (34:39) a statement (34:40) directed to the Prophet (34:42) it says it has been revealed to you (34:44) Muhammad and to those before you (34:46) that if you ever fall into (34:48) idol worship (34:49) all your works will be nullified (34:51) and you will be a loser (34:54) after all the work he did (34:55) after all the suffering he went through (34:58) after being banished from his hometown (35:03) if he ever fell in idol worship (35:04) all his works would have been nullified (35:07) doesn't matter (35:07) what a nice guy you are (35:09) doesn't matter how nice you are (35:12) how honest and truthful (35:15) and beloved (35:15) and benevolent and charitable (35:18) doesn't matter if you idolize (35:20) anyone or anything (35:21) all your work is in vain (35:24) because we exist in this world (35:26) to worship Allah alone (35:27) this is the whole idea (35:29) because Satan wanted to be a God with God (35:32) so God created us to show (35:34) Satan and to show the angels (35:36) that we will worship God without (35:38) putting anything besides him (35:39) if we put Muhammad next to Allah (35:40) or Jesus next to Allah (35:42) or Mary next to Allah (35:43) then we prove Satan's point (35:46) we prove that God needs a partner (35:48) God needs Muhammad in order to be worshipped (35:50) or God needs Jesus to be worshipped (35:52) or God needs Moses or Mary (35:54) or something to be worshipped (35:56) we are here to prove that God can be worshipped (35:59) alone without anything with him (36:01) this is the whole idea of the Quran (36:04) this is why it is the only (36:05) unforgivable offense (36:08) another finally (36:09) just remember another verse (36:11) instead of 40 (36:13) verse 10 (36:14) we are going to start with 10 (36:17) I am going to close with this (36:19) I promise (36:22) at the bottom of page 321 (36:24) page 321 (36:26) at the bottom (36:27) it says worship God alone (36:28) it says those who disbelieve (36:35) on the day of judgment (36:36) God's abhorrence towards you (36:38) is even greater than your abhorrence (36:41) towards yourselves (36:41) because you were invited to believe (36:44) but you chose to disbelieve (36:47) 11 says (36:48) they will say our Lord (36:49) you have given us two deaths and two lives (36:52) we now confess our sins (36:54) is there any way out (36:55) the answer in 12 says (36:59) this is because (37:00) when invited to worship God alone (37:02) you disbelieve (37:03) but when idols are mentioned beside him (37:06) you believe (37:07) alas the judgment has been decreed by God (37:09) the most exalted the great (37:12) so just to give this subject (37:14) these verses very important verses (37:15) justice and we are reading in Arabic again (37:17) those who disbelieve (37:18) on the day of judgment (37:19) God's abhorrence towards you (37:20) is even greater than your abhorrence towards yourselves (37:21) because you were invited to believe (37:23) but you chose to disbelieve (37:24) 11 says (37:24) they will say our Lord (37:24) you have given us two deaths and two lives (37:27) we now confess our sins (37:28) is there any way out (37:29) the answer in 12 says (37:30) when invited to worship God alone (37:32) you disbelieve (37:34) but when idols are mentioned beside him (37:35) you believe (37:35) alas the judgment has been decreed by God (37:37) the most exalted the great (37:38) so just to give this subject (38:41) as of this moment (38:44) now if you fall in sin due to ignorance (38:49) and then you repent (38:50) you know what to do (38:51) but it is absolutely in your hand (38:53) to follow the Quran exactly to the letter (38:57) does this make sense (39:01) we do not have to be sinners (39:04) it is not true (39:05) that we are all sinners (39:08) you can get rid of all your sins (39:09) and therefore (39:11) from that time on you have a perfect life (39:13) it is what God says (39:15) you have a perfect life (39:17) absolutely no problem (39:18) no traffic tickets, no headache, no stomach ache (39:21) no sickness, you are guaranteed (39:23) absolutely guaranteed (39:24) health, wealth, peace of mind (39:26) perfect happiness (39:27) it is what God says in the Quran (39:30) surah 24 verse 55 (39:33) and you better believe (39:34) because God promises that (39:37) yeah (39:38) it is very common belief (39:42) at least in Morocco (39:43) that there are things like evil eyes (39:45) and amulets (39:46) that people can look at you in a certain way (39:49) and cause you to be ill (39:50) this is idol worship (39:54) if you are afraid of anything (39:56) someone points a gun to your hand (39:58) and you get scared (39:59) you are on idol worship (40:02) I am giving you an extreme (40:04) because that gun will not work (40:06) unless it is in accordance with God's will (40:08) and if it is God's will that you die (40:09) there is nothing anyone in the whole world can do about it (40:13) because the method and time of your death (40:15) is already written down (40:17) and you cannot die (40:19) except with a personal decree (40:20) from God (40:25) written down (40:26) decree (40:27) God must sign your death certificate (40:30) therefore (40:30) a person comes with a gun (40:32) can do nothing to you (40:35) because they have to sign (40:36) the certificate of your death (40:38) personally (40:39) no one knows when you will die (40:41) this is what the Quran says (40:44) not even the angels (40:45) the order comes from Allah (40:48) subhanahu wa ta'ala (40:50) another question (40:51) you said earlier that (40:54) they would receive a double reward (40:56) for converting to Muslim (40:58) and (41:00) you stated before that (41:01) everybody has the same test (41:04) so I don't (41:06) see that as a contradiction (41:07) for them to get a double reward (41:09) they are passing the same test (41:11) no, they have additional hurdles (41:13) that they have to cross (41:15) because their parents told them Jesus is God (41:17) he is the son of God, the Trinity (41:18) this kind of thing (41:19) and they have to overcome this (41:22) besides, if God wants to be generous with them (41:25) there is nothing anyone can do (41:26) this is what God says (41:28) if you grow up under non-Muslim circumstances (41:31) and you come to Quran (41:32) you will receive double reward (41:35) so that test is more difficult (41:37) yeah, the test is more difficult (41:39) but everybody does that (41:41) maybe it doesn't (41:42) maybe not (41:43) where does it say that? (41:48) for example, the end of surah 57 (41:50) end of 57 (41:51) and also towards the end of surah 5 (41:54) I will give a photo of that subject (41:57) congratulations (41:58) dabbal Allah (42:01) congratulations (42:02) I think we are at 196 (42:50) 196 (43:00) this is Christmas Eve (43:01) it seems like a lot of people are having family reunions (43:09) is there football on the field here? (43:12) no (43:15) it's 21 (43:17) Merry Christmas (43:34) it's 21 (43:37) here is a commandment (43:42) you shall complete the Hajj and Umrah (43:44) observance for God (43:49) if you are prevented (43:50) then offer a sacrifice (43:52) and do not resume cutting your hair (43:55) until your offering has reached (43:57) its destination (44:00) but if you are ill (44:01) or suffering (44:03) some head injury (44:04) then you may cut your hair (44:06) and expire by fasting (44:08) or giving a charity (44:10) or some other form of worship (44:13) during the normal times of peace (44:15) you break the state of sanctity (44:16) between Umrah and Hajj (44:19) then expire by offering a sacrifice (44:22) those who cannot afford it (44:24) may fast three days during Hajj (44:26) and seven days when they return home (44:31) thus completing ten (44:33) provided you do not live (44:34) at the sacred mosque (44:36) you shall observe God (44:38) and know that God is strictly enforcing judgment (44:41) ok, all this sounds (44:43) complicated (44:44) but it has to do with (44:46) the Hajj ritual (44:49) when you go for Hajj inshallah (44:51) you start out by Umrah (44:56) two things you have to do (44:58) Umrah and then Hajj (45:00) Umrah consists of (45:03) putting on (45:06) the (45:09) unsewn (45:10) clothes (45:22) then you go (45:24) around the Kaaba seven times (45:28) then you run (45:30) between the north of (45:33) 7 times (45:35) and that completes your Umrah (45:37) then you go into Hajj (45:40) so if you (45:41) decide to break (45:44) the state of (45:46) Umrah (45:46) the state of sanctity (45:50) between (45:53) Umrah (45:54) and Hajj (45:54) as soon as you enter into that state of sanctity (45:57) you don't do any vanity (46:00) you don't make up your face (46:02) you don't cut your hair (46:05) it's a (46:09) it's another (46:10) form of making the body (46:12) your slave (46:13) telling your body I'm going to beautify you (46:15) and make you (46:22) look pretty (46:23) or anything (46:24) until this Hajj is over (46:26) people don't shave (46:27) men don't shave (46:29) you don't cut your hair (46:31) you can shower (46:35) but you don't wear clothes (46:37) that distinguish the rich from the poor (46:40) you wear very simple clothes (46:42) for the men it's just a sheet (46:45) so in Hajj (46:46) you cannot tell who is rich and who is poor (46:50) and they all look unshaven (46:52) and they all look (46:55) unmade up (46:55) and all that (46:57) so all the practices in Islam (47:00) are geared towards being the boss (47:02) over your body (47:04) Salat, fasting, (47:07) Zakat, charity (47:10) so let me go through this (47:12) sentence by sentence now (47:13) you shall complete the Hajj and Umrah observance from God (47:16) so this is something you have to do (47:18) as soon as, whenever you can (47:20) you plan on it (47:22) and when you can, God will make you able (47:24) to go and do it (47:29) of course (47:29) the first person to announce Hajj (47:32) was Abraham (47:34) and this (47:36) let's look up to verse 22 (47:38) I think it is verse 27 (47:41) let's see (47:41) 22
