Those who are heedless of God, the Hereafter, and accountability, and are consumed with worldly life, will face consequences in the Hereafter.
(0:03) …Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar (0:07) ash hadu an la ilaha ill Allah (0:11) ash hadu an la ilaha ill Allah (0:17) Hayya alal salah, hayya alal salah (0:22) hayya alal falah, hayya alal falah (0:28) Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar (0:34) la ilaha ill Allah (0:42) Alhamdulilah wa ash hadu an la ilaha ill Allah wahdahu la shareek alah (0:48) Last week and the week before, we went over time (0:52) and some of the brothers and sisters who have to catch class at one o'clock (0:55) were a little late, had to leave. (0:57) So I plan to finish by quarter of one, inshallah. However, I'm already five minutes late. I cheated myself after five minutes. (1:08) I will try to compress everything in the next half hour. (1:13) The problem with most people is unawareness of God or underestimating the greatness of God. (1:21) So the subject today is awareness. (1:26) We look at the people in the streets, see how they are going about their lives, unaware of their Creator. (1:32) So we're going to look at a few verses in here to see the importance of being aware. (1:38) The first one is in surah 7, verse 179. (1:44) Page 117. It says, (1:49) We have assigned to Hell multitudes of jinn and humans. (1:54) They are the ones who have hearts, have minds, should be minds, that do not understand, eyes that do not see, and ears that do not hear. (2:04) They are like animals. No, they're even worse. They are unaware. (2:09) So the people who are unaware are assigned to Hell. (2:15) They have minds with which they do not think, they have eyes with which they do not see, and they have ears with which they do not hear. (2:22) The next verse is in surah 10, verse 7. (2:31) It's page 139. (2:35) It says, (2:36) Yet there are those who are oblivious of meeting us, are satisfied and content with this life, and are heedless of our revelations. (2:47) These have deserved Hell as a consequence of their work. (2:50) Now heedless, or unaware, the same word is used in the Arabic word, rafideen. (2:55) They are unaware. (2:58) And you notice they are content with this life. (3:00) So you look at the majority of people out there in the street, and they are unaware of their Creator, unaware of the Hereafter, accountability, and they are busy with this life. (3:15) The next verse, 16, 106. (3:24) It's page 185. (3:28) It says, (3:29) Anyone who disbelieves in God after having believed, and thus falls while the heart is content with faith, such persons whose hearts are willing to believe,
