39) Quran Study: Sura 60-61

Rich Believer, Certainty, Insurance

Speaker 1 (0:01) And this is, I mean, Satan cannot say that these people are mine. (0:09) He cannot say that. (0:10) When they say, we disown you and the idols you worship beside God, we denounce you and you will see nothing from us except animosity and hatred until you believe in God alone. (0:25) And then we are given the example of Abraham and his father. (0:29) However, a mistake was committed by Abraham when he said to his father, I will pray for your forgiveness, but I possess no power to protect you from God. (0:38) Our Lord, we trust in you, we submit to you, to you is the final destiny. (0:47) Our Lord, let's not be opposed by those who disbelieve and forgive us. (0:52) You are the almighty, most wise. (1:04) So I think we learn from this page that we just, our stand must be firm. (1:10) And it reminds us that we are here, all this trouble is because we rebelled, we did not make a firm stand on the side of God when the great feud happened. (1:27) The jinns, for example, made a firm stand with Satan. (1:32) And we didn't. (1:34) We said, maybe Satan can make it, can be a God. (1:39) We did not make a firm stand with God. (1:41) So this is our time to make up for it. (1:45) And to denounce that wishy-washy stand that we had in the past. (1:55) Okay, verse 6. (2:00) A good example has been set by them for those who seek God and the last day. (2:06) As for those who turn away, God is no need of them, most praiseworthy. (2:11) God may change the animosity between you and them into love. (2:16) See what I mean when I said make your firm, your stand known, orally, publicly, and tell them, it's okay, you can study and examine the evidence until God guides you. (2:31) But make it known. (2:38) Number 7, God is omnipotent, God is forgiver, most merciful. (2:42) And these relationships are regulated by the next two verses. (2:46) It tells you exactly how to behave towards whom. (2:52) Number 8 says, God does not enjoin you from befriending those who do not fight you because of religion, and do not evict you from your homes. (3:03) You may befriend them and be equitable towards them. (3:06) God loves the equitable. (3:08) So these are not considered the enemies of God if they are not actively opposing you. (3:13) They may be curious, they may be still looking, they may be still examining the evidence. (3:20) You will be able to tell if they are fasting or not. (3:24) Number 9 tells you that God enjoins you only from befriending those who fight you because of religion, evict you from your homes, and band together with others to banish you. (3:35) You shall not befriend them. (3:37) Those who befriend them are the transgressors. (3:42) If you are friends with somebody who is opposing God and his messenger, what does this tell about you? Speaker 6 (3:51) Yes, or worse. Speaker 1 (4:05) You have to make your stand very firm on the side of God alone. (4:09) If somebody is idolizing Muhammad or Jesus or Mary or some saint with God, you have to make your stand known that you don't like that, that you are not their friends until they abandon their idolatry and dedicate themselves to God alone. (4:27) Otherwise we will be like them. (4:31) This is, throughout the Quran we see this. (4:33) If you don't do that, you are like them, as guilty as they are. Speaker 2 (4:39) Yes, for example, you walk in the same office with them and provided they don't bother you, they pay their own way and they don't bother you. (4:49) You meet in the same restaurant, you meet in the same class and all this kind of, play the same game, perhaps as a place to look at in the evening, provided they don't bother you. Speaker 1 (5:02) They don't bother you, they are not fighting you. (5:03) You can talk to them, they are neutral. (5:07) Yes, they are neutral, there is still hope for them. Speaker 2 (5:11) So there is no problem, you talk to them, you play around, joke with them, leaving aside. Speaker 1 (5:17) Exactly. (5:18) Verses 8 and 9 are really the rule that covers, the umbrella rule. Speaker 5 (5:23) Can we do a trick to them? Speaker 1 (5:27) If they are still neutral, yes. (5:30) Especially if it is going to help them. Speaker 5 (5:32) No, but they declare themselves, declare themselves that they are. (5:41) Can we do good to them? Speaker 1 (5:43) No, you better run away from them. (5:46) If they declare themselves as unbelievers, you better... Speaker 5 (5:49) Yes, they need help, one kind or the other, help, some kind of... Speaker 1 (6:00) Not if they declare themselves as unbelievers, they are enemies of God. Speaker 5 (6:04) They have to declare themselves. Speaker 1 (6:05) Yes, you have to run away from them, you don't help them. (6:08) Don't help them. (6:11) This is what, let's read it again. (6:15) Number 9, God enjoins you from befriending those who fight you because of your religion. (6:21) Evict you from your homes and band together with others to banish you. (6:25) Better yet, if you look at verse number 1, it says, O you who believe, you shall not befriend my enemies and your enemies. (6:32) So a person who declared himself as an unbeliever is an enemy of God. (6:37) It shows the opposite side. (6:43) Unless you have something else in mind as far as declare themselves unbelievers. (6:49) Can you be more specific? Speaker 2 (6:54) How a person can be... (6:58) Verse 8, these are not believers in fact. (7:02) They are disbelievers and they are not actively fighting against... (7:09) Because number 8, there are some people that they are not believers. (7:14) But they do not believe or maybe they are agnostic, maybe they are... (7:23) They have no enmity. Speaker 1 (7:26) No fighting. (7:28) Will this define what you mean? Speaker 10 (7:33) Exactly. Speaker 5 (7:37) We are extending love and friendship to them. (7:42) There is a wide margin between love and friendship. Speaker 1 (7:48) Yes. Speaker 5 (7:48) I personally would like to love my enemy. (7:59) I do not know whether that enemy is the enemy of God. (8:03) But it says both, your enemy and my enemy. Speaker 8 (8:06) Yes. Speaker 5 (8:09) There is a person, I know that he is my enemy. (8:14) I wouldn't call anyone my enemy. (8:16) But I would say that this man has done bad to me. (8:22) I would like to love him. (8:24) I would respond by loving him. Speaker 1 (8:26) Is your enemy like in work circumstances? Speaker 5 (8:29) Unless he goes a little too far by, as it says, take my house, take my home away. (8:40) Then of course I would retaliate. Speaker 1 (8:45) Okay, if it is personal friction, the Quran actually tells you to love your enemy. (8:51) If it is a personal matter, like for example, he built his fence inside your territory instead of... (8:59) you know, half a yard inside your territory or something. (9:01) This has nothing to do with God. (9:04) And in fact, I don't know if the Arabic would mean anything to you. (9:08) السیئة في بالحسن یدرؤون In other words, if something does bad to you, you do good to them. (9:13) Perhaps you will become your friend in the future. (9:16) But here we are talking strictly religion, as far as worshipping God alone is concerned. Speaker 5 (9:21) Yes. Speaker 1 (9:21) So when you say my enemy... Speaker 5 (9:23) The ultimate could be that he may have turned, because I am his enemy. Speaker 1 (9:29) Right, if you mean by my enemy, it is personal animosity. (9:33) That is, the Quran tells you to do good to them, to love your enemy. (9:39) But, because you will be fighting for your sake, not for God's sake. (9:45) This is why the verse starts with my enemies. (9:47) God is saying my enemies first. (9:49) You shall not defend my enemies and your enemies. Speaker 2 (9:51) Because the enemy is also sure our enemy. Speaker 1 (9:54) That's right. (9:56) So, the love and hate should be for the sake of God, not for our personal sins. Speaker 4 (10:02) And these are not all idol worshippers, it is only the ones that actually fight. Speaker 1 (10:05) Yes. (10:07) You know, when we grew up, they taught us idolatry. (10:11) We grew up as idol worshippers. (10:15) All of us, this generation anyway. (10:17) The new generation is cleaner than we are. (10:21) But, you give them a chance to see the truth. (10:26) So, if they are not fighting you, there is hope that someday they will be better than you and me. (10:53) You help them if they are not fighting you. (10:55) If they are not actively fighting you, you help them, yes. (11:01) Yes, look on them as potential believers. (11:04) You are trying to woo them, actually. (11:11) This is what verse 8 is saying. (11:14) God does not prohibit you from befriending those who are not fighting you and not evicting you from your homes. (11:21) Fighting you because of religion. (11:22) Excuse me, I have to add those three words. (11:25) Because of religion, not because of personal matters. (11:37) Regard the relatives. (11:43) You disown them. (11:44) No, no, excuse me. (11:45) Go on. (11:46) I am fighting you. (11:47) I am sorry. Speaker 4 (11:55) But they are not fighting you. Speaker 1 (11:58) Fine. (11:59) It is okay. (12:00) You can be their friends and love them and everything. (12:02) Try to woo them to worshiping God alone. Speaker 2 (12:08) Not because of religion. (12:10) Yes. (12:11) That is what they are home. Speaker 1 (12:14) You do not even fight them. Speaker 2 (12:15) Yes. (12:15) This is about the parents. (12:16) Only if they struggle against you. Speaker 1 (12:18) No, he is talking about relatives, like cousins, aunts, nephews, nieces. (12:23) Right? (12:24) Even if your parents, if they fight you, you still have to respect them. (12:27) That is right. (12:29) But you do not obey them in that particular idol worship situation. (12:39) Yes, the parents have a special position. (12:44) The parents, God says, do not say uff to them. (12:49) But God gives you permission to disobey them if they are forcing you to commit idolatry. (12:55) Say, you must mention Muhammad and Ibrahim in your prayer, for example. (13:00) You do not obey them. (13:02) Say, okay, mom or dad, just keep. (13:04) I understand your opinion and I appreciate your situation, but I will do it my way. (13:08) It is my neck. Speaker 6 (13:11) Of course, they do not know anything about us anyway. (13:26) Okay, let us see what the rest of the surah says. Speaker 1 (13:39) Verse 10. (13:39) In case of war, all you who believe, when believing women abandon the enemy and ask for asylum, will you? (13:45) You shall test them. (13:46) God is fully aware of their belief. (13:48) Once you establish that they are believers, you shall not return them to the disbelievers. (13:53) They are not lawful to remain married to them, nor shall the disbelievers be allowed to marry them. (13:59) Give back the dowries that the disbelievers have paid. (14:04) You commit no error by marrying them, so long as you pay them their due dowries. (14:09) Do not keep disbelieving wives if they wish to join the enemy. (14:13) You may ask them for the dowry you had paid, and they may ask for what they paid. (14:18) This is God's rule. (14:20) He rules among you. (14:21) God is omniscient, most wise. (14:23) This probably will never apply to us. (14:25) But what this is saying is when two camps are fighting, one camp for disbelievers, another camp is believers, and some women on the disbelievers' side join the believers, you do not have to obtain an official divorce for the women. (14:44) You can consider them divorced without any official action. (14:48) And the same if women from the believers' side decide to disbelieve and join the disbelievers' camp, God is actually telling the believers to give them back their dowries and divorce them, if this is what they want. (15:05) Number 11, if any of your wives join the enemies, oh I was a little ahead of myself here. (15:10) If any of your wives join the enemies' camp and you are forced to fight, you shall force the enemy to compensate the men who lost their wives by giving them what they spent on their wives. (15:23) You shall reverence God in whom you believe. (15:26) Number 12, oh you prophet, when the believing women who abandoned the disbelievers to seek asylum with you, that they will not set up any idols beside God, nor steal, nor commit adultery, nor kill their children, nor fabricate any falsehood, nor disobey your righteous orders, you shall accept their pledge and pray to God to forgive them. (15:51) God is Forgiver, Most Merciful. (15:54) Now when number 12 says, oh you prophet, what does this tell us? (16:00) Because this is at the time of the Prophet Muhammad. (16:03) It is not applicable to us. (16:06) Starting at verse 10. (16:10) Number 13, oh you who believe, do not befriend people with whom God is angry. (16:15) This repeats verse 1 and verse 9. (16:19) Oh you who believe, do not befriend people with whom God is angry and who are hopelessly stuck in disbelief. (16:26) It is very important, hopelessly stuck in disbelief. (16:30) You have to use your own judgment if the person, if there is hope that the person may become a believer or not. (16:36) And if there is hope that the person may become a believer, you better be as diplomatic as you can to help them. (16:44) You have a lot at stake, by the way, when you do that. (16:49) Because when you help somebody come to the truth, you get a lot of credit. (16:55) So, God gives us incentives. (16:59) Lots of positive incentives to do that. (17:03) So if you sense that the person is, there is hope that the person may become a believer, you should be as diplomatic as can be. (17:10) And you use your own judgment in that. (17:21) But there is no war. (17:22) This is a case of war. (17:26) Yes. (17:27) Yes, I know. (17:30) They do all kinds of strange things. (17:33) Hey! (17:38) You made it. Speaker 8 (17:55) Salaam. Speaker 1 (17:55) Come on, here, here, come here. Speaker 2 (18:09) Oh, excellent. (18:12) Hi. Speaker 8 (18:14) Salaam, Salaam, Salaam. Speaker 1 (18:20) And who are hopelessly stuck in disbelief. (18:30) Hopelessly stuck in disbelief. (18:33) They are just as hopeless as the disbelievers who are already in the graves. (18:37) In other words, there is absolutely no hope for them. (18:39) Therefore, you cannot defend them. (18:43) That's why you have to use your own judgment. (18:47) Yes. (18:52) There he is. (18:53) He's here. (18:54) This is Montana. (18:55) Very glad to be here. (18:57) The Canadian group were asking about you. Speaker 2 (19:00) Yes. Speaker 1 (19:01) I hug everybody later. Speaker 8 (19:04) Hi, how are you? (19:06) Promise? (19:07) Yes. Speaker 2 (19:07) If you accept our daily clothing. Speaker 8 (19:12) Yes. Speaker 1 (19:18) Let us finish the page, page 551. (19:22) Surah 61, the column. (19:24) In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. (19:28) Glorifying God is everything in the heavens and everything on earth. (19:34) Think about that. (19:36) Can we keep the kids quiet? (19:40) To lower their voices. (19:45) Glorifying God is everything in the heavens and everything on earth. (19:50) The carpet. (19:52) The walls. (19:53) Glorifying God. (19:58) I think we went into details of this before. (20:05) Firuz is kind of surprised. (20:07) This carpet is made of certain atoms. (20:09) And every atom has a certain number of electrons. (20:12) And the electrons are rotating in specific orbits. (20:16) And this is God's law. (20:18) So they are glorifying God. (20:20) Surah 17, God says, There is nothing that does not glorify God. (20:26) Even the disbelievers. (20:29) And the rest of the verse says, We do not understand the glorification. (20:35) So the disbelievers cannot control the heartbeats. (20:41) Or the lungs breathing. Speaker 6 (20:42) Only difference is they bring it unwillingly. Speaker 1 (20:44) Right. Speaker 2 (20:45) Rashad, God gives an interesting example of shadow. (20:50) God says, they believe God. (20:52) They think they disobey God. (20:54) But their shadow obeys God's rule. Speaker 1 (20:59) I was just writing a footnote about this yesterday. (21:03) And I said that the solar clocks bear witness to that. (21:08) There is a solar clock here in the university in front of the observatory. (21:14) And it is very accurate. (21:16) Because it is based on the shadow. (21:19) It tells you exactly what time it is. (21:22) It is an eternal clock. (21:27) So, glorifying God is everything in the heavens and everything on earth. (21:31) He is the Almighty, Most Wise. (21:34) O you who believe, why do you say what you do not do? (21:38) Most abominable in the sight of God is that you say what you do not do. (21:44) So, if you are asking somebody to do the five prayers, you better be doing them yourself. (21:52) Number four, God loves those who fight in his cause to be united in one column. (21:58) Like the bricks in one wall. (22:01) There is no, there should not be any differences. (22:08) They have to be one. (22:11) This is why we see in surah 6 that God condemns sectarianism. (22:16) God says, those who divide the religion into sects do not belong to God or the Prophet. (22:23) And they hear this practically every day. (22:26) But they still say, I am a Shafi, I am a Malki, I am a Hanbali, I am a Sunni, I am a Shiite, Ahmadi. (22:40) Barbara, what are you? (22:44) Masha'Allah, yes. (22:46) I don't think they have any trouble under this roof saying who we are. (23:00) It is the only thing they know. (23:03) But you go to any typical masjid in any Muslim country, under the same roof you are going to find different sects. Speaker 2 (23:12) Oh, today, Rashad, that Arab came. (23:15) Is he an Arab? (23:15) Yes, he was Yemeni. (23:17) Oh. (23:17) And he came before, he said, he came, he said, now this masjid, that masjid, there are a lot of hatred and bad things. (23:28) I hate them, I don't like, I want to make search, research. Speaker 1 (23:32) And they came there only for these reasons. (23:35) They have trouble there. (23:36) Yes, they always do. (23:37) They have fist fights. (23:39) This is in every masjid. (23:41) I know. (23:45) So, this surah entitled as-Sahf, the column. (23:50) Like the bricks in one wall. (23:51) Recall that Moses said to his people, O my people, why do you hurt me even though you know that I am God's messenger to you? (23:58) When they deviated, God diverted their hearts. (24:02) For God does not guide the wicked people. (24:07) So, that's it. (24:09) And then we open to general discussions. (24:14) Any questions, Azar? (24:16) No. (24:17) I don't believe it. (24:23) Yesterday I asked him, do you have any questions? (24:25) He said, how are you? Speaker 4 (24:38) It's 159. Speaker 1 (24:52) This is the way it came to us, order from Abraham. (24:56) And usually, if God wants to set a precedent for the subsequent generations, God would create a situation or circumstances that will force this issue and then we'll have a precedent. (25:09) That a woman is leading the prayer. (25:10) But that never happened. (25:12) And the innovations are a very serious matter. (25:16) So, just so not start any innovation, we're keeping this rule. (25:29) I would say yes, because of this same reason. (25:33) This has been always the rule. (25:36) And any change in it will be an innovation. (25:40) So, it's not worth it. (25:42) It's not worth it. (25:44) From the logical point of view, a woman leading the prayer is not... (25:51) The woman is dignified. (25:53) And it will be more distracting for the men. (26:03) It's very dangerous to start a new innovation, something new. (26:08) Yes. (26:15) That's a bad question. (26:18) No, no, go ahead. Speaker 2 (26:34) The Pharaoh tells those people to follow him. (26:42) I don't know, but I mean, I'm trying. (26:43) My question is, is the third one similar to the first or the second? (26:48) So, I... Speaker 1 (26:49) Neither. (26:49) Pardon? (26:50) The word used for Joseph and the women in 19 verses later in Surah Joseph, and also cutting the hand of the thief, that's the same word. Speaker 10 (27:01) Same word. Speaker 1 (27:01) But the word used for the people who commit gross crimes and fight God and the word the Pharaoh is using is different. (27:12) It's qata'a and qabta'a. (27:15) You see the difference? Speaker 9 (27:16) I don't know. (27:17) No, no, listen, listen. (27:18) Just listen to the voice. Speaker 1 (27:19) Qa-ta-a. (27:20) This is the root for the hand of the thief. (27:23) But for the people who commit gross crimes, it's qab-ta-a. Speaker 2 (27:28) So, the thief and Joseph, basically, exactly the same. Speaker 1 (27:30) Right. (27:31) Same word, exactly. Speaker 2 (27:32) What's the fourth one? (27:36) Qabta'a. (27:36) The people that fight against believers, they could be killed and also... (27:42) That's the same one as firing. Speaker 1 (27:43) Yes, that is. (27:44) They commit heinous crimes. (27:49) Stealing is a very specific crime. Speaker 2 (27:52) Yes, the difference is very important because this root, qabta'a, is strongly punishment. (28:00) Ta'a ila yuta'a ila taf'eer. (28:02) It is to make it stronger. Speaker 1 (28:08) God gave us mathematical evidence. Speaker 2 (28:15) Yes? (28:16) Earlier this afternoon, when you were talking... (28:35) Could you talk about... Speaker 1 (28:43) It's a straightforward answer. (28:45) If you missed the whole khutba and kamma, whatever. (28:52) Because you went to the place and chances are you're going to ask the people what was the subject. (28:56) What did they talk about? (28:58) It will be discussed. (29:03) Also, you're praying in a congregation, so... (29:05) The credit carries over, in other words. (29:13) You cannot cry. Speaker 2 (29:17) So, even though he missed the whole thing... Speaker 1 (29:18) If you give yourself a khutba and they accuse you of being this kid, so... (29:25) The word jama'a, by definition, is group. (29:38) Yes, go ahead. (29:39) You have a guest for one night. (29:41) Because you came too early. (29:43) She's over there. (29:46) She's over there. Speaker 7 (29:46) Go ahead. (29:47) No, she's here. (29:49) No, she wasn't. Speaker 1 (29:51) There she is. Speaker 5 (29:52) Yeah, go ahead. Speaker 1 (29:58) Do you need people to help you move in? (30:00) No, no, tomorrow. (30:01) We have great muscles, see? (30:03) Take more muscles and muscles and addicts. Speaker 2 (30:06) Not tomorrow, inshallah. (30:07) We have to get the car out. (30:12) Okay. Speaker 7 (30:14) Just say one. (30:16) Tomorrow morning? (30:17) Yes. (30:17) Tonight? (30:18) No, not tonight, because they're closed. (30:20) We have to take them away. Speaker 1 (30:22) I'm pulling my car today. (30:23) We have to get it out of there. (30:25) Okay, he'll bring the car back. (30:26) Just say when and we'll do his. (30:28) Inshallah. Speaker 2 (30:29) He's gone. Speaker 1 (30:32) Oh, he's gone. (30:33) Thanks. Speaker 2 (30:40) Exactly. (30:45) This is a good point. Speaker 1 (31:06) Tell about the system we have now. (31:08) Okay. Speaker 2 (31:16) I have also, additionally, the final is the path. (31:26) Worship God alone. (31:27) Everything, for example, you just see many rich people, they do not see the message because they are rich, they are proud, they don't get involved, they don't take care. (31:41) But many people, they accept. (31:42) Sometimes differently, and this path, all poor to be poor or to be rich, the same is advantage and advantage. (31:53) Look at the perspective of the past and the final result. (31:58) They all have the same, let's say different, but equal problems. Speaker 1 (32:04) What is happening to communism today? (32:08) Communism failed. (32:10) Where Karl Marx said all people have to be equal. (32:16) Didn't work. (32:18) Nasser destroyed Egypt using this principle. (32:22) Because all of a sudden the boss will call somebody to do something. (32:26) No, I'm not going to do it. (32:27) I'm just like you. (32:30) And the whole country stopped from that moment. Speaker 2 (32:33) But I think if the system was, God would make it work also. Speaker 1 (33:24) Say it again. Speaker 2 (33:33) Send us to this world where everything is bad or good is going to happen for us and see we are already trying. Speaker 1 (33:48) We accepted the freedom of choice. (33:53) Oh, I see. (34:01) We submitted to God. (34:13) Not necessarily. (34:14) We just said to submit and come to this world and perform certain functions in total submission. (34:23) But we didn't know what we were in for. (34:31) Materials of this world, all that the disbelievers get. (34:37) If it were not that all the people might become one disbelieving congregation we would have granted everyone who disbelieves in the most gracious mansions with silver roofs and stairs upon which they could climb. (34:51) So because this is all they get in this world, God saying, you know their destiny is so awful in the hereafter that God wishes to give each one of them a few million dollars and a mansion and let them have fun here for 60 or 70 years. (35:11) Because after that they will be heading for hell. (35:13) But then the test will become more difficult for the believers. (35:42) Ok, let us say we are all poor. (35:44) We are all believers. (35:46) We are all believers and we will barely make it. (35:49) We are very poor. (35:50) How will you print this Quran for example? (35:54) It is a good thing that we have this here and we sent it to Haji Ali coming all the way from Nigeria because he received the message in the Quran and books. Speaker 8 (36:06) Yes. Speaker 1 (36:07) It doesn't make any difference. (36:08) The dollar is already assigned to you but go ahead and ask. (36:13) The reason go ahead and ask and God says so is because it is a form of worship when you ask God but it does not make any difference. (36:21) The dollars from birth to death are already assigned. (36:25) Ask Jan about that. (36:39) But you know as it is with the believers you are guaranteed all your needs your health, your wealth guaranteed a perfect life if you are a believer. (36:50) And you may have zero in the bank but you will not worry and have peace of mind and the IRS cannot touch you. (37:01) Your money is deposited up there. (37:16) Anything is open to abuse. (37:18) Anything is open to abuse. Speaker 2 (37:20) Anything, believe me. (37:22) Something that maybe two people try and they just hurt each other of course. Speaker 1 (37:41) That's what God said. (37:43) Remember that the common denominator is believer. (37:47) The rich believer is better than the poor believer. Speaker 2 (37:54) That is encouraging. (37:58) For example, believers try to work hard. Speaker 1 (38:06) You are not trying to be rich? Speaker 2 (38:07) This is an achievement. Speaker 1 (38:10) You are not trying to be rich? (38:14) You are not trying to be rich? (38:14) You. (38:15) How do you know? (38:16) Have I asked you? (38:21) He is criticizing trying to be rich. (38:26) You are not trying to be rich? (38:28) Do you want to be rich? (38:31) I am not excusing you. (38:40) No, no, he is saying this is not a good point. (38:44) Trying to be rich. (38:45) Is that good or bad? Speaker 2 (38:47) Depends on your point. (38:51) If you have other things to do first of all you choose it. Speaker 1 (38:56) Ok, let's take you for example. (38:58) Do you want to be rich? Speaker 2 (39:02) Sure, I want to be rich. Speaker 1 (39:03) Why? Speaker 2 (39:04) Why not? Speaker 1 (39:08) I am glad you are watching. (39:14) Alright, so we agree. Speaker 2 (39:17) That's it. (39:18) Yes, poor believer is really poor, but... (39:22) Yes, thank you very much. (39:25) In this way, there are sometimes expressions of faith if sometimes... Speaker 1 (39:32) You don't want to say the rich believer is better than the poor believer? Speaker 2 (39:41) Yes, I appreciate the gift from God and then use this gift in the cause of God. Speaker 1 (40:19) I am telling you it is not easy to be a rich believer. (40:22) Not difficult. (40:22) Did you know that? (40:27) And I will give you the example of Solomon. (40:30) Solomon was very rich. (40:32) He was the richest human alive. (40:36) And he became distracted with his horses. (40:38) What did he do? (40:41) He got rid of his horses. (40:44) It is very difficult because you get distracted. Speaker 2 (40:48) By this way, can we say Solomon is very rich? Speaker 8 (41:00) Yes, the rich believer... Speaker 1 (41:01) Listen, there is nothing to know about the rich believer being better than the poor believer because God said so. (41:05) So, we can only debate on some details. (41:11) But the principle... (41:12) God already said the principle. (41:14) The rich believer is better than the poor believer. (41:15) Surah 16. (41:17) We cannot fool around with the principle. (41:19) But you can discuss... Speaker 7 (41:21) Is being rich or poor even more difficult? (41:24) Yes. (41:25) To get it to become a near true believer? (41:27) Because they don't want God. Speaker 1 (41:29) This time I am using you as an example. (41:32) Is it better for you to be poor or rich? (41:34) You, as a believer. (41:35) You are the same believer. (41:36) Your belief in God is certain, inshallah. (41:38) It will never change. (41:39) Now, is it better for you to be poor or rich? Speaker 7 (41:43) Rashad. Speaker 1 (41:43) For all concerned. (41:45) Answer my question first. Speaker 7 (41:47) Let me. (41:48) First of all... Speaker 1 (41:49) Is it better for you to be poor or rich in your opinion? (41:52) Is it better to be rich or poor? Speaker 7 (41:53) Sure. Speaker 1 (41:54) Sure what? Speaker 2 (41:56) Yes. (41:58) Really? (41:59) Let me make one point, Rashad. (42:01) The word believer is not something... (42:05) It is a very related subject. (42:07) For example, there are maybe two believers, both of them believers, but one of them is more appreciated, but God didn't give him. (42:16) God says, I give you... Speaker 1 (42:19) If God... (42:20) No, no, we are talking about equal believers. (42:22) Both believers. (42:24) Rashad. (42:25) You reach the top as far as belief is concerned. (42:30) Right. (42:30) Both of them are in the same taqwa, same belief, same degree of taqwa. (42:36) Now, which one is better? Speaker 2 (42:36) But you cannot say this. Speaker 1 (42:38) Why not? (42:39) This is what God is saying. (42:40) We are talking about two equal... (42:42) Go ahead. (42:42) You have some very good arguments. Speaker 2 (42:44) God says there are two people and both spend the same amount of time, time, whatever they have. Speaker 1 (43:50) Now, even without working harder, they want to... (43:53) Because I have seen people who don't work at all and they are very rich anyway. (44:01) Yes, but if they are both believers, then the rich man... (44:05) According to the Quran, what God is telling us is that the rich has a better chance to be charitable, to help the others, to publish the Quran, or whatever. (44:16) Things that need money. (44:17) There are things that need money. Speaker 2 (44:18) And the poor believers, there are some who are really unbelievers. Speaker 1 (45:13) That's also... (45:13) Anyway, we cannot fool around with the principle that the rich believer is better than the poor believer. (45:22) It is possible to make a lot of money so we can publish the translation in Turkey and build a mosque in his hometown and buy a few dresses for upper man. (45:39) He is going to be a millionaire, inshallah. Speaker 2 (45:42) Is it possible that a believer is rich? Speaker 1 (45:47) Yes. (45:48) Why? (45:49) No? (45:51) Why? (45:53) Solomon was a believer. Speaker 2 (45:56) He was very, very, very, very rich. (45:58) For only one year. Speaker 1 (45:59) Huh? Speaker 2 (45:59) For only one year. Speaker 7 (46:00) He was a believer for one year. (46:02) He could be a very unique believer. Speaker 2 (46:09) Why? (46:10) Because you are going to find an honorable, the right way. Speaker 1 (46:23) No, not necessarily. (46:25) But he will be a rich then. (46:26) If he is spending all his money, he is rich. (46:32) Also, we don't know how much money is written for us. (46:35) So we have to work as hard as possible. (46:37) It is God's perfect system. Speaker 7 (46:41) Yes. Speaker 1 (46:42) We don't know. (46:44) So we have to knock on all the doors and one of them, some of them, the right ones will open. (46:51) But you have to knock. Speaker 7 (46:58) That's hard. (46:59) That's a hard thing to say. Speaker 1 (47:05) You never know. (47:12) Somebody pushed the door and he was getting caught in the grass. Speaker 2 (47:35) He was very wealthy. Speaker 1 (47:40) No, period. (47:40) He was very wealthy. (47:41) Period. (47:42) He became poor for a while. Speaker 2 (47:45) Right. Speaker 1 (47:45) And then he became twice as rich. Speaker 2 (47:47) Twice as rich. (47:47) Yes. (47:48) Right. (47:49) So even though he went to the 12th grade college, his relatives may mean a million dollars, and that's really wealthy. (48:10) It can do just as much as 10 million dollars may be able to do in another place. (48:23) A poor, a rich believer is better than a poor. Speaker 1 (49:19) OK, I think we'll stop here. (49:21) We usually read two pages every morning and then we're open to discussion. (49:26) Yes. Speaker 6 (49:27) Can I go after? Speaker 1 (49:36) Why? (49:38) Also, the hereafter. (49:41) There will be ranks in the hereafter. (49:44) I think this is where heaven and hell, and we can think of it, if we apply the terms of this world, a ditch digger out when it is 110 degrees here in Tucson and somebody is digging ditches out there, he is hoping that he will save enough money someday to import cheese from Greece and sell it here, you know, stop. (50:05) In other words, there is a hope that this will end the ditch digging. (50:09) But if in the hereafter, a ditch digger is a ditch digger forever, there is no hope. (50:15) This is why it is hell. (50:18) So there are ranks over there and when the people in hell are outside those low ranks, they know that this is forever, there is no promotion. (50:30) Yes. (50:39) In the hereafter, there will be ranks, in fact, we have three general ranks. (50:46) We have the high heaven, we have the low heaven, and then we have hell. (50:50) So God gives us descriptions of the high heaven and the low heaven. (50:54) In the high heaven, the water flows. (50:56) In the low heaven, you have to pump, you have to work for it. (51:00) Right? (51:02) So that is the difference. (51:03) Yeah, in Surah 55, God describes the high heaven and the low heaven. (51:07) And God says in the high heaven, the water flows like a spring, it is right there, ready. (51:14) But in the lower heaven, you have to pump, it is all, of course, allegory, relative. (51:19) You have to work for the water. (51:21) God tells us in the high heaven there is all kinds of fruit. (51:25) In the lower heaven, there is a limited number of fruit. (51:28) If God names, names certain fruits. (51:31) But in the high heaven, God says there is all kinds of fruit. (51:34) So there are ranks and limitations even there. (51:52) So the closest to God would be in the high heaven. (51:53) You talk about the hereafter? (51:57) Yeah, the closest to God would be in the high heaven. (52:06) But this implies being in the high heaven means wealthier, richer. (52:29) Okay, you think that a rich believer here can be in the lower rank than a poor believer here, over there? (52:39) That's right, you are right, it is not necessarily the same. (52:45) If you take two believers, one is rich and one is poor here, this may be reversed over there. (52:50) But in any case, I think I understand the question now, but in any case, it is a fantastic triumph to be in the lower heaven or the high heaven over there. (53:00) Yes, and there is no jealousy, there is no jealousy and everybody is perfectly happy. (53:08) Jealousy will be erased from the dictionary in the heaven, the high heaven or the lower heaven. Speaker 2 (53:20) What do you mean? Speaker 1 (53:23) The feelings of ecstasy and joy and happiness. Speaker 2 (53:37) Do you eat? Speaker 1 (53:42) You don't eat in heaven. Speaker 2 (53:43) So why are fruits, why God is telling you not to eat? Speaker 1 (53:46) No, no, it is all allegorical, there are no fruits. (53:49) There are no trees and no fruits. (53:52) Unless you want to, you can make them if you want to, just look at them and reminisce about the first line. (53:58) Rivers of milk and honey and wine. Speaker 7 (54:02) It is all allegorical. Speaker 2 (54:04) We don't know what, for example, have the No, God says in the same verse that we must give them allegorical description. (54:58) Oh, no, Her understanding is just different. Speaker 1 (55:06) The same, yes, I know. (55:08) We used to understand it this way. Speaker 2 (55:10) Yes, we used to understand it this way. (55:13) It is allegorical. Speaker 1 (55:19) This is an amazing plain word. Speaker 2 (55:20) God says they have been given an allegory of paradise. Speaker 1 (55:28) Yes, listen to, look at this word, mutashabihan. (55:31) And the way God used it, it is amazing. (55:35) Mutashabihan means similar. (55:37) Mutashabihan also means allegorical. (55:42) So, if people want to believe that they get apples like the apples here and bananas like the bananas here, fine, they will understand it that way. Speaker 4 (56:02) Rashad, I mean, I thought, this is the allegory of the fruit, for example, but not the same as this here, the light. (56:14) The first, we remember the, they are there, not here. Speaker 1 (56:22) Yes, oh, okay. (56:25) Okay, she is ahead of us, yes. (56:29) She is ahead of both of us. (56:32) Wonderful. (56:39) The babies are supposed to be asleep at this time. Speaker 2 (56:44) Look at John, he is not awake yet. Speaker 8 (56:50) Huh? Speaker 2 (56:52) Rashad, Rashad, Rashad, Rashad, Rashad, Rashad, Rashad, Has anyone an ear? Speaker 4 (57:09) Does anybody have an question? (57:11) I think when you when you teach us, let's bring up lots of parents. Speaker 2 (57:49) The water will be nine-tide that most of it will be No, there is that For example stars, also a creature of that. Speaker 1 (58:14) Actually there is. (58:15) You know what the sun is made of? (58:18) Hydrogen. (58:18) And what's the water made of? (58:20) Hydrogen. (58:20) I don't know. (58:23) There is no way around it. (58:29) Hydrogen, oxygen, H2O. (58:34) It even has the flies. (58:37) It has a pocket full of flies to put in the oatmeal. Speaker 8 (58:41) What is this? Speaker 1 (58:44) We will never tell you. (58:47) Don't change. (58:48) Stay as you are. Speaker 6 (58:51) Someday you might say something important. (58:56) We don't want to miss anything. (58:58) You can say it. Speaker 1 (59:01) God created every... (59:04) He has a good point. (59:05) It has a very good point. (59:08) Because God is talking about the creatures that walk on their bellies like snakes, or two or four. (59:14) So God is talking about living creatures. (59:16) It's a very good point that Khalif is raising. (59:19) But I'd like to give him a rough time. Speaker 6 (59:21) See how far I can push it. Speaker 1 (59:28) Because what makes this... (59:31) He is talking about the stars and the sun and so on. (59:33) But what makes this restricted to living creatures like he said is that God says some walk on two legs and some walk on their bellies. (59:40) Now living organisms are 85-99% water. (59:46) We are talking about plants, animals and humans. (59:52) 46. (59:53) And life cannot sustain without water in those creatures, all of them. (59:58) This is the one thing that is common to all living creatures, is water. (1:00:04) 46. (1:00:05) We have sent down to you clarifying revelations. (1:00:08) Then God guides whomever he wills in a straight path. (1:00:12) God sends instructions through his messenger. (1:00:14) They say we believe in God and in the messenger and we obey. (1:00:18) But then some of them turn away. (1:00:20) They are not believers. (1:00:22) When they are invited to God and his messenger to judge among them, some of them get upset. (1:00:28) Very best knows that, huh? (1:00:32) Quite a few of them. (1:00:34) However, if the judgment is in their favor, they readily accept it. (1:00:39) Is there a disease in their hearts? (1:00:41) Are they doubtful? (1:00:43) Are they afraid that God and his messenger may treat them unfairly? (1:00:46) In fact, it is they who are unfair. (1:00:51) Believers unhesitatingly obey God and his messenger. (1:00:54) 51. (1:00:55) The only utterance of the believers whenever invited to God and his messenger to judge in their affairs is to say we hear and we obey. (1:01:04) These are the winners. (1:01:06) Both obey God and his messenger and reverence God and observe him. (1:01:10) These are the triumphant ones. (1:01:13) They swear by God solemnly that if you commanded them to mobilize, they would mobilize. (1:01:20) Say, do not swear. (1:01:21) Obedience is an obligation. (1:01:23) God is fully cognizant of everything you do. (1:01:25) My own experiences with this is, for example, the issue of 40 years when it surfaced, there was so much opposition to it, mainly because we are mean creatures. (1:01:38) Why does God put them in heaven? (1:01:41) Put them all in hell. (1:01:42) This is what they were telling me. (1:01:44) And they argued and we had to use a lot of discussion back and forth, which wastes a lot of time and effort. (1:01:53) So, had they said we hear and we obey, and then take off from that point, it would have saved a lot of time and effort. (1:02:03) It would have saved themselves a lot of time. (1:02:07) So, this is why God said the only utterance of the believers whenever invited to God and his messenger to judge in their affairs is to say we hear and we obey. (1:02:14) These are the winners because they saved their time and effort. (1:02:23) There were quite a few people, you know, this issue dragged with them for almost a year. (1:02:29) And the funny thing is, some of them, I thought they accepted it. (1:02:34) Then a year later, I found that they didn't. (1:02:36) They still have a problem with it. Speaker 2 (1:02:39) But that doesn't mean that they didn't question anything or accepted without... Speaker 1 (1:02:45) In fact, I did say now they should question it, but after accepting it. (1:02:49) In other words, God says so, okay, we accept it. (1:02:51) Now, let us see. (1:02:53) Why is God setting an age of 40 and why isn't it 45 or 30? (1:02:59) We can discuss that, but after accepting it and knowing it. (1:03:02) But what I found was they actually could not accept it. (1:03:06) It didn't make sense to them. (1:03:11) And I tell them, okay, give me the break, the line. (1:03:17) Where is the line, the cut-off line of responsibility? (1:03:21) Is it six years? (1:03:23) And when somebody dies at the age of seven, is he responsible? (1:03:27) Or at the age of 17? (1:03:30) 21? (1:03:31) What is it? (1:03:31) Can you give me? (1:03:32) There is no age in the Quran except 40. (1:03:37) For the age of responsibility. (1:03:40) In other words, they were just objecting without having an alternative. Speaker 2 (1:03:45) Yes. (1:03:47) The new age is to start... (1:03:52) Oh yeah. (1:03:53) The new age like that? Speaker 1 (1:03:55) Yes. (1:03:57) Which age is that? (1:03:58) That's about one week. (1:04:01) No. (1:04:09) Explain it, I said. Speaker 6 (1:04:13) You explain. Speaker 1 (1:04:14) Explain to others, to me. Speaker 6 (1:04:16) You have to read the hand. (1:04:18) What hand was doing today? Speaker 1 (1:04:20) Did you see how he prayed? (1:04:22) A week. (1:04:24) No, but he started, I assure you, he started before one week. (1:04:29) Actually, our babies start before they are born. Speaker 6 (1:04:31) The son from the hospital came right here. (1:04:36) Yes. (1:04:36) Before he was born. (1:04:37) He came here before he was born. (1:04:41) He doesn't have to stand up. (1:04:43) He will stand up. (1:04:44) As soon as he can stand up, he can walk. (1:04:47) There is no age. Speaker 8 (1:04:50) There is no age. Speaker 1 (1:04:52) Listen, this baby is not even one week yet, and he or she is listening to the Quran. (1:04:57) Did you know that? Speaker 2 (1:04:58) I understand. (1:04:59) He is deciding that he is obligated. (1:05:03) If he doesn't do it, it's the same. (1:05:04) So, it will be four weeks. (1:05:05) If he doesn't pray, it will be four weeks. Speaker 1 (1:05:09) No, but you see, Hani will gain from this, what he is doing, from his prayer. (1:05:14) Because this is my personal experience, for example. (1:05:17) I started like Hani, and I never quit. (1:05:21) And I think I am benefiting from this. Speaker 6 (1:05:25) My father is a prophet. (1:05:26) He is a monk. Speaker 2 (1:05:28) He is a prophet. (1:05:29) The question that others are asking is... Speaker 6 (1:05:32) Maybe. (1:05:32) Maybe. Speaker 2 (1:05:34) Maybe he is asking, if you say the point, the responsibility, age is 40, we cannot ask people that are younger than 40, you pray. (1:05:45) Oh, they have... Speaker 1 (1:05:47) How do you make that decision? Speaker 2 (1:05:48) If you know that the person is going to die before 40, then you can pray. (1:05:53) The point, Rashad, that we misunderstand, 40 is the maximum age, the maximum limit, which, if you, for example, now I am before 40, I heard a message, I know this is true. (1:06:08) If I try to abuse it, God knows my inner most power. (1:06:12) And God will mislead me, and I may lose my chance to be delivered after 40. Speaker 1 (1:06:19) Yes, there is more to it than that. (1:06:20) There is more to it than this also. (1:06:26) Although it will not happen, but theoretically, if a person is a strong believer at the age of 20, and he practices, and then he dies at the age of 35, he may go to the high heaven instead of the low heaven. Speaker 2 (1:06:39) Sure, because... Speaker 1 (1:06:40) It's a big difference there. Speaker 2 (1:06:42) Because you have a chance to go to also... (1:06:44) This is a big heaven. (1:06:45) Yes, it's very small. Speaker 1 (1:06:46) Yes, but to answer maybe this question in more detail, we are required to make the decision before the age of 40. (1:06:55) So how are you going to make a decision if you don't know about the prayers, and the fasting, and actually practice them? Speaker 6 (1:07:03) You have to have time to investigate. Speaker 8 (1:07:05) Yes. Speaker 2 (1:07:06) If you miss the prayers, you feel bad, and you feel like... (1:07:10) But if anyone under 40, I mean, it's not that much pressure on you. (1:07:18) Sure, fine. (1:07:19) Sometimes. (1:07:21) Too lazy to get up for it. Speaker 1 (1:07:23) I'm still assuming that the person knows that he or she will die before 40. Speaker 2 (1:07:28) But it isn't... (1:07:28) Basically, I'm asking because in Iran and some other countries, they put such a little bit of age on... (1:07:36) Like girls, I guess, they start praying at 9, and boys at 14 or 15, or something like that. (1:07:43) Yes, they have this, so... Speaker 1 (1:07:44) Actually, well, this is different. Speaker 2 (1:07:46) They have no basis, and basically, that's why... Speaker 1 (1:07:49) Well, in the Sunni world, the age is 5, and you beat them at 7. (1:07:53) This is the hadith. (1:07:54) You beat them at 7? (1:07:55) Yes. (1:07:56) You say, teach your kids to pray at the age of 5, and beat them up at the age of 7. (1:08:01) To pray. (1:08:02) Who's left? (1:08:04) Are you sniffing? (1:08:08) It's true. (1:08:11) Say, you know this hadith, right? (1:08:17) Is it 7 or 10? Speaker 8 (1:08:18) 10. Speaker 1 (1:08:19) 10? (1:08:20) Okay, 10 years. (1:08:22) Beat them when they reach 10. Speaker 6 (1:08:24) So they can beat you back. Speaker 8 (1:08:25) Yes. (1:08:29) You look at the kids here, and they look like they... Speaker 6 (1:08:37) Yes, they are. (1:08:38) They don't know anything. (1:08:40) I mean, good job they know. (1:08:42) They have to be there. (1:08:43) It's natural for them. Speaker 8 (1:08:45) They look like they enjoy it, too. (1:08:47) They go to the bathroom. Speaker 1 (1:08:49) You see how high he runs to the prayer? (1:08:50) I didn't even give him candy. (1:08:52) I have to go get the candy. (1:08:53) I forgot. (1:08:55) He's not going for the candy. (1:09:01) Say, obey God and obey the Messenger. (1:09:03) If they refuse, then he is responsible for his obligations. (1:09:07) And you are responsible for your obligations. (1:09:09) If you obey him, you will be guided. (1:09:12) The soul's duty to the Messenger is to deliver the message. (1:09:15) So the criterion of obeying the Messenger is, whatever he's saying must be in the Quran, must be backed up by what God is saying. (1:09:21) It is not in the Quran. (1:09:23) It's your obligation to disobey. (1:09:26) It's actually in this same surah. (1:09:29) It says that. (1:09:30) So the reason God is saying, obey God and obey the Messenger, is because the Messenger conveys the word of God. (1:09:36) The message. Speaker 4 (1:09:42) What happens if... (1:09:43) Okay, we believe in the Messenger of God, but what happens if he's human and he says something in his day? (1:09:51) And Alhamdulillah, I show them he did, and I explain, okay, if you're right and he is a mistake, he is responsible for his answer to God. (1:10:01) But you have got to obey him, even if you think maybe, maybe he is, you know... (1:10:08) Is this right, old man? Speaker 1 (1:10:09) Yes, yes. (1:10:10) In other words, if, in the Day of Judgment, say, what did you believe? (1:10:14) That the heirs of Pharaoh is this or that? (1:10:18) Say, well, I believe your Messenger. (1:10:20) Then that will be an excuse. (1:10:22) If I make a mistake, it will be my responsibility. Speaker 3 (1:10:28) At the last line, it says, the sole duty of Messenger is to deliver the message. (1:10:34) So you can realize easily who is the real Messenger. Speaker 1 (1:10:40) Okay, God's promise, kings and queens on earth. (1:10:45) One of the most important verses in the Quran, God promises, which means it's done, those among you who believe and lead the righteous life, that he will make them sovereigns on earth, as he did for those before them, and will establish for them the religion he has chosen for them, and will substitute peace and security for them in place of fear. (1:11:07) All this because they worship me alone, without setting up in idols beside me. (1:11:12) Those who disbelieve after this are the truly wicked. (1:11:17) What more can you say? (1:11:21) The believers have no fear and no greed. (1:11:23) No fear, no greed. (1:11:34) Righteous means abide by the Quran's commandments and prohibitions. (1:11:40) Very simple. (1:11:42) And God gave us very simple things to do. Speaker 3 (1:11:45) The first verse is in three categories. (1:11:50) Righteous. Speaker 6 (1:11:52) Yes. Speaker 5 (1:11:55) We reply to both submitters, Muslim and non-Muslim. (1:12:04) Believer, submitter and believer. Speaker 2 (1:12:07) And I guess one who becomes a believer, will be able to appreciate this verse. (1:12:13) Right. Speaker 5 (1:12:15) How does one know when a believer submits? Speaker 1 (1:12:18) If there is no more doubt. Speaker 7 (1:12:20) No more doubt. Speaker 1 (1:12:21) Then you are a believer. (1:12:23) The difference between a Muslim and a Muslim is the doubt. (1:12:27) That's the only difference. (1:12:29) So a Muslim is a person who believes in God, believes in the hereafter, leads the righteous life, does all the commandments and the prohibitions, but there are lingering doubts once in a while. (1:12:39) When all these doubts are gone, then the person is a believer. (1:12:50) Surah 49. (1:12:53) Between the Muslim and the Mu'min. (1:12:54) Surah 49, 11. Speaker 2 (1:12:57) You were discussing insurance. (1:13:01) You were saying there is always something like, as you said, a lingering doubt. (1:13:08) When are you protected? (1:13:10) When you are a Muslim or when you are a Mu'min. (1:13:15) So you are sure that God will protect you if you don't have insurance. (1:13:19) Right. Speaker 1 (1:13:20) It takes a believer. (1:13:22) It takes a person. (1:13:25) When we do the prayer, yes. (1:13:27) When we come back to the prayer, give me candy. (1:13:30) When you say Allahu Akbar, then pray. (1:13:33) You thought you were the smartest one, right? Speaker 7 (1:13:41) He's okay. Speaker 1 (1:13:43) It takes a believer to know that he or she has insurance with God. (1:13:49) And a solid believer. (1:13:51) By the way, God tells us how to attain this certainty. (1:13:54) It's at the end of Surah 15, the last verse. (1:13:57) Surah 15, which is 99. (1:14:00) You add that to the number of the Surah, you have 114. (1:14:04) It makes it very important. (1:14:07) Page 267. (1:14:11) It says, Worship your Lord in order to attain certainty. (1:14:15) So, a Muslim will do the five prayers, fast the month of Ramadan, and so on. (1:14:21) And this is how he or she will attain certainty. (1:14:25) All the doubts will be gone. (1:14:28) Also, one of the functions of the miracle of Quran is to establish certainty, remove all doubts. (1:14:35) So, a person who understands the miracle of Quran will have no doubts. (1:14:43) Hmm? (1:14:43) Right. (1:14:51) This is at 74, 31, where it says to remove all doubts from the hearts of the believers, even the Christians and Jews. Speaker 5 (1:15:07) Yes. (1:15:10) The point, the important thing is whether they understand or not. (1:15:13) Exactly. (1:15:14) If they understand, they will know. Speaker 2 (1:15:19) I think the only way to remind other believers that practice to read the Quran all the time. (1:15:26) It says, we believe you, then they change their mind. (1:15:30) So, they are exactly like I was before. (1:15:33) I was Muslim, I pray occasionally, I can read the Quran. (1:15:36) So, after a while, I forget everything. (1:15:39) So, they believe you are the messenger, they are too ready. (1:15:44) But they have no practice, so they... (1:15:47) Exactly. Speaker 1 (1:15:59) Until all doubts are gone. (1:16:00) The difference between a Muslim and a mu'min is the doubt. (1:16:04) Doubt. (1:16:04) If there is doubt, the person is not a mu'min yet. (1:16:13) But that's not bad. (1:16:16) It just means that the person is inching towards being a believer. (1:16:20) It's like we are born babies first. (1:16:23) You can't be born an adult. (1:16:25) You have to be a baby first. (1:16:28) This concept of born again Christian is true. (1:16:33) You can be born again Muslim. (1:16:35) But when you are born again, you are a baby. (1:16:38) And you have to accept the fact that you must grow and develop slowly. (1:16:42) Until you attain that stage of adulthood, maturity, certainty. Speaker 4 (1:16:55) Yes, God says don't say that. Speaker 8 (1:16:59) No, they are mu'mins. (1:17:01) They are not mu'mins. Speaker 5 (1:17:03) They believe, but they haven't submitted. Speaker 1 (1:17:06) Yes. (1:17:11) Isn't there a word stronger than believe in English? (1:17:14) Certain. Speaker 8 (1:17:16) Certain. Speaker 1 (1:17:18) But it's not applied, it's not used in the language. Speaker 2 (1:17:22) Like a person can say I believe and say I'm certain. (1:17:26) I'm certain. (1:17:27) I know. (1:17:29) I'm certain. Speaker 8 (1:17:34) I'm certain. Speaker 1 (1:17:37) I have to invent new vocabulary. Speaker 4 (1:17:40) Because when they say believe, don't say I am Muslim. (1:17:44) They don't know about it. (1:17:46) And they say we are believers. (1:17:48) We are believing in God, but we are not believing in Muhammad. Speaker 5 (1:17:52) But I think the word submit should distinguish that. (1:17:58) Because if they say we believe, then we can question them, have you submitted? Speaker 1 (1:18:02) Yes. Speaker 5 (1:18:04) If they say we have submitted, that means that they should be following the Quran. Speaker 1 (1:18:08) Yes. (1:18:08) I guess when I first said I submit, this means I applied to admit to be admitted to first grade. (1:18:16) That's right. (1:18:17) So I'm going to sit and be a student. (1:18:21) And when you go to a class, you are admitted into a class, we sit there and we listen to the teacher. (1:18:28) So we submit, God being our teacher. (1:18:35) Then we read the text book, see what it says. (1:18:42) Who's making noise over there? (1:18:45) Who's the noisy kid? (1:18:50) MashaAllah. Speaker 3 (1:18:50) As we say, as soon as we get certainty, we attain certainty, then we are a mu'min. (1:18:59) And in this case, our test will be finished and everything will be smooth and beautiful. (1:19:06) Yes. Speaker 8 (1:19:07) Everything is fine, no... Speaker 6 (1:19:10) Yeah, as soon as we attain certainty. (1:19:13) Is that right? Speaker 1 (1:19:14) Yes, everything will be alright. (1:19:17) Even if you go apply for a job and you don't get it, you'll understand. Speaker 10 (1:19:20) Oh, okay, I see what you're saying. Speaker 3 (1:19:23) When I got the problems, so I opened the Quran, Alhamdulillah, God said, like in one of the verses, it was saying that take it easy, at this point God has purified me. (1:19:47) That's exactly what's happening. Speaker 1 (1:19:51) Just like your dream. (1:19:53) To answer your question, Azar, read 55 again. (1:19:56) 55. Speaker 2 (1:19:57) At the century 24? Speaker 1 (1:19:59) 55. Speaker 3 (1:20:05) God promises those among you who believe and live a righteous life that He will make them... Speaker 1 (1:20:13) Sovereigns. Speaker 3 (1:20:13) Sovereigns. Speaker 1 (1:20:14) Means kings and queens. Speaker 3 (1:20:15) Right. Speaker 1 (1:20:16) Just one word for it, instead of two words. Speaker 3 (1:20:18) Right. (1:20:18) As He did for those before them, and will establish for them the religion He has chosen for them, and will substitute peace and security for them in place of fear. (1:20:33) All this because they worship me alone, without filling up any idols besides me. Speaker 1 (1:20:39) Does this answer your question? (1:20:42) Pardon? (1:20:43) Does this answer your question? Speaker 8 (1:20:45) Yes. Speaker 1 (1:20:47) Substitute peace and security in place of fear. (1:20:51) Everything will be alright. (1:21:09) Unless you want to put some other translation, then you hang yourself. (1:21:22) It's true. (1:21:24) They hang themselves. (1:21:29) 22.15 is the verse that was translated unanimously in all the other translations as, If you don't believe that God can help you in this world and forever, hang yourself. Speaker 8 (1:21:40) Really? Speaker 6 (1:21:41) Yes. (1:21:42) Why? Speaker 1 (1:21:44) I thought you knew that. (1:21:47) Okay, so you have to read it for us then. Speaker 6 (1:21:49) Huh? Speaker 2 (1:21:51) Huh? (1:21:51) Thank God, I never saw that. Speaker 1 (1:21:53) Really? Speaker 2 (1:22:00) You like this, don't you? (1:22:02) There are several different interpretations on this. (1:22:07) All of them funny from each other. (1:22:08) The other one says, let him go to the sky and open a hole from the sky and look at the sky. Speaker 7 (1:22:16) No, he's Moudoudi. (1:22:19) Moudoudi, yes. Speaker 1 (1:22:20) Well, this is a contemporary Mufissa. (1:22:23) He's funny. (1:22:25) He's more sophisticated. Speaker 2 (1:22:26) This is hilarious. (1:22:28) He's a modern. Speaker 7 (1:22:29) This is hilarious. Speaker 6 (1:22:33) If any think that God will not help him, his apostle, in this world and hereafter, let him stretch out a rope to the ceiling and cut himself off. (1:22:50) Then let him see whether his plan will remove that which then raises him. Speaker 1 (1:22:56) Okay, now, let us say you're a very careful person who wants to follow the Quran to the letter. Speaker 2 (1:23:00) I'm dead. (1:23:02) I'm dead. Speaker 1 (1:23:05) Wait, I'm finished. (1:23:06) Just read it carefully and see what he's trying to tell you and do it, because it's important. (1:23:10) This is God's message to you. (1:23:12) I'll be dead. Speaker 2 (1:23:14) I would have committed suicide. Speaker 8 (1:23:16) Is that right? (1:23:17) Yeah. (1:23:18) Good God. Speaker 2 (1:23:20) Rashad, what did I do? (1:23:22) You know, I presented this. (1:23:24) And they were, okay, all put together. Speaker 1 (1:23:28) How dare you? Speaker 2 (1:23:28) They cut it this way. (1:23:30) After my critique, I told them, to these translators, I said, if you think that you are right, now I challenge you. Speaker 7 (1:23:43) Now, can I read yours? (1:23:45) Yes, of course. Speaker 2 (1:23:48) If anyone thinks that God cannot support him in this life and in the hereafter, then let him turn completely to his creator in heaven and sever the dependency on anyone else. (1:24:01) He will then see that this plan eliminates anything that bothers him. (1:24:05) I mean, that is so clear. (1:24:08) And it's real. Speaker 1 (1:24:09) That's the message of the Quran. Speaker 2 (1:24:11) The context reads from the words above. (1:24:16) Yeah, it is in context. (1:24:18) This is out of context. (1:24:22) Does it make no sense at all? Speaker 5 (1:24:23) Not at all, no. (1:24:25) God said, I do Muhammad. (1:24:28) Yes, they put Muhammad in front of me. Speaker 2 (1:24:30) There's no mention of Muhammad. (1:24:32) It has nothing to do with Muhammad. Speaker 8 (1:24:34) It has nothing to do with Muhammad at all. Speaker 2 (1:24:37) Because even the ayat before is talking about God admitting the believers and leading them into a righteous life. (1:24:46) It has nothing to do with Muhammad. Speaker 1 (1:25:07) OK, well, we'll go back to work and we'll see you inshallah for Salatul Asr. Speaker 2 (1:25:21) Inshallah. (1:25:23) Inshallah. Speaker 1 (1:25:27) I did. (1:25:30) I was vice-president of the Sunni mosque. (1:25:34) Then one day I told them not to follow hadiths of Sunni and Sunni. (1:25:37) Here I can't sign anything for sale. (1:25:39) So I had to have it. Speaker 8 (1:25:42) And I bought it. Speaker 1 (1:26:00) Who's doing it? (1:26:03) We're expanding it. (1:26:04) The mosque is only up to here. (1:26:06) And then we added this part. (1:26:08) So we keep expanding. (1:26:11) But I think we need the new expansion soon inshallah. (1:26:15) It's getting there. (1:26:16) Last Friday we didn't find a place to sit down. (1:26:18) You're going to see feet walking across. (1:26:21) I'm pretty sure inshallah we'll take the whole block. (1:26:24) This whole block and we'll build a mosque. Speaker 6 (1:26:26) Inshallah. Speaker 2 (1:26:34) Inshallah. (1:26:34) We are? (1:26:36) No, I checked it out and the direction of Qibla is wrong. Speaker 1 (1:26:42) So I said we'll not take it. (1:26:45) Yes. (1:26:47) They're looking northeast. (1:26:49) Yes. (1:26:50) They designed the whole thing looking northeast. (1:26:55) Either that or we can just... (1:26:57) If you can move it... (1:27:00) We'll do it. Speaker 7 (1:27:02) Joke. Speaker 9 (1:27:03) Yes. Speaker 2 (1:27:11) Where? Speaker 1 (1:27:19) Here in Tucson? Speaker 2 (1:27:20) No, it's not expensive here. Speaker 1 (1:27:24) Besides, nothing is expensive for God. (1:27:30) Like Carl Sagan says, God has billions and billions. Speaker 8 (1:27:38) Carl Sagan. Speaker 10 (1:27:39) Yes, he mimics Carl Sagan. Speaker 2 (1:27:49) Whose block is the one on the speedway? (1:27:51) Ahmadiyya. Speaker 6 (1:27:55) How many mosques are there in Tucson? Speaker 1 (1:27:57) How many? (1:27:58) Three. Speaker 6 (1:28:00) How many mosques? (1:28:01) One. Speaker 1 (1:28:02) Three mosques. (1:28:03) How many Ahmadiyyas are there? (1:28:05) Also three Ahmadiyyas. (1:28:09) Two of them in Portsmouth. (1:28:10) Actually, this is a surgeon. (1:28:12) An anaesthetist, not a surgeon. (1:28:15) He was making a lot of money and needs Ahmadiyya and it's good for his IRS and taxes. Speaker 7 (1:28:22) So he built a mosque and imported two guys to take care of it in Pakistan. (1:28:27) So there are three of them here. Speaker 4 (1:28:30) Last night, somebody asked me if I am in the street and I have to do my prayer and the mosque that does not belong to any God. (1:28:41) And can I go there and pray? (1:28:43) I said no. Speaker 1 (1:28:45) Because there is a direct commandment saying don't. Speaker 2 (1:28:48) In a very strong way. (1:28:51) This mosque is the worst place that you go there. (1:28:53) You cannot find any place where you can pray. Speaker 8 (1:29:14) Actually, in the house of Satan. Speaker 1 (1:29:16) Do you go in the house of Satan to pray? (1:29:18) No. (1:29:19) Because in surah 9, really the commandment is very strong. (1:29:22) I used to be not sure. (1:29:25) And then, when I read this verse over and over, I said, you shall never pray in such a mosque. (1:29:29) You shall never pray in such a mosque. Speaker 4 (1:29:34) I cried. (1:29:35) They didn't believe. (1:29:39) This verse is very clear. Speaker 3 (1:29:47) I have a sign, God is my witness and I am not lying. (1:29:54) The first time I met the Khalifa, maybe 3 or 4 months. (1:30:01) And at that age, the kid doesn't talk. (1:30:04) And he says 3 or 4 times Allah, Allah. (1:30:08) And then I forgot all about that. (1:30:10) Last time the Khalifa came to our place and he had lunch with us and then the first group left to Qaybash place. (1:30:18) And I went with my kids and Muhammad to Qaybash house. (1:30:24) In the way we were so excited and Muhammad started saying Allah, Allah. (1:30:28) Like he was trying victory while we were driving. (1:30:31) And God is my witness I am not lying. (1:30:34) He tried and he tried in my arms, he knows it. (1:30:39) He pushed and said Allah, Allah. (1:30:41) And then I didn't say anything. (1:30:43) I was afraid. (1:30:44) I told Muhammad that, then Muhammad said you know, don't say. (1:30:49) I was just thinking and then he turned at me and said, did you hear? (1:30:53) He tried to say don't say. Speaker 8 (1:30:56) He tried to say. Speaker 3 (1:31:01) I think that's why the kids should be like this. Speaker 1 (1:31:05) Oh, they start very early. (1:31:06) I was not joking. (1:31:08) One week. (1:31:10) Then it turns out in the mother's womb, they are listening to the Quran. (1:31:14) They are Baroni kids. Speaker 8 (1:31:15) Yes. Speaker 1 (1:31:16) They want a Qaybash recording. Speaker 8 (1:31:19) Ilahi, Ilahi. (1:31:21) Ilahi all the time. (1:31:23) Ilahi all the time. Speaker 9 (1:31:31) He was saying, Allah, Allah. Speaker 1 (1:31:35) He sleep? (1:31:36) Yeah.
